  1. At first glance I thought it was an insect nest, or an animal enclodure but I've been told it's part of the ongoing professional infrastructure. - Electrical System Development Projects. It's nice to see that the engineers have left some space for the pedestrian, thanks guys. ????
  2. They are hideous, unsightly, atrocious, nasty, horrendous, vile looking but they keep my family safe. I have smoke alarms fitted and several external doors that allow easy exit if needed. I hope one day you never have a sorry moment for removing your security grills. Bought my house in 2001, still living in the same village/moo Baan. Sadly I've seen alot break and enters over the many years which wouldn't have happened had they had security grills fitted. Life is full of choices, if family safety is jeopardized I'm going with the safe option.
  3. Treetops, any QLD relation with your name? Just asking, I lived Treetops on the Gold Coast, Burleigh Waters for many years. Had some of the best years of my life.
  4. No flipage damage visable, must have been a double summersault, backflip. There are many ghosts in Thailand. I see these ghosts all the time when my wife is watching the movie Channel.
  5. Just when we thought it was safe to go out.
  6. I'm the same, except my entrance door is closed... Yet another benefit of a high level condo He lives in a house.
  7. Same here. I do not even lock the doors when I leave the island Same here. When I'm staying on my island I never lock the house. The wife doesn't agree, she's always wanting to lockup.
  8. Wow, you have heaps of competition, so many AN members have the same title.
  9. Yes, agree. It's so strange, 20 years ago when I bought my first house, it seemed strange that these houses were selling for around 3 or 4 million baht and in their driveways were cars of the same price. In Australia, I'd say your car is around 10% (ballpark) of the value of your home.
  10. It's totalled mate. Going Bentley heaven. We will see it rebirthed. The insurers will sell the wreck and a repairer will fit it out with unroadworthy parts, then onsold to an unsuspecting purchaser.
  11. Very common, a friend moved to a house here and all the windows and doors have these grills, and all of them simply kept in place by like 6 very common screws Pay a little more when installing window security grills/bars, get a professional installer. Common practice when using a professional tradesman/installer is to tack weld the exposed removable nuts. Saying that, I doubt a thief would go to the trouble of removing security grills if the owners were home having a party.
  12. Me, doors and windows open all day, every day. At home or not Unprotected? Exposed? Well don't come complaining when you get robbed.
  13. Bloody stupid story. The more I think about it, the more I think that this is an inside job. Happened to a mate of mine, his wife got her friend, told him where the valuables were stashed and when they would be out.
  14. Who leaves an unprotected, exposed window open these days. These unauthorized entries happen all over the world. You want to leave a window open get bars or camera's maybe a dog. Be accountable, don't be complaining when things go pear shaped because of your neglect.
  15. Mental health issues, should get treatment. Next time his aggression I'm sure will be with more violence Fake apologies for reduction in prosecution. Be very careful old lady, anyone that attacks an old lady can't be trusted.
  16. Move on mate, get the hell out of there, she's messing with your mind. Let this be a lesson, next time find accommodation that you can PAY the electric bill directly to PEA. I've got the PEA App, I have 4 properties (4 bills) each month to pay, the App combines the bills and I pay the total through Rabbit LinePay. I get charged a total of 5 baht commission for the 4 bills. Easy ????????
  17. A few years after this road was opened a local expat (on his Harley) who owned a business installing swimming pools, if remember he had a shop on Theprasit, was killed (10 years ago). This road is a widow maker.
  18. Agree I've been using MrT for over a decade. No big issues to discuss, very pleased.
  19. I also worked in India for a couple of years and never saw an attractive Indian woman, when young some look OK, not for me. Anyway, I got turned off big time when I saw a woman having a #2, squatting in the street.
  20. Oh dear, I can see a heart break story coming. Poor guy risking his life for love. Time to find a new wife. I worked in Vietnam and found the Vietnamese woman beautiful. I got attached to one beauty, they are everywhere. It's A no-brainer to stay put in Vietnam, it's a healthy option.
  21. Yes, me too. They spend a lot of time down there, it's a popular resting place. They look so comfortable, I prefer a chair to sit and relax. Being in that squatting position would bring on a #2, good for the morning dropping of the Bomb.
  22. What a horrible place to live, all those noisy, speeding bikes, riders crashing, emergency vehicles racing around, sirens ablaze. Not for me. These people must never get any sleep, they have a crowd at their house, maybe they offer entertainment nights for the ghoulish and gruesome.
