No tax on Aussie pension
Lacessit replied to Chris BKK's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
While pensions are part of assessable income in Australia, they are not usually taxed unless other income puts the total into the first tax bracket. If untaxed in Australia for that reason, under the DTA they should not be taxed in Thailand either. -
Rice, noodles and bread are all carbs, which contribute to blood sugar. The OP does not say how fruit or what type of fruit he eats, these are carb and sugar sources too. Blood pressure and pulse rate are the metrics of whether you are getting sufficient exercise.

If you don't measure it, you can't control it. I use Mengrai Labs in Chiang Rai for blood work, FBS, hBaiC, cholesterol, PSA etc. They highlight any results outside normal range. Cost is usually about 1200 baht, they email the results to me within a couple of hours.

Trump popularity sinks as Americans quickly sour on economy: poll

Ah, but will the MAGA's realise they've been thrown under a bus? Interesting times ahead. -
I moved to a mining project in a remote area of Australia for 6 years. I bought a house back in Melbourne with a mortgage, which I paid off within 18 months. If Gen Z actually gets to buy a house nowadays, they will be paying off a similar mortgage in about 30 - 40 years. Some will still be in debt in retirement, even though the asset value has grown. To me, that is challenging.

What you say used to be true for Western countries, although wealth inequity is so extreme now probabilities are much lower. Most people stay poor in affluent countries because of poor life choices. There's a village in East Timor which has only one industry - salt. The men go down to the sea to collect seawater in hollowed - out bamboo poles. It's then poured over a nest of palm fronds to make brine. Other villagers go into the forest, collecting firewood. It's used to heat cast iron pans, passed down through generations, to make salt crystals from brine. The women weave small baskets from palm fronds, about the size of a drinking glass. Each basket sells for about 5 cents. Average wage when I was there was $5 a month. For you to be saying such people can be financially successful is arrant nonsense.

IME Thai doctors almost never ask for my previous medical history, or what medications I am currently on. In Australia, any GP or specialist can see all my previous surgeries and medications with one mouse click. It's why I check everything I am prescribed here for potential interactions and side effects.

Trump popularity sinks as Americans quickly sour on economy: poll
Lacessit replied to bannork's topic in Political Soapbox
All governments have waste. The question is, how much of the baby is going to be thrown out with the bathwater? Who is more likely to survive an employee cull, someone at the bottom of the food chain, or someone at the top? And after said cull, how many vital functions are compromised? You can bet Musk does not give a rat's rectum if social security payments are delayed or disappear. IME the best and brightest in a cutback say the hell with it, and head for the exits. The survivors are the office politicians, and clock watchers. -
Trump Joins the Axis. NATO Dead. WW111 Imminent?

Embarrassment may be something Putin has on Trump. No need to make up our minds, both factors may be involved. -
Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity?
Lacessit replied to RSD1's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Musk has just celebrated a sweeping win by a far-right party in Germany, who he backed financially. Make no mistake, he is a neo-Nazi. -

Not as much as you need manners.

The distance Pattaya - Suvarnabumi is 120 km. The distance Pattaya - Utapao is 45 km. It should be obvious to anyone these are taxi fees, not car hire.

Apparently you have not heard of Mutually Assured Destruction, with the appropriate acronym MAD Truman did not have to think about Japan striking back. IMO the EU needs to gear up to assist Ukraine, Trump is totally unreliable. Richard Condon wrote a book called The Manchurian Candidate. Quite possible Trump is the Moscow Candidate. Let the sanctions do the work of destroying the Russian economy.

The usual car rental is 800-1000 baht per day. Scooter hire is 200 - 300 baht /day. Perhaps the OP was simply reading an ad for scooter hire.
