IMO the history of Australia shows being left wing, socialist etc, is not the end of the world. After all, we have the age pension, Medicare for all, and a low cost medication scheme. Ironically, the age pension and firearm restrictions were both introduced by conservative leaders, Deakin and Howard. Perhaps the term United States of America is a misnomer, because there are times when disunity seems to be the order of the day.

True , Putin has support. The body bags are mounting up. Wartime economies mean more employment. Any economy with a collapsing currency is in trouble. Nobody wants to pay in rubles. Then there is food inflation at 10%, and bank interest rates of 21%. I don't need to go to Russia for that information. What does it tell you when a country ceases to publish basic economic data?
