  1. The false moral equivalency was introduced by Jonny. I and others called it out. You’re objecting to ot having been called out
  2. The people who have come forward to give testimony are themselves combat veterans.
  3. Is there absolutely no topic in which you aren’t triggered to go completely off topic to play politics with child rape gangs?
  4. A very good point. The’s usually apoplectic outrage over comparing the actions of a national military with those of a terrorist organization. In this case ‘crickets’.
  5. You need to read the OP Jonny. The accounts are firsthand from veterans of that war, they are not ‘hearsay’. I believe the special forces veterans making these allegations know it was war.
  6. There’s a few who’s murders are mentioned in the OP to be going on with.
  7. A bit of whataboutary there. But if you are arguing the laws of the UK should be determined by what’s acceptable to the Taliban, the floor is yours.
  8. A gift that establishes one degree of separation between Trump and Hamas that passes through Qatar, dishing out goodies to both Trump and Hamas. Where’s the outrage?
  9. The allegations by British special services veterans who served in this war is of war crimes and murder committed by British military personnel. This not an accusation against NATO. But you are right, this is definitely conduct that breads the justifiable resentment terrorists organizations can use for recruitment.
  10. What I like about this latest ‘Trump Vow’ is its announcement 540 days before the mid terms. Plenty of time for the gap between ‘vow’ and reality to show up.
  11. Q1. Was Murray, as you repeatedly assert, arrested for supporting a proscribed terrorist organization or was he detained at immigration for questioning? Q2. Was he charged for supporting a proscribed terrorist organization? Q3. If he was charged for supporting a proscribed terrorist organization was he convinced? Supporting a proscribed terrorist organization is a serious criminal offense, we might reasonably expect such allegations to be factually correct.
  12. He’s trying to remain relevant in a changed world making assertions of what the ‘Democrats are’ in the basis of actions of young folk who he fails to demonstrate are democrats. And of course dishing on the young, always an easy crowd pleaser for the reactionary right.
  13. And yet his shift suggests that’s precisely what he would have done. He blows with the wind.
  14. And rightwingers recognizing their shared hatred of homosexuality. The very strangest of ‘fellow travelers’.
  15. He’s right about this: The right to bitch about America, protest, voice opinions, criticize the President, fly the flag upside down or burn it if you want. All rights in America, but not rights in some other parts of the world, by example N. Korea ,Russia, and China. The rest of what he had to say is simply playing to the rightwing gallery, which together with earning a buck under a changed political administration is another right he has.
  16. That’s simply Maher denying the perspective others have. Larry Davis called it right on Bill Maher, Maher is now doing his best to prove Davis right.
  17. A bit of false equivalence. “As Members of Congress, we have a legal right to conduct oversight at any DHS facility without prior notice, as we have already done twice this year,” said Menendez in a statement on Friday. “Throughout every step of this visit, ICE attempted to intimidate everyone involved and impede our ability to conduct oversight. This is like nothing I’ve ever seen before, and I am shocked and disturbed that something like this happened in our community.” It doesn’t need spinning, it’s self evidently a threat of attack on the political opposition and obstruct their right of oversight of the DHS.
  18. Why do you care, I didn’t ask you to pay?!
  19. It’s Italian, so perhaps not conforming to ideas you have on the social class of meals.
  20. Penne amatriciana, Caesar salad and a glass of Sagrantino di Montefalco.
  21. Yaxley Lennon has put a lot of effort into making himself known on the back of this scandal. He played no part in uncovering any of the rape gangs or advancing their prosecution. He did however put the trial of child rapist at risk.
  22. We need to remember Trump has form on Tariffs and the outcome of Trump’s tariffs has already been demonstrated. cui bono cui malo: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/may/08/small-farms-trump-tariffs
  23. It’s odd how we don’t heard demands for a full and transparent inquiry into this incident. At the very least it’s a colossal failure of security that deserves explanation.
