  1. If you are staying at different locations I'd say what you are doing is the best option, keep it cooler. Nothing better than sleeping in your own bed. Sadly, I travel every month, you just can't get the ambience right sleeping in different locations.
  2. I reckon you're asking the wrong crowd for this posting. It depends on the individual. 1. Time spent in hot regions. 2. Fitness. 3. Age Lots of factors to consider, most of the guys here I reckon are overweight/obese, only lived UK and Thailand. You need a larger sample size. It depends where I'm sleeping, the condo I have is like a cave, faces the east, never warms up so the AC rarely goes on at night. The house gets much hotter and stays hot, AC goes on every night at 25 degrees. The kids like it colder, their rooms always at 22 degrees, think blankets.
  3. I'M LIVING THE DREAM. 👌 Thailand has been my home for over 20 years, I've been most places and done most things, I never get bored, I love Thailand to pieces, thanks so much Thailand 🙏 I like your thoughts regarding long bike ride but please don't take the mrs. If she gets hurt you'll never forgive yourself. A few years ago I rode Pattaya to Koh Kong (Cambodia) and back, the best ride of my life but very dangerous. The big trucks coming from the other direction at speed, it's like hitting a wall, you must keep focused, it's not for the unskilled. The rain, it comes down sideways, I dumped the raincoat, bloody noisy, I rode for an hour in the rain then dried out the next hour, this went on for hours. As you get closer to Cambodia, the views from Sukhumvit Road, it overlooks the ocean, those beautiful beaches, narrowest part of Thailand. I'M THE LUCKIEST GUY ON THE PLANET, THANKS GOD 👍
  4. Yes, I agree, everyday I see weird and angry Thais, it's Thailand, it's to be expected. In Australia I see many weird and angry Australians. Its really <deleted> up that I see so many weird and angry foreigners here in Thailand. I don't see many weird and angry foreigners on the roads in Australia. Look at the above posting, vulgar, offensive comment remove. What sort of weird, angry foreigner is posting this offensive stuff? Probably the same weird, angry foreigners I see on the roads daily.
  5. Surely you're making this stuff up 🤔
  6. Must be desperate, despite the fact that the economy, officially, is growing fast, and almost everyone being employed.. It was a joke 😮
  7. I reckon something in that horrible brown sauce. HP 🤮
  8. Why is there a pile of rubbish? Plenty of council rubbish bins on the soi's.
  9. I reckon its a fake posting, the OP is bored, too much free time. He's a creative writer.
  10. This makes a change, Kuwaiti's are usually 2 or 3 up riding their scooters helmet less in groups of 30+, terrorizing the locals here in Pattaya.
  11. Yes, sorry I am easily amused. The comment did make me chuckle...... he said he would NEVER join a club that would accept him as a member. It got me thinking about other things.
  12. Speaking of begging, During covid the owner of FM103 had a gofundme page.
  13. This is what AN forums need, more humour. 🤣 Well done, thanks for the laugh mate. 👍
  14. It seems to be the norm these days, the owner of the local radio station FM103, Tommy Dee does the same thing.
  15. Oh, phew, that's a relief. I was in the running for the Billy BS award this month, looks like Dan has won it. 👍
  16. I made Thailand my home in my 30's, I'm now in my 50's. Over the many years I've had many friends in their 70's, all been good, happy people. I don't meet many new people these days, just stick to my large family and the friends I've got. You could be right regarding age and grumpiness, not sure of the demographic of the members that troll me, maybe it's the elderly.
  17. What happened to expats here in Thailand, it never used to be like this, many years ago expats were fun to be with but sadly they are now what you have described, I've read so many other comments from members with similar feelings. Its horrible now posting or commenting on this forum, you get attacked at times. I'm Australian, I can take the attacks and criticism but it's really weird reading all the hate comments. I've been a member of AN for over 6 years. Sadly today I blocked a couple of annoying, antagonizing members after learning you can block members, what a wonderful feature. It seems some of the Brits are angry here in Thailand, Dan About Thailand, he's English but has made a vlog, saying that the Brits can be the biggest moaners in Thailand. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/yoRspYqpyd15V5Kc/?mibextid=oFDknk
  18. I didn't know it was a feature, thanks for the heads up. 👍 I googled it and found an old AN posting. Here it is for those other members who do not know. Wish I knew about it years ago. BTW, at times I think the forum is a preschool the way some members carry on.
  19. I wish I knew about this year's ago.
  20. 👍found it 😊 What a great feature 🙏 On my android phone I went to my home page then other settings
  21. Sadly most these days.
  22. Many years ago I became a member (life) of Pattaya Expats Club, I went for a while, probably because I was bored and wanted to learn more about my neighborhood. We are lucky these days social media, forums like Asean Now where we can ask questions, so many knowledgeable members. I'd say some expats are bored only trolling on forums annoying others, these are the guys that attend.
  23. Oh, thanks, I overlooked that. Yes, probably just a local guy who called himself a tour guide.
  24. I don't think they are spending any money, free air-conditioned comfort. At a Cafe they would be forced to buy something.
