Jonny, the Government has enacted new policies to deport asylum seekers who commit serious crimes to prevent them remaining in the UK during appeals they might make while increasing the number of countries to which the Government’s ’Deport First’ scheme applies. No it wouldn’t. UK Asylum law includes the power to refuse/cancel the asylum claim of anyone convicted of a serious crime. Deport him back to Ethiopia.
