Trump Starts Global Tariff Wall, Thailand Hit with 36% Tax

IIRC it was three casinos, which takes even more doing. Once is perhaps understandable, three times proves he is not a businessman's bootlace. -

Any reductions will be too late. The consumers of many countries will follow Canada's lead, and boycott American products. What does America produce that the average consumer can't buy elsewhere? -
Is it too much to hope your whining, attention-seeking threads will disappear from ASEAN?

Trump Starts Global Tariff Wall, Thailand Hit with 36% Tax

Taxes that pay for infrastructure, hospitals and schools are good. Tariffs are taxes on imported goods. Permit me to doubt they are going to be rebuilding America. Who is going to invest the billions necessary to revive American manufacturing, when the White House is occupied by a demented old man? -

Just to demonstrate how dumb these tariffs are: McDonald and Heard Islands are subject to a 10% tariff by the USA. They are uninhabited. Norfolk Island is an Australian dependency. Australia has been hit with 10% tariffs, Norfolk Island 29%. It exports nothing to the USA. Wake up yourself. Everything in America will cost more. Except shares. Economics 101 says the US will go into recession or even depression. You guys have lost the plot completely. -
Can someone explain why the idiots mostly seem to be American posters?

Large scale manufacturing requires billions in capital investment. Who is going to be nuts enough to invest in a country with an unstable leader and a polarized nation? -

Trump and generosity in the same post is an oxymoron. -

I'm not demonizing the US. I am demonizing the idiot who leads it, and his sheeple supporters. Why would I envy a country that has your problems? -

The US has a positive trade balance with Australia. We are being slugged with tariffs anyway, in breach of free trade agreements. It is not about leveling the playing field. It's about tilting it in America's favor. -

Let me help you out, as you are so shy about posting facts. The median household income in Australia is USD 63,000. In America, it is USD 80,000. My top level private health cover in Australia is USD 2000 pa. It would cost me USD 5700 in America. A couple of years ago, I had a one year course of a targeted inhibitor. Through the Australian PBS, it cost me USD 65. In the USA, it would have cost me USD 70,000. Please post some facts confirming how wonderful America is, if you can find any. -

LOL, beloved? Utterly delusional. Most non-Americans regard you as loudmouth boors. Still dodging the question, you obviously can't put a figure into print. -

We have already found out being friends with America is not any better. -

Australia gets more migrants from the USA than America gets from Australia. The millions you get are as poor as church mice. My point is the Australian Medicare system, with the PBS, is far superior to America's. You did not respond when I asked you how much your private health insurance would cost if unsupported by your federal service. That's the mark of some one who wants to persist in a delusion. -
I see, judges are medical experts. How toxic is 0.5 mg/L of fluoride in water? That is the standard for prevention of tooth decay. IIRC Trump was the main cause of of the COVID debacle in America.
-
You are probably unfamiliar with the maxim of Paracelsus, which states the dose makes the poison. Even water is toxic in excess. Hyponatremia occurs when so much water is drunk that the blood sodium levels get so low as to cause brain swelling. If you think doctors are indoctrinated, perhaps you should stick to homeopathy for your inguinal hernia or pneumonia.
-
Not at all. It is toxic in high doses. So is water. The Class 1 carcinogen I am referring to is alcohol. Your lack of knowledge in that respect tells me all I need to know about your qualifications and experience in the field of toxicology.
-
Please post your toxicology qualifications that enable you to make the claim. Quite ironic people struggle with 0.5 mg/L fluoride, while happily imbibing a Class 1 carcinogen on a daily basis. Cheers.
-
Fluoride at the standard addition of 0.5 mg/L in drinking water is harmless. You'll get more from a serving of salmon, or a cup of tea, Scientists and doctors spend years in training, and more in field experience. Influencers on YouTube can make money by pandering to an audience who wants to believe fluoride is bad, despite having zero training and experience in toxicology. The benefits of fluoride are well documented in terms of reduction in dental cavities. My mouth has been a gold mine for dentists, being born in the pre-fluoride era. My son, with all the genetic dice loaded against him, has had two cavities in his entire life IMO the people saying fluoride is bad news illustrates the dumbing-down and ignorance disseminated by social media.

If AI could give you the savings, it could also give you the median household income. The point of my post is to illustrate a difference in the way poverty rates are measured in different countries. The point of your post is an exercise in off-topic trolling.

It doesn't really matter to me how long the transfer takes. It may be seconds, or one or two days. What does matter is I am charged a standard fee, and I know the exchange rate I am getting. WISE saves me several thousand baht compared to a telegraphic transfer.
