King Charles: Australia's Future as a Republic Rests with Its People
Lacessit replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I'm afraid you are not an Australian. You're just a British sycophant who was indoctrinated at an early age, and are incapable of critical thinking. -
Oh good, a driveling competition.

Personally attacking me is argument ad hominem. It means you have run out of options for honest argument. I suggest you read "Straight and Crooked Thinking" by R H Thouless, to understand your dishonesty. While you are about it, read " Monash -the Outsider who Won the War" by Roland Perry. It details how the British establishment , including Haig, never acknowledged Monash's role in ending WW1 - because he was Jewish. You are obviously a snob cut from the same cloth. Your comment about my intelligence and education is so far off the mark to be laughable. How many scholarships were you awarded on your way through primary, secondary and tertiary education? I had three. Here's an anecdote from direct experience - the vice-regal Governor of Victoria, Sir Dallas Brooks. An avid golfer, he was described by a fawning local media as a top Victorian golfer. Which was total bullsh!t - he'd be lucky to achieve a single figure handicap, from what I saw as his caddie on a few occasions. To me, gullibility is people accepting the carefully curated image of royalty, when they eat, sh!t and <deleted> just like anyone else. Hopefully, when the current occupant of the throne carks it, Australians will grow up and shed an outmoded and superfluous institution. -
All Australian coastal cities have a river going through them, hence the concentration of population. Inland is not too hot in winter, it can be bloody cold. The main deterrent to settlement is the lack of permanent water in most of inland Australia, the Murray is the only exception.

Your avoidance of answering my question speaks volumes. I was once at a golf tournament where one of my playing partners was ex-security at Buckingham Palace. He revealed Prince Philip was well-known for forcing himself on maids of honor. The Queen was apparently aware of his activities. When you used the term boorish, Phil the Greek sprung to mind. An over-privileged lout who thought he could do and say anything he wanted. His genes evidently carried on. Tug the forelock and grovel all you want before the altar of royalty. I have more self-respect. -

I guess that's why you can't shut up yourself. -

You're not the one answering my question either. However, that was expected. Either you have strayed yourself, or you have not. If you have, it makes you a hypocrite to be talking about double standards. At least I can say I have never bonked a woman married to someone else, unlike Charlie. -

IIRC his discussion with Camilla ( while he was still married to Diana ) went beyond the tampon thing. Something along the lines of in and out. Camilla is a very good example of carefully curated public opinion. Perhaps you can post the transcript, I can't be bothered. -
In some ways, America is better than Australia. Your mastery of logistics is incredible. You have abundant agricultural land, and plentiful water. You have the world's best military. In other ways, you are abysmal. We have never had to train our children in how to avoid being shot at school. We are not saddled with an incomprehensible Electoral College. We don't have to shell out a fortune in health insurance and drugs to stay alive. I could go on, but I think you get my drift.

My son is like me, we have our values. They don't include listening to sanctimonious bigots who have no idea of our circumstances. So you are as pure as the driven snow? Never indulged in hanky panky? -

Yes I have. However, I am not in the public eye. I am not supposed to lead by example. I can also say I have never wished to be a tampon, as the current monarch has. -

I doubt the ANZACs who lost their lives due to British incompetence in WW1 would agree with you. There's a statue of Douglas Hague in Whitehall. Only the British could commemorate a person who was one of the worst butchers in military history. Tell me why Australians should respect and have affection for a dysfunctional family, harboring serial adulterers and a pedophile. Boorish? As someone else said, you can't handle the truth. -

I think you will find even the monarchist faction was thinking he's lost the plot. Abbott emigrated to Australia when he was 13 yo. He's never really been Australian, even when he was wearing budgie smugglers. IMO a British quisling. -

IIRC Australia will be shelling out $360 BILLION for secondhand submarines. How many drones for naval and land warfare would that money buy? The Americans must regard us as absolute suckers for a bad deal. -

When did I say I knew how all Australians think? I remember the tour of 1954, when schoolkids were dragooned into standing at roadsides, some passing out from fatigue and heat. That's when I decided the whole royalty shtick was antiquated BS. -

As a baiting post, that's a pretty pathetic effort. I think you'll find Chuckles only comes to Australia by invitation. -

If Russia has not run out of artillery shells, why is it buying them from North Korea? If its military is not demoralised, why are there multiple recordings of soldiers complaining about their equipment, food and officers? What massacre of ethnic Russians? Creditable links please. IIRC Stalin starved 6 million Ukrainians to death during the Holodomor. Putin annexed Crimea illegally. He then repeated the dose by invading the Donbas. Quite true, aircraft carriers are more vulnerable. It does not change the fact America is the only country that can project power globally. I suggest you check out how many military aircraft America has, compared to everyone else. The competence of the Russian navy can be measured by the fact it has been forced to retreat from Sevastopol by a nation with no navy of its' own. Putin has consistently said he wants to restore the Soviet Union to its former glory. Ukraine is only the first step in achieving his aspiration. NATO is a defensive treaty. There is nothing in its articles which permits the invasion of any non-NATO country. I don't know where you get the idea Putin is regarded as a weakling. Opponents are regularly poisoned, defenestrated, or imprisoned. He has made some major mistakes by listening to the cadre of intelligence functionaries he brought with him into power. They tell him what they think he wants to hear. Quite a political coup for Putin, when Finland and Sweden applied to join NATO. The Russian Federation is in the process of destroying itself. The Western technologists who kept their oil flowing are gone. The demographic is 87 men to 100 women. Interest rates at 18%. No one wants rubles. The home-grown engineers and scientists are all at retirement age. The best and brightest have fled Russia, to escape being drafted for the Ukraine meat grinder. The purchasers of Russian military equipment are having buyer's remorse. It sounds like you are reciting from a Kremlin playbook, tovarisch. -

You have not stated a single justification for having a British head of state for Australia. You've never been to Australia, why are you so interested? You're afraid of running out of colonials to look down on? It's allegiances. One "I", not two. -

As I have not consumed alcohol for about 18 months, your sledge is wide of the mark. My guess is you are one of the forelock tuggers that emigrated to Australia, and brought your outdated allegiances with you. History says the Americans got tired of British exploitation, and told the Brits to p!ss off. So did India, more peaceably. Time Australia grew up, obviously you can't. -

I am just wondering when the culture changed from one of acknowledging one's own mistakes, and moving on, to blaming someone else for problems caused by one's own stupidity.

If you are not on the booze, I'd suggest some proofreading before you post. No hidden agenda, Howard was quite open about what he wanted, along with his fellow bootlickers. Still waiting for your explanation of the UK's relevance. I won't hold my breath. Every time we have a visit from Charlie or his disreputable sprogs, it costs the Australian taxpayer a fortune. P!ss off is my reaction. -
It's also a matter of $767 million Fox had to fork over to Dominion just to avoid a trial. I wonder how much Smartmatic will get?
