What Americans Want and why Democrats Failed
Lacessit replied to NickyLouie's topic in Political Soapbox
Average American debt is $22,000. Yes, there will be a BOOM. Inflation. Tax cuts and tariffs guarantee it. Buy precious metals. The US dollar is going down. Countries are lining up to join BRICS. When it reaches critical mass, USD will lose reserve currency status. The turkeys voted for Christmas. -
Thailand's Expats Urged to Register with TRD for Tax, Says Expert

Any savings prior to 2024 are non-taxable. You would need statements to show the balances on 31/12/2023. It's 180 days. You would need to stay in other countries for 185 days in the calendar year. -
Thailand's Expats Urged to Register with TRD for Tax, Says Expert

I have enough in pre-2024 savings to last for the next 5-6 years of expenses. My pension can accumulate in an Australian bank. As for a TIN here, I will get one when Immigration tells me I need one. -
Not as far as I know. It takes a drive through places such as Wilcannia, Murrum Bridge, Fitzroy Crossing and Halls Creek to realize how much is spent on free housing and vehicles, and how much gets wasted.

I give it 1-2 years before the swing voters realize they have been conned yet again by someone who is throwing them under the bus, now they have served their purpose. Tax cuts and tariff wars guarantee it. The lawfare delusion is well entrenched in Trump supporters, no point in arguing with people who have that as an article of faith. Bye now.

I try to be courteous on ASEAN. Some posters make the effort as difficult as they can. Try looking up the translation of the Latin phrase " Nemo me impune lacessit". It's also the national motto of Scotland, I have ancestors there.

In other words, the fix is in because Trump won. Had he lost, different story. Trump was convicted by a jury of his peers. There is nothing in the trial which says Merchan conducted himself inappropriately, except in the fevered imagination of Trump supporters. You may be right, Merchan may be disbarred. However, that will only be because Trump will exercise presidential power to be vindictive. The usual cheap shot at the end of your post, when will you guys grow up?

I was unaware you had extensive experience in the cultural and historical milieu. It works in reverse in Australia, there are significant financial advantages for those claiming Aboriginal ancestry. Thank you for responding courteously, which is more than I can say for some posters on this thread.

A lie. Trump illegally held on to documents as EX=president, after being repeatedly asked to return them. Voice recording of Trump discussing said documents is evidence in the indictment by Jack Smith. Another lie. I suppose the world will have to get used to a stream of lies. That's OK, it will get to the point no-one will trust America or Americans.

I suppose you were first in line to attack Harris for using word salads.

Here's an interesting fact for you. It's kept black Americans sourly amused for centuries. Miscegenation was very common in the years of slavery. Some of the offspring were so light-skinned they could be regarded as white. When you see a rally of white supremacists, some of the most hate-filled faces belong to people whose ancestors passed for white years ago, and they carry that awareness within themselves. Try reading the book " Black Like Me" by John Howard Griffin. It's a white man's journey into the Deep South of America during racial segregation. He disguised himself as a black man. Mock as much as you want, the fact remains racial hatred is still very alive in America.

Trump sold the message he would stop immigration, and lower living costs. Those were the principal concerns of voters. It remains to be seen if he can stop immigration. One thing for sure, his promise to lower living costs is utter BS. Imposing tariffs on imports is a sure-fire way to raise them. Brace yourselves, Americans. Inflation is coming to visit.

I mean Trump illegally retaining top secret documents, then showing them off to visitors at Mar-a-Lardo to feed his ego. Your worship of Trump fails to take into account every other country will regard him as a major security risk, who can't be trusted with any secrets. When Trump "cleans house", as you put it, he will be replacing experienced operatives with personal appointees who will only tell him what they think he wants to hear. The same structure that had Putin thinking the war in Ukraine would be over in a week. It does not surprise me that you and others on this thread lack the intelligence to understand the ramifications, in typical Trump fashion shooting the messenger instead.

I know many Americans are up themselves so far they risk disappearing.
-
75% of Americans are white. I very much doubt blacks were offended.
-
I am not surprised your attention span only stretches to three words.

I am guessing when Harris made Trump look stupid in the presidential debate, that actually rebounded against her in the minds of white voters.

Visited many times, work-related. Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, St. Louis, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, New York, San Antonio, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Portland, Connecticut, Detroit, Honolulu. World's best at logistics. O'Hare airport is mind-blowing. Best food in New Orleans, with Cajun and Creole cuisine. Food served in excessive portions, no wonder many Americans are obese. Houston has the history of the skyscraper. Palpable racial hatred in the northern cities. I could go on for quite a while, IMO that's enough. Your turn.

Sorry, no. An interesting array of triviality. If you could tell me the difference in carrying capacity of the Pilbara and a Western Land Lease in NSW, I'd be impressed. Or knowing the difference between a kangaroo and a wallaby. I think you meant Steve Irwin. As for Indonesia, did you know it is actually 14,000 islands, with over 30 different tribal cultures and building methods? Or that when renting a house there, the landlord takes a year's rental in advance?

Stated with your usual grace and charm.

The US is self-sufficient in energy, food and water. It imports most of its pharmaceuticals and plastics. It is not self-sufficient in manufacturing capacity, most of which has been exported overseas in the last 4 decades. Bringing it back is going to be a major cost exercise. Financial advisers recommend savings of at least three month's living expenses, to weather financial hiccups such as job loss or sickness. The average personal debt level in America is $22,000. America is on a razor's edge. Many don't know it.
