  1. When the purge of government departments ends, replacements will not be appointed on the basis of competence. Loyalty and political leanings will be the key prerequisites. To see where that ends, one only has to look at Shoigu and Gerasimov in Russia. Renowned for their loyalty to Putin, they are also regarded by Ukrainian intelligence as a couple of their best assets, based on their incompetence. I have no doubt the second Trump administration will preside over some of the biggest bureaucratic screwups in America's history. At the expense of ordinary Americans. Trump's response to COVID is an example. I am equally confident some appointees will be filling their boots. A fish rots from the head. Welcome back, Senator Joseph McCarthy. I expect House and Senate hearings quite soon.
  2. You are not by yourself in Thailand. Every day, you post increasingly bizarre threads to obtain a variety of reactions.
  3. IMO a big factor in the fight is not VO2 max. It's speed. There are quite a few sports where an athlete's decline is due to deteriorating reflexes and speed. Boxing is no exception.
  4. Tyson has probably forgotten more about defensive boxing than Paul will ever learn. You may be right. However, there are scores of professional boxers that will attest to the fact Tyson was one of the most powerful punchers they ever faced, and it only takes one. There are quite a few sports around where older people can give the younger ones a very bad time.
  5. I was under the impression the OP was a neuter or eunuch, with only nostalgia to sustain him. He does remind me of Conleth Hill.
  6. Perhaps my subconscious was aiding the post. I must have some ugly images there.
  7. 300,000 years ago, the earth's concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere was 200 ppm. The planet was just coming out of the last Ice Age. It's the same time humans appeared. Since then, CO2 concentration rose to 300 ppm. In the space of 299,700 years. It has taken less than 300 years for man to increase CO2 content in the atmosphere by 40%. CO2 levels and global temperatures are strongly correlated. I can only assume you flunked math, and were asleep when correlation and causation were being taught.
  8. There is another factor, apart from methane. Albedo. Ice reflects solar radiation. It has a high albedo. Black rock absorbs solar radiation. It has a low albedo. As ice melts and leaves behind bare rock, the planet absorbs more heat. Between 1985 and 2022, Greenland's ice cap lost 1,140 billion tons.
  9. As I understand it, you are saying if it was not for the CO2 we generate, the planet would be cooling down. We obviously are not, so what's your point?
  10. If my auntie had balls, she'd be my uncle. Got it. Anthropomorphic means ascribing human characteristics or behaviors to non-human entities. Anthropogenic means originating from human activity or influence.
  11. When did Dr. Johnson say that?
  12. Some posters can't read beyond a headline, it taxes their attention span too much.
  13. Really. I guess that's why the average global temperature has increased by 1.4 C since the start of the Industrial Revolution. Which moron on YouTube are you watching?
  14. No one pays me, I would like it if they did. Which invalidates your claim. I suspect there would be a number of retired scientists who agree with me. Another example of the arrogance and stupidity of people with no scientific qualifications.
  15. Tar and feather me, I forgot you were one of the most pedantic posters on ASEAN, with very little grasp of basic logic. I may or may not be able to corroborate the claim, and I'm not going to spend time looking. Let me ask you a very simple question, yes or no. Would you work for Trump in arrears? I admit it is a "have you stopped beating your wife yet" type of question.
  16. " Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel". ( Dr. Samuel Johnson ) Sure is.
  17. So now you are wheeling out the character assassination. As I said before, no-one pays me for the facts I post. Remember what I said about the arrogance and stupidity of non-scientists? Bye now, I have wasted enough of my time on you.
  18. Not at all. I am against tax cuts for billionaires, who employ platoons of lawyers to minimize their tax already. You think Musk and the Koch Brothers donated to Trump's campaign out of the goodness of their hearts? Tax cuts are inflationary. If you don't understand that, you were asleep in economics class.
  19. Trump taking the oath of office will be a great example of hypocrisy.
  20. Trump is one of the most litigious people on the planet, over 4000 legal actions. Many have involved contractors he has dudded for work on his properties. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2016/06/09/donald-trump-unpaid-bills-republican-president-laswuits/85297274/ There's about 20 cities in America who are owed the expenses from providing services when he held campaign rallies there. IIRC he owes half a million dollars to the city of El Paso. https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2024/10/21/trump-us-rallies-leave-behind-unpaid-dues-again-and-again Any lawyer who worked for Trump without payment up front would have to be as dumb as a rock.
  21. Trump policies. Tax cuts, tariff wars, mass deportations. You need to pay more attention to things which are Economics 101.
  22. I very much doubt anything Trump does can affect me personally. I do feel sad for the Americans who voted for him, when their reward will be increased inflation and a higher cost of living.
  23. Trump is so erratic IMO it's a fool's errand to attempt to predict what he will do. I think I am pretty safe in predicting the next 4 years will be a clusterf###.
