Unfortunately, there are posters on here with the attention span of a goldfish, and about as many brain cells.

Trump increased the national debt by $7.8 trillion in his first term. The pigsh!t you are posting has no wings to fly with. Most countries are pivoting away from America as an unreliable trading partner. The delegates are not going to negotiate anything that disadvantages their countries.

So I am enjoined to keep my beliefs to myself, and you can post yours on this forum any time you want to? When you can explain why I should believe in an entity that no-one can see, feel or hear, with no evidence to support that belief, I might think otherwise. Which entity do you believe in? Odin, Zeus, Yahweh, God, or Allah? Each claims to be the best. There are so many versions. -

Thailand to Boost US Imports Amid Tariff Turmoil

I really feel sorry for Americans. Either they are trapped in a country where living costs are going up, higher unemployment, a broken health system and heading for recession/depression. Or they have lost all rational faculties, and think a felon and sexual predator in the White House will actually make America great again. -

Thailand to Boost US Imports Amid Tariff Turmoil

As I am not knowingly buying anything made in America, I don't care. The US has no idea of the backlash it is getting. Starbucks, MacDonald's, KFC, Ford, GM all have better quality and cost alternatives. Tesla sales have fallen off a cliff. -
I don't hate the USA. I despise Americans who were so dumb they elected a felon and economic illiterate as their President. I feel sorry for the Americans who still have sense and integrity. The Smoot Hawley tariffs of 1930 were a key factor in exacerbating the Great Depression. Obviously you and the orange idiot are incapable of learning from history.

If you are American, you are losing already. Unless you are rich, which I very much doubt. Go ahead, stick your head in the sand. Or go pound it.

Lame excuse for being wrong.

No, you are wasting my time with your ignorance of basic thermodynamics.

For a long time, America has been regarded as a safe haven for investment capital, doing business, stable currency etc. In a couple of months, Trump has destroyed that. Economics has the human factor of trust. Who do you think trusts America now?

The Bizarre Source of POTUS' Tariff Obsession

An interesting proposition. Tell me, when you get punched in the mouth by a bully, is your reaction to seek an "ACCORD"? I don't know about you, but mine is a swift kick in the nuts. -
It's not just the debt. It is also the interest on the debt. $36 trillion at 5% interest means the debt grows by $1.8 trillion every year, with compounding. I can't see the USD being the world reserve currency much longer. A basket of stable currencies makes much more sense.

The Smoot-Hawley tariffs of 1930 are agreed upon by economists as worsening the Great Depression. Here we go again, history repeating itself. Anyone who views Trump's tariffs as a triumph knows nothing about history or economics. No world leader is going to crumble. They will either pivot away from the US, or respond with retaliatory tariffs of their own. Already happening. Trump says he will bring manufacturing back to the USA. Assuming anyone is willing to put capital into an unstable country, those plants will take years to build. They don't spring up overnight. By that time, America will have gone from recession into depression. How to shoot yourself in the foot.
-
Trump is claiming he will bring jobs and manufacturing back to America. Fact is, AI and robotics have eliminated most assembly line jobs. Stock markets have crashed all over the world because every investor fears Trump is pushing the US into recession. if not depression. Meantime, jobless numbers in the US are ticking up. Stagflation is looming. China is reciprocating the US tariffs. It is also leading in AI, nuclear fusion, sustainable energy. and electric vehicles. It has 48,000 km of high speed rail. America has 80 km. The US maintains 750 military bases around the world. The Chinese have none. Shutting those bases down means the fall of an empire. Every other country is seeking alternative markets. Some are boycotting American goods and services. Trump thinks economics revolves around winners and losers. Win-win is what global trading is about. If anyone is winning, it is the Chinese.

The right way to deal with a bully is a good smack in the mouth. Trump would look extremely stupid if Canada cuts off all electricity to the north-eastern seaboard, or halts oil supply. As it is, it's slapping tariffs on both. Higher cost power and gasoline for Americans.

Dude, you have no idea of the gargantuan amount of energy involved in climate change. The Tsar Bomba at 50 megatons is the most powerful nuclear device ever made. It releases 2X1017joules of energy. Since the Industrial Revolution, the oceans have warmed by 1 degree C. Sounds insignificant, right? The oceans in volume are 1,335,000,000 cubic kilometres. To raise ocean water temperature by 1 degree C would require 5.6 X 1024 joules. In other words, more than 20 million Tsar Bombas would be needed to achieve the same effect. How significant are clouds as a factor, in the opinion of the pro and anti-groups?
-
I don't think either of the scientists you cite can deny the laws of thermodynamics. IMO clouds are an effect of climate change, not a cause. The 1100 scientists are wrong. Conservative models of the Tibetan Plateau predict by 2050 flows to the Mekong, Ganges and Brahmaputra will be halved, affecting the lives of the billion people who depend on those rivers for food. That's without the 2000 odd dams the Chinese have built or are building. Over the last 20 years, the average ice loss from Greenland is about 270 gigatons. Sea level rise on the eastern seaboard of America is about 6 inches thus far. It's not unknown for scientists to disagree. It's also not unknown for some scientists to have their opinions funded by people who prefer to look away, for financial reasons.

The UK is not part of the EU. Its commitment to Ukraine thus far is $16.5 billion. $124 billion + $16.5 billion = $140.5 billion. Are you trying to set a new record for the number of lies posted?
-
I guess you play that card when what I am posting does not agree with your refuted posts. Like the BS claim Trump's popular vote was the biggest ever.

I know one American who voted for Trump. He seemed to be an otherwise sensible person. I also briefly met an American who was apologizing to all and sundry for Trump being elected. IMO you can add schizophrenia to the list. It is not as if Americans did not know what they were getting, from his actions in his first term, and when he lost.
