  1. Worse. Thai wife had Schwannoma tumours in one leg. Previously had them in the other leg and surgically removed. Doctor at Regional Government Hospital Tumour Clinic told us the options are; 1) Leave them alone (because they are benign) or, 2) I can remove them. However, be warned they grow attached to the nerves so there may be loss of sensation which may either be temporary or permanent. My wife opted for surgery. All went well (for the second time). In UK I believe the NHS wouldn't have given her the option of surgery.
  2. Presently using iPhone 8 Plus. Purchased 3 years ago when it was then 5 years old. Does everything I need. 5th Generation mobile data and eSIM are the only updates I would use. A few apps no longer update although nothing crucial as yet. The other day the 'home' button stopped working although the fingerprint feature remains operational. I read that it's often software or firmware related so did a factory reset. Unfortunately, the issue persists. Simple workaround is to use assistive touch. Was thinking of updating to iPhone 11 or 12. However, iPhone 17 might be a better and longer term solution.
  3. Awful tragedy. German measles (Rubella) vaccine wasn't available until 1970. My mum told me she called the GP out to me for whooping cough as a baby (mid 50s). He told her; 'he can't have whooping cough he's too young. As he turned to walk away fortunately I made the appropriate noise. GP was, apparently, most apologetic!
  4. How does UK NHS help you in Thailand? Also, have you recently (last 15 years) tried to get anything done? They have pre-prepared answers e.g. 'It's only happened the once' and; 'It's not serious enough (yet)'.
  5. The figures mentioned don't include the 450+ arrested previously. Anyone heard what has been done with those demonstrators?
  6. Many thanks, most helpful. I have recently returned to the UK from Thailand hence change in my diet. Definitely less sugar and probably less salt too. I have been using moisturiser (Aloe Vera) which has reduced the frequency considerably. As you say, it could be a combination of causes.
  7. The likelihood of a Thai specialist dentist with his own practice wasting his time on here is zero. Two possibilities; 1) Trolling the troll or 2) The troll trolling himself. Knowing about your multiple 'personalities' I would choose option 2.
  8. Last hotel I stayed in (Hua Hin) I watched what the check-in staff did with my passport. They made a photocopy of the data page and wrote the date my next 90 day report was due on it.
  9. Thanks Sheryl, I don't take any medication or recreational drugs. Too much tea and coffee maybe. Strangely, I haven't had any repetition since rubbing in lots of Aloe Vera.
  10. Wow! And thank you most kindly! Exactly the advice I was looking for. I have now applied Aloe Vera liberally and will continue to do so. I will keep a record of future developments myself (hopefully improvement) and thank you for your kind offer to assist.
  11. Thank you. However, that is, of course, assuming the cause actually is formication. I was really asking if any other members experience similar? It maybe that my relatively minor symptoms are indications of something else?
  12. Recently experienced repeated sensations of insects crawling on my neck and now also on the back of my right hand. I'm forever scratching and checking for insects but have yet to find any. Google gives 'Formication' as an explanation. How common is this? Do other members experience similar? Suffer is too strong a word. At least, at present!
  13. How about this? My stepdaughter is a recently qualified tattoo artist. She inked this body donation information onto a local headteacher. Good idea?
  14. Correct! 60 years ago in UK my father was vandalising our house. My mother called the police who immediately came out with; 'We can't get involved in domestic arguments'. Fortunately, she was quick thinking and told them he had a Gurkha knife from WW2. They then had 'words'. No repetition.
  15. I too favour Windows 7 for it's lightness, ease of navigation and appearance. Recently discovered 'Reunion7' which is Windows 7 with Windows 10 kernel. Allows you to instal newer programs. Apparently, the next version is in the oven. Worth checking out especially as it's free. https://reunion7.com/downloads.html
  16. Especially if also taking no regular medication.
  17. Agree. Even the websites that only give you strange characters to read give me gyp. However, if you keep clicking they seem to give you an easier one to read! Only yesterday I was made aware of shopping website; www.DHgate.com You might find it interesting?
  18. Interesting, many thanks. I'm probably going to soon be in the same position. I'm in UK until further notice with my Retirement Extension likely to expire before I can return. Applying for a DTV whilst in UK would be a good solution. However, I have no diagnosed medical conditions, don't take regular medication and have no appointment history or planned forward appointments in Thailand. I'm assuming your circumstances are different?
  19. That's the way it goes unfortunately. My mother's scan was cancer negative, gastro endoscopy (visual and biopsy) both cancer negative and blood tests normal. She died four weeks later of metastatic disease.
  20. Prepare yourself for some serious trolling!
  21. Many thanks for your report. I'm sure the decision was correct.
  22. Sorry for the circumstances and credit to you for your humanity and ingenuity. Never would have thought to try an Indian travel agent when not travelling to/from India! The proprietor sounds top! I wonder, had you not purchased that London flight on British Airways, whether it would have appeared online on British Airways website and/or online third-party travel agents sites? Could be the airlines have special relationships with travel agents?
  23. Not everyone would qualify under (medical). There are no treatment plans for natural degenerative changes although they can substantially restrict mobility. An OAP is hardly likely to sign up for a Muay Thai boxing course when they need a hand getting into and out of a vehicle. I'm looking for an agent to provide the necessary documents and, ideally, financial proof as they do for Non-O Retirement Visas and extensions thereafter.
  24. You use the word 'properly'. With regard to DTV, you do actually have valid reason to apply. Incidentally, processing doesn't appear to be administered 'properly' by Thai Consulates. There have been reports of applications being 'cancelled' or 'rejected' with no reason stated. To prepare my paperwork, pay course fees and also risk $400 USD which might then involve more work asking my bank for a chargeback on my credit card isn't the way I wish to go. One agent charges $150 USD to verify applications and guarantee success or your money back. I would rather save what I would have to spend on course fees and pay an agent for the complete application process.
  25. As am I. Celsius pointed out why the medical route wouldn't apply to some/many and his aversion to signing up for courses. I agree with him. Would love to hear of any reputable visa agents who can provide supporting documents and/or certify the financial requirement as necessary (similar to retirement Non-O visas and extensions?)
