  1. No not a disclaimer. As I pointed out in my post you have replied to, “It’s a clear statement that I and many critics of Israel’s war on Gaza have frequently made, so not at all contentious.” Those looking to take offense might have missed that. I don’t need a disclaimer’ I have frequently referred to Hamas as a heinous terrorist organization and their attack of October 7 as an unequivocally a heinous terrorist act that has and has absolutely no justification. That is my view.
  2. I’ve provided a link that includes very good arguments for the use of these powers. Refer testimonies included. What you fail to grasp is there has never been an absolute right to privacy, technology providing inscription is a new challenge to legitimate investigation, it is providing a privacy that never existed and it is being abused by criminals.
  3. The authoritarianism was written into the 2016 legislation and was opposed by civil liberties groups, lead by Liberty. I’m sure you backed Liberty on this at the time. The 2023 Independent Review had this to say: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/independent-review-of-the-investigatory-powers-act-2016--2/independent-review-of-the-investigatory-powers-act-2016-accessible
  4. That’s fine. But let them explain themselves out in the open.
  5. The notice was served on Apple under The Investigatory Powers Act 2016.
  6. Perhaps we need a standardized statement unequivocally condemning Hamas as a heinous terrorist organization and the attack by Hamas on innocent Jews and others in Israel as the heinous terrorist act that it was. It’s a clear statement that I and many critics of Israel’s war on Gaza have frequently made, so not at all contentious. We might then append that statement to any and all criticism of Israel’s war in Gaza or any statement on the rights of Palestinians. We could even have law requiring the statement to always be included when discussing anything about the plight of Palestinians or the conduct of the war in Gaza.
  7. It’s an accusation that is frequently leveled against anyone who supports the rights of Palestinians and an end to the war.
  8. I’m up for it Jonny. I’ve consistently argued for justice without favor.
  9. Let’s see you wriggle on this one: https://people.com/donald-trump-calls-himself-king-as-white-house-shares-fake-time-cover-11683451
  10. I’m not interested in your accusations and name calling. Beyond exposing your lack of arguments and clear discomfort over the way things are going they are just background noise. You have a President who’s referring to himself as a King to defend. Put together some arguments that don’t comprise whataboutary and playground insults and we’ll discuss.
  11. Change is happening. All we need do now is sit back and watch who suffers the most.
  12. Trump supporters are clearly not very comfortable with the way things are going. Their angst is palpable.
  13. Ludicrously you accuse me of deflecting when I call out your own attempt at deflection. Your personal attacks suggest you aren’t very secure in your arguments. That you aren’t aware of Trump referring to himself as a King is only an indication of the bubble you are in. My thoughts on the matter is he’s saying exactly what he believes.
  14. Ah yet more whataboutary. Again Trump himself has referred to himself as a King. Any thoughts on that?
  15. Town Halls are a longstanding part of how voters get to express their opinion on how Government is performing. Its part of how democracy works. Any thoughts on Trump referring to himself as a King?
  16. What is not confusing is your aversion to discussing Trump other than to repeat the nonsense he’s fed you. Harris was definitely not speaking at CPAC. I think we both want some of the same things for America, prosperity, peace and liberty are, I hope things upon which we agree. I don’t ever discuss my family in this forum, consistently advise others not to. How do you feel about Trump referring to himself as a King?
  17. Again, nothing at all to do with Harris. On Trump’s trying to keep his promises, there is little evidence of this. He’s already walking back his inflation pledges, wars aren’t going to end in 24hrs, America isn’t getting ‘great again’. The outcome of his policies is yet to be seen. Meanwhile he’s referring to himself as a King.
  18. And yet the economic news is heading in the right direction. Those job losses haven’t appeared and consumer confidence is up.
  19. I don’t agree with everything but overall a very good post. I detest the Tories, but I’m the first to acknowledge their ability to win elections, they will be back and of course Badenoch will be gone first. Reform UK are reliant on one man, Farage. He won’t last. The Tories will be back, though I doubt in the next election.
  20. Last week you were saying wait until July. Now it’s ’wait 12 months’. Are you losing confidence in the guy now referring to himself as a King?
  21. A bit of a Strawman argument from you there. How about this. Trump won the presidency on the basis of election promises. It’s no longer about Harris v Trump, it’s about what Trump promises and what Trump delivers.
  22. The perspective of someone who doesn’t have a vote in the U.S. Three gaps are appearing, Trump’s pre-election promises and his post election actions. Trump’s policies and their outcome. And these are creating the third, MAGA expectations and the reality that is dawning on them. It turns out cuts to jobs included MAGA jobs, cuts to welfare include MAGA welfare, slashing regulations included regulations protecting MAGA. And all from a President now referring to himself as a King. Its going to get ugly.
