Do ==You== Miss the Zombie Life of Your Youth?
Lacessit replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I had a fairly miserable childhood. I was singled out by kids because I was different. I spent most of my time in a shell I constructed. It was only later in life I realized I could wipe the floor with most people in terms of skills and focus. I don't miss my youth at all. I probably miss my fifties, when I was at my peak in the field I chose. -
Biden Widens Lead over Trump in New Poll, Gender Gap Widens
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
How unfit is a person who mistakes Nikki Haley for Nancy Pelosi, on one of the most significant days in American history? Who says E. Jean Carroll is his wife in a photo, after saying she's not my type? That's not mentally challenged? I seriously doubt Trump will live another four years. He's a fat slug, and with his diet he is a prime candidate for a heart attack or stroke. Quite apart from his incontinence, he got the nickname Diaper Don for a reason. -
Biden Widens Lead over Trump in New Poll, Gender Gap Widens
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Trump has too much baggage. 1/ He has clear signs of dementia when staging his rallies, which are only attracting the faithful. 2/ The unions are endorsing Biden, they have realized Trump did nothing for them during his presidency. 3/ He doesn't have the funds. They are mostly going to the lawyers defending him, not in campaigning. 4/ He has 91 indictments to deal with. He can't campaign effectively from a courtroom. Judges shut him down when he tries. 5/ People are sick of Trump and his grievances. They want leadership on jobs and the economy. 6/ In crowing over the Supreme Court's decision on Roe vs Wade, he alienated a large bloc of the women's vote. 7/ He now has Nikki Haley going for his jugular. She's making an impression. I am anticipating Trump will still get the GOP nomination, but it will be a Pyrrhic victory. -
Australian Aged Pension

Superannuation IMO would be counted as savings as well, you draw down on it just like any capital. I don't know if the income of the fund would be taxed in Australia or Thailand. It can't be taxed in Thailand if it is not transferred there. I am confident there will be some creative accounting in play. -

Because the guy I am referring to has posted over 600 times on this thread, and he has been wrong all along. IIRC, I had you on ignore. I do make the mistake of responding to d!ckheads occasionally. -

There are two get-out options with the Thai tax system, even assuming it comes to pass for pensions. The first is you can only be taxed on income received and transferred after January 1, 2024. If you can prove what you are transferring is from savings prior to that date, no tax is payable. I've already got screenshots of my savings for that eventuality. The second is to marry a thai. For someone solely on the OAP, the amount of tax payable after various allowances is fairly miniscule. IIRC, I calculated it as 5000 baht pa. -

Living with any MIL would be my idea of hell, why can't the OP just rent a house or condo? -

Hey there KH, you have been yammering on about links for some time. It seems the cat has got your tongue for a while. Here's a link for you, enjoy. https://www.austlii.edu.au/au/other/dfat/treaties/1989/36.html -

For those living in Thailand, being a non-resident is no longer an issue, according to a double tax agreement. No 32.5% tax applies, which is 30% after July 2024. I suggest you read norbra's post again, perhaps you did not understand its significance. -

The resident prophet of doom kept publishing links to the discussion paper. Can't say if it was over 600 times, but I suspect it was a substantial percentage. In this case, I think once should be enough. -
Thai emission laws transform: What drivers need to know
Lacessit replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The difference between Thailand and Malaysia is quite stark. In Malaysia, I have never seen a vehicle blowing smoke. Here, probably 10% of vehicles. When a vehicle here is more than 7 years old, it is supposed to be tested every year before re-registration. I've seen vehicles at the testing station in Phan that obviously belong in the wrecker's yard. 200 baht fixes every problem. -
I actually take it for when I am playing golf, I find it is relaxing as well. Back and leg twinges from a golf swing are gone. I can't say if it would work for football, as far as mental acuity goes I might give it a try when posting.

Medical oxygen cylinder- safe to leave in a hot car?
Lacessit replied to poppysdad's topic in Health and Medicine
There is nothing wrong with storing a cylinder flat, provided that the pressure regulator is protected from being knocked in any way. A cylinder is a lot of stored kinetic energy, with 2000 psi of pressure behind it. Reports of release incidents indicate a cylinder is capable of going through the wall of a building. The main reason for storing upright and restrained is to protect the pressure regulator, which is the weak point. -
I use kratom about twice a week. The formula my supplier has is 100 kratom leaves boiled with 6 litres of water. I drink half a cup. As another poster has noted, it is quite bitter. I have a couple of sweet mango slices afterwards to remove the taste. I find it works better on an empty stomach. IME there is mild euphoria for about ten minutes, followed by complete pain relief for 5-6 hours. YMMV. Unlike pharmaceutical opiates, which block specific pain receptors, kratom seems to block all of them. As another poster has noted, it is addictive, which is why I limit my use. You are right to avoid ibuprofen, it has significant side effects, and does not do the kidneys any favors. It's quite inexpensive on Lazada. While legal in Thailand, AFAIK it is illegal in most Western countries.

Medical oxygen cylinder- safe to leave in a hot car?
Lacessit replied to poppysdad's topic in Health and Medicine
The temperature of an oxygen cylinder should not exceed 52 C, although there is probably a safety factor built into the specification. https://www.airgas.com/msds/001043.pdf I would suggest parking your car in the shade or a mall car park. You can also protect the cylinder from direct sunlight and temperature rise with a reflective foil blanket, and leaving one of your car windows cracked a bit to ensure ventilation. "Cylinders should be stored upright, with valve protection cap in place, and firmly secured to prevent falling or being knocked over. Cylinder temperatures should not exceed 52 °C (125 °F). Separate from reducing agents and combustible materials. Store away from grease and oil." Pure oxygen - SAFETY DATA SHEET -

Perhaps our resident prophet of doom will finally shut his trap, although I doubt it. Thanks for posting something of fact and official, which is NOT a discussion paper. -
It certainly is not the female sitting to the right of Trump, and he doesn't look like he is happy with how things are progressing. Apparently Steven Sadow is a criminal defence lawyer heavyweight, the rest I don't know. On a purely probabilistic basis, what are the odds of a defendant with 91 indictments being acquitted on all of them?
