Australian Aged Pension
Lacessit replied to VOICEOVER's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
The answer is simple - stop reading his posts. I have, because it is the same theme restated multiple times,. I have better things to do with my time. -
I look at the cost relative to what food is on offer. I will eat at a buffet if it is in the price range 200 - 300 baht. More, I walk away. I pace myself, and stop when I feel full. I don't like feeling that I have overeaten. I agree Auf Der Au in Chiang Mai is very good value. IIRC, Siripanna Resort past Gymkhana Golf Club has a Thai food lunch buffet for 199 baht, including desserts of cake and ice cream. Good value. I haven't encountered anything similar in Chiang Rai.

Jury finds Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in civil case
Lacessit replied to Scott's topic in World News
Er - you want Trump's semen inside her before accepting he raped her? News flash - it's possible to have sex with a woman without ejaculation. Rape is about power, it's not about sex. It's proof when other women come forward independently to confirm Trump assaulted them. It's proof when he makes statements supporting sexual predation. Would you be dumb enough to do what Trump did in the aftermath, or smart enough to keep your mouth shut? The jury believed her, they did not believe Trump. Perhaps there is some common sense in America after all. I understand - you prefer 20 yo airheads. Each to his own. -
Look at the footage of Russian tanks being turned into scrap metal by artillery and shoulder-fired missiles, or Russian infantry in trenches getting clobbered by grenade - bearing drones. There's no fog of war about that. If the Russians were responding in kind, don't you think they would be boasting about it on social media?

According to photos of her when she was 50, she was an attractive looking woman. Trump mistook her for his former wife during the deposition. I am not aware of rapists and sexual abusers asking the age of their victims before doing the deed. The evidence was supplied by two of her friends who testified in court she had told them shortly after the rape/assault, and other women who came forward to testify he had molested them too. What do you want as evidence, his DNA on her dress? -
You may be right. However, Putin cannot avoid mobilizing Russians in the major cities, which he has studiously ignored so far, preferring to focus on minority groups. Putin fears the political backlash from complete mobilisation, even now he refuses to designate the conflict as a war. Each mobilisation he conducts results in the best and brightest Russians fleeing the country. They don't want to be cannon fodder for incompetent generals. IMO Russia is either going to be a failed state, riven by ethnic conflicts, or a Chinese vassal.

I have never heard of an acid coolant, if anything they tend to be alkaline. The excess rust you see is nothing compared to what is lining the passageways of the engine and radiator, and affects heat transfer. Metals conduct heat, rust doesn't. To say nothing of what it is doing to the water pump. Coolants also perform the function of elevating boiling point as well as depressing freezing point. Coolants raise the boiling point of the fluid to above 130 C, a useful property in the Thai climate. I wish you good luck with your engine, you are going to need it.

I don't intend to, the Ukrainians do. The Ukrainians are well equipped, well trained, have high morale and have competent leadership. The Russians have none of the above, their only strategy is to attack civilian infrastructure. I expect the Ukrainians to continue attacking Russian logistics, which so far they have done quite brilliantly. Logistics win wars. Putin is hiding the real numbers of Russian casualties, that information can't be suppressed forever. When it does get out, the Russians themselves may well do the work for the Ukrainians.

I very much doubt a T55 will have any effectiveness on a battlefield against an M1 Abrams, Challenger or Leopard tank. The technological gulf is too huge. IIRC, the Iraqis had a lot of T55 and T72 tanks, the Abrams slaughtered them. Any hits on an Abrams just bounced off. Unless the Russians have found a way to equip the T55's with armor-piercing discarding sabot ammunition and precision guidance, it will be the same story.

Are there therapists for depression here?

PM Sheryl, she will have recommendations. -
The ethylene glycol usually in the coolant package would probably attack the plastic components in the radiator, hence the warning. Engines are a lot more expensive than radiators. The logic of buying a cheap part in place of a radiator designed to be compatible with the engine escapes me. Coolants have corrosion inhibitors in their formulation. By operating the system with only water, and a mixture of alloy and steel, you are inviting rust in.
-
It's easy and cheap enough to run a compression test on an engine, then have the cylinder head off to check the coolant passages for corrosion. If it passes both of those inspections, it should be good to go. Forgot - if the OP replaces the engine, he should also replace the radiator. The one he has is very probably cactus.
-
The amount of rust present on the cylinders, and in coolant passages, indicates IMO someone has been skimping on maintenance, not using coolant additive. Rust impedes heat transfer. Coolant elevates the boiling point of the water in the system. As another poster has said, engine from a crashed vehicle. Next time around, use the vehicle manufacturer's recommended coolant. Or expect a repeat stuffed engine.

Jury finds Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll in civil case

What was there in the jury instructions which might be grounds for appeal? I would hate trying to represent Trump, he can't keep his mouth shut when he would be well advised to do so. -

He also said during the video deposition "stars" have been getting away with sexual assault " fortunately or unfortunately". It was probably true; however, the three women on the jury probably took that as an admission of sexual predation. -

Trump is the one who is stupid. If he had simply said " No, I did not rape her" and left it at that, IMO he would have been OK. It was the defamation that sunk him. Plus doubling down in his deposition, and Truth Social posts. At the end of the day, it was a question of who the jury believed, E Jean Carroll, or Trump. I am reminded of the aphorism "It is better to stay silent, and be taken for a fool, than to open one's mouth, and remove all doubt". -

I can see the point of taxing someone with a high superannuation balance. As many commentators have said, super was meant to fund retirement, not for generational transfer. I can't see the point of taxing people on $26,000 per year. As I have said before, the gain is too small for the potential backlash. No doubt a Liberal government would, their whole philosophy revolves around war on anyone receiving benefits, and fattening the rich even further. Check out how many Liberal MP's are negative gearing properties. With this budget, IMO Chalmers has destroyed the Liberal claim to be more responsible economic managers. I'm predicting Dutton's response will fly with voters like a lead Zeppelin. -

The Federal Budget has been handed down. There is no mention of taxing expat pensioners ( or any expat for that matter ) at 32.5%, or implementation of any 183 day rule. Unless such changes are buried in very fine detail, you may have to find another drum to beat. https://thenewdaily.com.au/finance/news-federal-budget/2023/05/09/federal-budget-2023-winners-losers/?utm_campaign=News Alert - 20230509_Budget Night&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Adestra&lr_hash=6532358006ffdf91b6b45ab0f13d0b1c
