  1. There’s plenty of work in this thread for therapists.
  2. It’s clear Trump got the message even if he didn’t like hearing it. Canada is not for sale.
  3. Because of course what actually matters in a discussion between national leaders is who made the most noise for the longest period. As if its ’possession’ in a game of football.
  4. You might have a point, its probably not a good idea for a Pope to remind the rightwing christofascists that have control of the GOP of what it is Jesus actually said.
  5. Or send ICE to pick him up and deport him on the basis of his dual citizenship.
  6. That’s the life of the very junior partner in what is clearly turned into an abusive relationship.
  7. I have no idea. I’ll check when a U.S. / EU trade deal is the topic of discussion.
  8. Likewise we’ll never hear anything negative from Trump’s supporters, both foreign and domestic, no matter what he does.
  9. During Britain’s membership of the EU the U.S. tariff on U.K. manufactured cars was 2.5%. Under this limited Trade Deal, that tariff is now 10%. I guess you take what you can get, or at least the crumbs you are offered.
  10. Because it is a salient fact that this isn’t an FTA. An FTA with the U.S. was a cornerstone of the Brexit promises.
  11. No I have not. I’ve not been to the moon either but I know it’s not a place to go sunbathing. https://www.politico.eu/article/what-is-and-isnt-included-in-the-uk-us-trade-deal/
  12. I suggest we don’t get into personal comparisons. We disagree on matters but I don’t want to humiliate you.
  13. Yes they are. And Trade Deals are not FTA’s There will be no FTA between the U.S. and UK while Trump is in office, his vandalism of the FDA alone negates any hope of US foods meeting UK standards. The man’s an idiot.
  14. There you are quoting me out of context. I’ll tell you what it is, a limited deal that can be withdrawn at the whim of Trump. What it is not is comprehensive, and it is not a Trade Agreement, which would require approval by Congress and could not be withdrawn at whim by Trump.
  15. It’s fantastic work by Starmer to salvage some positive gains from Trump’s attack on the UK economy without selling out UK farming and the NHS. Giving the man-child a few crumbs to offer his supporters, both foreign and domestic, while de-escalating Trump’s aggression against the UK economy. So yes, good work by Starmer, his pragmatism is exactly the right approach.
  16. 147 UN member States recognize Palestine as a sovereign State. Palestine exists now.
  17. can you name some of these other countries with which deals have been ‘sorted’?
  18. It’s a PR Trade Deal, the very fact that it’s so limited in scope is an indication of how weak Trump’s position is. He needs this very limited deal in order to claim some victory. All that damage for immeasurably above zero gain.
  19. Perhaps wait for the outcome of the ‘negotiations’.
  20. but but but whatabout… Jeremy Corbyn. Nah, let’s stick to darling of the rightwing Piers Morgan platforming a raging antisemite. Or does he get a pass on that?!
  21. That green eye of yours in on display again.
