I support my GF, and I know some of that support goes to her immediate family. In return, she will take care of me until I die. I am also helping my GF's grand-daughter through university. I have a regular massage lady and caddie. Some days, I am the only client they get. When I die, my GF will have enough to live on comfortably for the rest of her life. So yes, I have an impact, albeit a modest one.

Hunter Biden’s Legal Retreat: Mounting Debt and a Life in Turmoil
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I was under the impression Hunter received a pardon from his father for anything deemed criminal. If he is broke, at least it indicates he was not getting bribes from anyone. E Jean Carroll was more successful with a defamation suit, although I doubt a cent has been paid in damages. -
Elon Musk - time to return to your Office at Tesla
Lacessit replied to TorquayFan's topic in Political Soapbox
There is a counter-movement gaining momentum. This organisation is handing out Swasticar stickers, to be placed on any Tesla.. Quite ironic, given Musk's espousal of free speech. https://www.thenewdaily.com.au/life/auto/2025/03/06/everyone-hates-elon -
Your opinion means nothing too. Free ride? We have loyally stood beside you, spending our blood and treasure in wars you have engaged in, starting with Korea. You have spy bases in our country, making us a nuclear target. The USA has a positive trade balance with Australia. We don't apply tariffs to your goods and services. Yet your leader has applied a 25% tariff to a staunch ally. Free ride? We are paying you $360 billion for 6 second-hand nuclear submarines. We could buy 24 brand new subs for the same price from the French. Just take your spy bases, submarines, and soldiers stationed in Darwin, and <deleted> off. We are probably better off with the Chinese.

That deep breath you take when you arrive back home
Lacessit replied to DonniePeverley's topic in General Topics
I go back to Australia regularly. I find it quite stressful, with the cost of living and nanny state regulations. For example, if there is a police car parked on the side of any road in Victoria, cars must slow down to 40 km/hr. More, it's a fine. The PM2.5 in my condo in Chiang Rai is 36 as I type. I can feel myself relaxing every time my aircraft descends into Chiang Rai. I am home. -
U.S. Suspends Costly Deportation Flights Using Military Aircraft
Lacessit replied to John Drake's topic in Political Soapbox
Plumbing is a skilled occupation. As are electricians and carpenters. Your post is a non-sequitur. I would be very surprised too. I would expect immigrants with those skills to be coming in legally, with the protection of award wages. Are you saying there is no requirement in the building industry for unskilled labor? -
It would appear you have drunk so much Kool-Aid it is coming out of every orifice, including your pores.

I get it, as a statistical sample of one employer, you are living proof the building trade does not employ illegals. -

I guess you won't mind paying more for your vegetables, then. Some people like the holier than thou shtick. -
What excites you the most about Thailand?
Lacessit replied to 123Stodg's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
1/ The cost of living is so cheap here my savings are being accrued, rather than depleted. 2/ My GF will take care of me until I draw my last breath. 3/ Plenty of entertainment - books, TV etc at the click of a mouse. 4/ The level of air pollution appears to be decreasing in what should be the worst month. Currently 35 AQI in my condo. -
U.S. Suspends Costly Deportation Flights Using Military Aircraft
Lacessit replied to John Drake's topic in Political Soapbox
I guess DOGE has got around to examining the cost/benefit aspects of deportations. By all means throw out the criminals and drug dealers. Throwing out cheap labor that keeps the cost of supermarket vegetables down is insane. -
U.S. Suspends Costly Deportation Flights Using Military Aircraft
Lacessit replied to John Drake's topic in Political Soapbox
Because the undocumented migrants are doing the crap jobs no American wants to do. -
So you won't remember the bone spurs, disrespecting the fallen, sexually abusing women, or backing down when Trudeau called him out. What an amazing selective memory you have.

Ukraine’s Fate Was Sealed Long Before Aid Was Cut
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You should not post facts on ASEAN, it gets in the way of opinions. -
I tend to be biased against felons, sexual predators, liars, people who disrespect those that keep them safe, or cheat contractors by using their wealth to tie said contractors up in knots in the law courts. IIRC over 4000 legal cases. In short, I am biased against scum. What is your problem with that?

US Economy Races Ahead While UK Struggles to Keep Pace
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Gold is the best defence against governments that debase their currency by printing money. I remember about 10 years ago buying Thai gold for 19,000 per baht. Now, it is about 45,000 per baht. OTOH in Thailand, over those ten years condo prices have stayed static, or even declined in places like Chiang Mai. I have been trading in gold for 50 years. I have never lost money. All I have to do is wait. -
Your bias towards Trump is quite obvious from your posts. Take your permission and stick it where the sun does not shine.
-
I am fairly positive you tell the truth as often as your leader.

He was nicked in the ear by some fragment. He would be dead if he was shot in the head. Crooks was a registered Republican voter. He had also searched for the date of the Democratic National Convention, so he may have been an equal opportunity assassin. Fight or flight are normal human reactions. Trump choosing the former does not make him a hero. He needed Vance in the room to help ambush Zelensky. That is the sign of a coward. When Trump backed down from the Canada tariffs, did anyone hear him shouting " Fight Fight Fight"? Do you ever think of looking at all the facts, instead of picking ones that suit your cognitive bias?

Yes, I have been to America at least a dozen times. Let's see - Chicago, Atlantic City, NY, New Orleans, Houston, Cleveland, St Louis, Philadelphia,, Detroit, San Antonio. Plus places like Rancho Cucamonga, Consohocken, Clementon, Valley Forge, and Yosemite. I am quoting official overweight/obesity statistics. Over 40% of Americans are classified as obese. Every time I was in America, I saw people who were so obese they could barely walk. That may be something to do with the quantity of food served up in every restaurant, be it breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I still have memories of ordering roast beef in Pittsburgh, and getting a piece the size of a loaf of bread. Put simply, Americans eat too much. I was using sledgehammers as an example. As I have helped in milling timber for constructing a 12 stand shearing shed, and marked 500 lambs in 40 C heat, I do know what manual labor looks like. I don't think you understand Americans don't want to work in low-paid jobs. Paying a proper wage for construction and crop picking would result in skyrocketing costs. So if Trump succeeds in deporting every illegal in the US, your cost of living will either go through the roof, or homes will not get built, and crops will rot in the ground.

Every bully is a coward, Trump is both. Bullies always back down after a good smack in the mouth. He just got one from Canada.

US Halts Military Aid to Ukraine Amid Push for Peace Talks
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The eastern parts of Ukraine are not ethnically Russian. That is a Russian lie. During the Holodomor, Stalin killed off about 6 million Ukrainians by famine in the region, which coincidentally is chernozem, the richest agricultural soil on the planet. He then migrated Russians there. Ukraine is fighting a war with one hand tied behind its back. Give it complete air cover, and the ability to use interdicted missiles to strike Moscow, and the Russian army would probably crumble without any NATO boots on the ground. Kyiv gets hit every day with similar missiles. Of course, Trump is busy tying Zelensky's second arm behind his back. The country most vocal about freedom allying itself with a dictator. I would love to know what Putin has on Trump, it must be quite damning. -
Do you think an office worker sitting in an air-conditioned office with a laptop can reskill themselves to swing a sledgehammer in the boiling sun? 70% of Americans are either overweight or obese. That leaves you 30% to do the hard yakka. Sure, there are plenty of jobs in construction. But how many Americans want to do that type of work? It's why the USA has become dependent on foreign workers, legal and illegal.

You were quoting a range of 137 -143 not so long ago. Going by the infantile nature of your posts, you'd probably be lucky to make 85.

Your post lacks any specifics. As I have caught you in a number of lies, I suspect any specific achievement you list will also be a lie.
