  1. Given the famous UK climate, I'm wondering why anyone would even consider living there. Perhaps that's why Brits have spread to all corners of the globe.
  2. You presumably missed the SOL reference. I'll save us both the trouble of further argument, as my advice is unwelcome. On ignore now.
  3. I did read your OP, and it did not say anything about keeping the card active. You did say other cards had been cancelled; however, I am not a mind-reader. If you make one purchase a month on Lazada, that should be sufficient to keep the card active. Small purchases. I buy fenugreek seeds on Lazada, about 120 baht including delivery. Apparently recommended for lowering blood sugar, and SOL.
  4. When I read this kind of stuff, it's obvious there are some clueless foreigners in Thailand. Any day market would have avocados at 40 - 60 baht/kilo. Nobody with any smarts at all would buy their fruit and vegetables at a supermarket here, most of it isn't even ripe anyway, straight out of cold storage. It's like people who come here and steadfastly refuse to learn any Thai. Then wonder why life is difficult and frustrating.
  5. IMO you are better off having a Thai bank account, and a Thai debit card. That's what I have for Lazada. I have two Australian debit cards, they are only for emergencies. I suspect by the time the credit card provider does the exchange rate, and commissions etc. come in, it would get to be an expensive purchase.
  6. Corruption is endemic in Australia as well, it's just not as blatant. Such as the pork-barrelling of electorates, gas being exported without regard to domestic needs, a Prime Minister's Department that was staffed with 90% of people connected to the coal industry. Freedom of speech is suppressed by people and companies with deep pockets, who will sue those who speak out. It gets very expensive to defend, even if one has truth as a defence.
  7. Act 1. Trump says only mobsters take the Fifth. Act 2. Trump revises the laws on documents. Act 3. Trump's lawyer states all documents have been returned. Act 4. Trump goes public with the FBI raid. I don't know what Act 5 is going to be, but hoist with one's own petard seems to be the order of the day.
  8. J& N Auto or Expat Auto if you want someone who speaks good English. Don't know what their capabilities are for your problem.
  9. I've never seen one here. I can say from riding in one in Oz they are very impressive in terms of quality and value for money. Turbo is 35% more boost than the Merc counterpart, the car is $20,000 less on the road. I understand they will be phased out by Kia this year.
  10. Let me guess - you're Margaret Thatcher's grandchild? Please spellcheck your posts, she would be embarrassed. Forget grammar, it's a lost cause. In the next couple of months, I am predicting Trump's so-called avalanche will melt like an ice-cream cone in the Sahara. Take care not to get in the way of the truck that's about to hit him.
  11. It's a fashion thing, for Thais eating at McDonald's is prestigious. It's like people who buy Mercs and Beemers, when a Toyota Lexus or Kia Stinger will do just as good a job. Obeying the laws of supply and demand, and capitalism, IMO McDonald's jacks up its prices to what they think the market will bear. One of my favorite restaurants in Chiang Rai, the Hungry Nest, slaughters McDonald's for price and food quality, but it's mostly foreigners eating there.
  12. Your last sentence is classic gaslighting. It's enough for me to put you on ignore without further ado.
  13. I'm just wondering how many of those documents have been copied by Trump, IMO an office as palatial as his would have a photocopier somewhere. This is starting to smell of Aldrich Ames.
  14. Yes, and he also crafted the security law which was designed to nail Hillary, and is now in play against him. In soccer, it's called an own goal. One is careless, two is the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.
  15. When/if it gets to a courtroom, IMO Trump is going to take the Fifth. His rants on social media, which so impress his followers, will cut no ice with a judge. Contempt of court is a real possibility. When he was on Twitter, I occasionally read his posts. What amazed me was their poor standard of literacy. Perhaps that's why he has so much appeal for the mouth breathers and knuckle draggers.
  16. Fructose has nothing to do with diabetes. It is not metabolized by insulin, but processed in the liver, where it can cause fatty liver disease. If the OP wants a fruit low in fructose, I suggest he try guava, which is even lower in sugar than a Granny Smith. It is also in plentiful supply here. It also seems less prone to Maillard reactions when kept cut up in the refrigerator
  17. To kill people quickly and effectively. i can't picture an AR-15 as a hunting weapon. As for target shooting, LOL.
  18. Which comes back to the question of why he was so keen to hang on to them. It's a mess of his own making, as Garland probably would not have prosecuted under the Espionage Act if Trump had simply given them back. Now, the DOJ has ample ammunition. Trump has previous form in obstructing access to his tax records, it's not hard to understand why.
  19. Best case, Trump was just so arrogant he thought he was able to ignore his own laws. Middle of the road, there is information in the purloined documents he would prefer no-one else sees. Worst case, the documents had value, and he was going to sell them. Take your pick. The pro-Trumpers on this thread all refuse to say if they have kicked in $45. If one actually did, the laugh emojis would stretch from here to the moon.
  20. I have not lived in America. I have visited there many times. It's got a lot of interesting places and history. IMO one would need to be quite affluent in America to enjoy it. As a non-American, the cost of medical care, dentistry and pharmaceuticals would be ruinous for the average person. There's a couple of places in the US where I felt quite uncomfortable and unsafe. I have never felt that way in Thailand.
  21. You're entitled to your opinion, for what it is worth. Nada. You're accusing me of extreme bias, when every post of yours exhibits it. I'll let the American justice system decide. As for you, on ignore now.
  22. I get it, Kevin Cline Smith should be drawn and quartered, Trump is above the law. After all, he did once say he could shoot someone on a New York street, and no jury would convict him.
  23. No they don't, because a warrant based on a fishing expedition would be the height of folly against an ex-President. Merrick Garland is not noted for being stupid.
  24. Do you mean collagen? It's supposed to help with skin ageing and wrinkles, AFAIK it does not cause stomach problems. IME a lot of the stomach ailments are caused by over-spicy food, and imbibing Lao Khao.
  25. Gee I don't know. Perhaps because Newsweek is noted for errors of fact, and has not employed fact-checkers since 1996? Garland sets his own schedule, why should he listen to the bleatings of Fox talking heads and Republican politicians? Why should he answer gotcha questions from a right-wing rump of the media? Is that the way you think the legal process should work? The scientific method teaches respect for facts, evidence, and only accepting hypotheses after they have been tested to destruction. Sadly, I don't see any respect for those attributes from pro-Trump supporters on this thread, it is all what-aboutism, look over there, and it's a lefty conspiracy. Sticking up for Trump is a bit like saying Stalin was good for the Ukrainians in 1931. All the facts and evidence say he has been a disaster for America, except for the very rich.
