  1. Getting on a scooter when p!ssed.
  2. It depends. For non-emergency ailments, the wait times are as you say, and it is better to attend a clinic. For emergency admissions, one is triaged, followed by diagnosis after testing. In my case, I had an ECG and chest X'ray. I was in a hospital bed with an antibiotic IV in my arm about two hours after presenting.
  3. A private hospital, presumably.
  4. I recently had two nights in a government hospital with pneumonia, caused by a bacterial infection. Round-the clock nursing care 4 bedside visits by doctors over 2 days, At least three antibiotic IV’s, plus saline infusions Sundry decongestant and anti-nausea meds. An ECG and Chest X’ray, Four blood tests, including troponin measurements. Take-home pack of antibiotics and paracetamol. All for a grand total of just under 7000 baht. I regard that as a screaming bargain. A blood test at Mengrai Labs is usually 1000 baht. Losartan for hypertension is about 200 baht for a month's supply. A consultation with a cardiologist in Chiang Rai costs me 400 baht, Perhaps the OP should be shopping around.
  5. While you are probably the successor to UbonJoe (RIP), I'd suggest you could use some of his patience with posters.
  6. Yes I did. I was trying to help with additional information.
  7. I recently spent two nights at this hospital, after a diagnosis of pneumonia. I presented at the Emergency Department with a fever of 39 C, uncontrollable shaking, and a pulse rate of 140 bpm. Plus my pink Thai ID card. In summary, I had: Round-the clock nursing care 4 bedside visits by doctors over 2 days, At least three antibiotic IV’s, plus saline infusions Sundry decongestant and anti-nausea meds. An ECG and Chest X’ray, Four blood tests, including troponin measurements. Take-home pack of antibiotics and paracetamol. All for a grand total of just under 7000 baht. I regard that as a screaming bargain. Given the amount of patient traffic the hospital has to handle every day, IMO the staff do an outstanding job. Two things stand out for me from this experience: 1/ The importance of having simple tools such as a BP monitor and body thermometer to determine one's state of health. 2/ The value of having a Thai partner to take care of you, and negotiate the hospital bureaucracy.
  8. I use Firefox in a Linux OS. It does not work. I'll be testing my login again through my condo manager' s Windows system.
  9. The retirement extension TM 7 form has a TM 6 field.
  10. IMO the Trumpers are getting way ahead of themselves. The record number of early mail - in votes is saying something. Permit me to doubt it's in Trump's favor.
  11. Not quite, but pretty close. That's OK, she gives back in many ways.
  12. You're back? I am wondering how long it is before your next holiday.
  13. What I posted was an opinion, based on my experience here. You would probably need to move out of your circle of Bible-bashers to get the same experience. So the rabbis and mullahs brainwash children, and Christianity does not? Get real. What you call common sense is belief, with no science to back it up. Some of the nuttier sects even try to deny the evidence of evolution. You believe there is a life after this one. I believe there is nothing, make the most of this one, because it's all we get. We'll see who is right soon enough.
  14. I said 99% in Thailand were transactional. I am still waiting for factual data from you that rebuts that assertion. "You see things as they are". Really. You worship a religion which brainwashes children, has developed an unsavory reputation for sexual abuse, and makes the protection of property the #1 priority. Yeah right. Noted you still have no cogent response to my post w.r.to the daft concept of original sin.
  15. The frothing at the mouth as November 5 approaches is reaching a crescendo. Putin has skin in the game, so does Zelensky and NATO. Hardly surprising influence would be brought to bear on both sides. I am disappointed in the media, and its sane-washing of Trump comments. Every bizarre utterance seems to get a free pass, because, well, it's Trump.
  16. "Narcissists are the ones that look at relationships as transactional. There are many that look for trust, companionship, care, shared times and a future together as partners and not someone to use or gain from. If yours were all transactional, maybe you should look inward and ask yourself why. " IMO that is tantamount to calling me a narcissist. Personally, I think all relationships start as transactional, in Thailand or elsewhere. Men are evaluating whether the woman they have met is worth the time and trouble of bedding. Women are attracted to power, intelligence, looks and money. There are very few places on the planet where women earn the same amount of money as men. You may think in more purist terms, but that's just your cockeyed Christian morality at work. Have you ever wondered why some very attractive women end up with complete sleazebags and criminals? It's doubtful it's for love, trust, or even companionship. "Again, yes, I think most relationships here between us and them start out as the financial kind, and then could grow into something more "normal", where the more important things are companionship, care and love." So in effect, you are now agreeing with me.
  17. They can also love their man. However, the man definitely takes second place behind their children.
  18. Thanks for the advice. How would I be wasting my time?
  19. Isn't it a bit early to be drinking?
  20. I was the only foreigner in a COVID quarantine facility for 14 days, in a provincial hospital. My GF was much sicker than I was, because she had read Facebook, and rejected vaccination when it was available. Camping out in shearer's quarters in outback New South Wales was good preparation.
  21. Narcissism is a complex psychological disorder, with many facets. Such as the need for praise and attention, lack of empathy, a grandiose sense of self, entitlement, envy of others. I have none of those attributes. Calling me a narcissist, because my current relationship of more than ten years started off as transactional, is as shallow as a mud puddle. BTW, my previous two relationships were 28 and 16 years. Narcissists shed relationships like deciduous trees. Give me an estimate, if you know so much about it. What percentage of relationships between Thais and foreigners start out as the loving, caring type you describe, and how many started as transactional?
  22. You're assuming each and every Thai has family ties which would enable the borrowing of a scooter within 5 seconds. Statistically, that's nonsense. AFAIK most of the people using tuktuks and songtaews are Thai. You think those vehicles are solely for foreigners? Happy you are amused, You've reminded me of the small minds aphorism.
  23. Then the relatives have to find other transport. Pawn shops are not charitable organisations. There's the inconvenience of having to shell out for tuk-tuks and songthaews. What would you do if you lost your wheels for a month, smartypants?
  24. There is accommodation close to Singha Park tea plantation, 700 -1100 baht/night. Chui Fong is more remote, 40 km outside the city up Doi Mae Salong. IIRC there are a couple of resorts there too.
  25. I broke my arm in a scooter accident about a year ago, and spent a night in hospital. My GF slept on the floor next to my bed, to take care of me. She brought me food from outside as the hospital food was inedible.
