I thought that's a program specifically for poor countries. Thailand doesn't strike me as poor anymore.

I'll buy an extra pack of chestnuts and that will be my grand contribution to CNY.

I don’t think so.
Don't overthink it. If you had been hanging out in tourist areas last year, surely you'd have noticed.

Definitely not doable for as long as quarantine remains in place.
Only a tiny fraction of potential (mostly long-term) tourists is both willing and able to spend the first two weeks of their vacation in quarantine. No amount of putting lipstick on that pig will change that.

It's almost a no-brainer, air and beaches are much better in Phuket. The only thing that Hua Hin has going for it in my book is its proximity to Bangkok (if you need that).

How's that news? Whenever I visited Pattaya last year, plenty of "tourist area" 7/11s were already shuttered.

Ordering vaccines and getting them delivered in the required quantities needs to come first though. Which is where the problem lies.

This looks like a dangerous strategy. Experts in many countries seem to believe that administering just a single dose - or delaying the 2nd dose for a long time - increases the likelihood of the emergence of vaccine resistant strains.

"Oxford University and AstraZeneca have started adapting the vaccine against this variant and will advance rapidly through clinical development so that it is ready for Autumn delivery should it be needed," the AstraZeneca spokesman said.
What an idiotic statement, even coming from a spokesman. It is needed, before autumn. Let's hope other vaccines are more effective.

Ah thanks for clarification. So this is still the apartment owner house book. The owner is a bit snobbish ????
When your wife registers on that online site, she needs to upload a picture/scan of her ID card and another one of an "address document" for the property in question. Depending on your immigration office, they might accept the rental contract or a document from condo management with her name on it for the latter.
For example, a friend of mine in Bangkok used the latest monthly water bill from condo management, and that was accepted (no house book required).

The only way for Israel to get rid of their eternal PM "Bibi the Slaughterer" might be to have him finally tried by this international court for his crimes against humanity. Interesting development to say the least!

Legalize it and tax it. Do the same with prostitution and recreational drugs while you're at it.
You're welcome.

Didn't they say next month just yesterday? June isn't anywhere near next month, and come June they might just say October...

I'd say if you liked living in Thailand before, it's a good idea to come back. Personally, I wouldn't wait, nobody knows how long this pandemic will drag on.
I've staid in Thailand throughout Covid and I doubt it would have been a more pleasant time anywhere else - probably a lot less so in most places!
The entry process seems to be pretty streamlined now, and if you plan to stay long-term, the one-off expense and time spent in quarantine doesn't really matter much either.

As things are progressing with immigration, at an increasing number of immigration offices using an agent seems to become the only way to keep one's sanity intact. That's probably what they wanted foreigners to do all along.

A little off-topic, but when Bitkub/coins.th deposit the funds, does that show up as a FCT (Foreign Currency Transfer)?
No, their transfers are domestic and instant. They don't show up as international.

Do you think even one of the people that got taken by this even bothered to try such a basic attempt at due diligence?
I think it's fair to say that people who fall for such a 3.5% per month scheme aren't familiar with the concept of due diligence. In fact it is such an outrageous offer that you don't even need to do due diligence and can dismiss it outright, halfway through through the pitch.
Still it's an interesting hypothetical question. I don't think a customer service rep at their call center would flag this. They would probably just assume it has been a misunderstanding. If the same rep has to deal with several similar calls within a short period of time, on the other hand, then who knows!

At my condo, only delivery guys and visitors (those who bother to register with security for a visitor pass anyway) are temperature checked, not residents.
I think that's how it should be. When I return to my condo, I've usually had my temperature taken a good 3-4 times within the last few hours anyway (malls, 7/11s, supermarkets, BTS stations, what not). If I want to check my temperature at home, on the other hand, I have my own thermometer.

For President Trump to be "locked up," he would have to be convicted of a crime and then sentenced. There is nothing to indicate those two things will happen.
We'll see in due time.

Definitely a winning idea, it would make a real nice and interesting museum for Thais and foreign visitors alike.

If he wants to make money from tourist visas, maybe he should start issuing them again in the first place.
As Thailand does.
-
Why use a mafia law when domestic terrorism is a much better fit?
Anyway, if Trump goes down as Don Donald or as the Traitor President ultimately doesn't matter to me, as long as he gets locked up for his crimes.

Why Skytrain fare hike may end up wrecking Bangkok’s mass-transit success story
in Bangkok News
Posted
What "mass transit success story" are they even talking about? They haven't even been able to implement an integrated ticketing system yet. It's pretty much a complete mess, and always has been. The BTS is either overcrowded or they make you wait an insane amount of time between trains or both. MRT the same. Buses tend to fall apart in the middle of the road.
