  1. I can see the resident scaremonger and doomsayer has decided to join this thread. I can't be accused of tax evasion if I am transferring funds from pre-2024 savings. Tell me why I should put myself under a spotlight by going to a tax office. Tell me what crime I have committed by letting them come to me. Then estimate the probability of tax officers leaving their air-conditioned offices to come and find me.
  2. History shows America goes into wars dragging its allies with it, then pulls out when the American public is tired of the cost, in money or bodies. The US is great at 100 metre sprints. It's no good for distance events.
  3. You are saying you are smarter than AI. Prove it.
  4. Cancer can be genetically inherited. It can also be caused by environmental factors, such as smoking, alcohol and obesity. IIRC Sir Percival Pott was the first to link cancer to an occupation, that of London chimney sweeps. The treatment of cancer has advanced in leaps and bounds. I would not be posting if it had not.
  5. America did a lot for Japan. It did nothing for China, you are attempting to revise history. You probably don't understand China is a hybrid economy, a mixture of capitalism and state-controlled enterprises. Hybrids have a history of being successful. Ask Tiger Woods. Over the last 20 years, Chinese GDP grew on average by 8-10% a year. US GDP grew by 2-3%. China has invested massively in infrastructure and manufacturing technologies. America is picayune in comparison. It's 2025, and the whole of America has 80 km of high speed rail? But don't let facts get in the way of your ignorant and somewhat illiterate rants.
  6. Yes, we understand. You are smarter than AI, and the thousands of immunologists, virologists and epidemiologists who have contributed their knowledge to it. You discount the mountains of evidence for the existence of viruses. Instead, we are supposed to believe you have the answers, despite you advancing no evidence, only assertions. "What is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence". Hitchin's Razor. Please found a town of followers in Guyana, you are wasted here.
  7. Too bad they can't inject vaccines that make people smarter. There are posters on ASEAN in desperate need of them.
  8. AFAIK there is a luxurious nursing home off the 118 on the way out of Chiang Mai, heading towards Chiang Rai. 90,000 baht/month, I understand it includes very co-operative nurses, who will hold your willy to pee when you slither out of bed at 2 am. Then tuck you back in, with a fresh tube of KY. It's run by the Swiss, say goodbye to your problems of moving your ill-gotten gains from crypto speculation. Fear not, Thailand has options for everyone.
  9. The army did what it was told by a treasonous little turd of a PM. Don't think for a nanosecond the average Australian agrees with spending our blood and treasure on your adventurism.
  10. I thought you had declared the thread closed a few posts ago. Are your brain cells connected to your typing fingers?
  11. That's where the agent comes in, to provide the funds temporarily. An agent is unnecessary if the foreigner has the 400/800K baht to begin with. I don't know why there is a freeze in Pattaya on agents doing Non Imm O extensions. However, IMO it does create a considerable problem for those foreigners with insufficient funds.
  12. America was only too happy to have Australian boots on the ground in a number of its military adventures. You should read history, instead of trying to revise it.
  13. You get my monthly award for the best retort on ASEAN. Brilliant.
  14. AFAIK the agent opens an account in the foreigner's name for a nominal balance, then tips in 800K baht before getting the visa or extension. The 800K is then withdrawn a day or so afterwards. The corrupt IO gets a substantial bribe to overlook the fact the money has none of the seasoning requirements, I am guessing 10-15K baht.
  15. The title of this thread should read: " JD manages to alienate a few more allies".
  16. He is not Daniel, sticking his head into the lions' den is not a good idea.
  17. Coming from you, the ultimate accolade.
  18. When an Immigration Officer requires me to have a TIN and/or tax return to extend my visa, I will get one. Until then, the tax office can come to me.
  19. I won't be paying any tax, as I have about 5-6 years' worth of pre-2024 savings to draw on. You have evidence Immigration is asking for proof of tax payments when foreigners renew their visas?
  20. Did you go to the tax office, or did they come to you?
  21. I have my 800K in the bank. I don't use agents. Next.
  22. Musk has the sense of humor of a scorpion. It was deliberate and defamatory. If I called you that, would you think I was joking?
  23. Money determines what is defamatory. Musk defamed a British diving expert during the Thai cave rescue, by calling him a pedophile after the guy rubbished Musk's submarine idea. He got away with it, because he had a much bigger wallet to pay lawyers.
  24. Don't you know motoring writers are the equivalent of journalistic prostitutes? They write according to who gives out the best invitations to trade shows and sporting events. Sales figures are the best guide. BYD overtook Tesla as the biggest seller in 2022. It was only Biden tariffs that helped Tesla get back market leader position in 2024. Worldwide, BYD leads. I have run out of insults for you, and it's not through lack of imagination. You might want to think about that.
  25. As I understand it, one of the Japanese EV carmakers tore down a BYD they had purchased, for the purpose of reverse engineering. They were gobsmacked by how far ahead of their own vehicles the BYD was, in terms of technology. Another demonstration of your abject ignorance.
