  1. The upgrade to Category 1 is what matters here. Category 1: • Indicates that the country’s aviation authority meets ICAO standards for safety oversight. • Airlines from Category 1 countries can initiate new service to the U.S. and maintain existing operations without additional restrictions. • A Category 1 rating demonstrates that the aviation authority effectively regulates safety, including air traffic control, pilot certification, aircraft maintenance, and operational procedures.
  2. I avoid Windows, but you might consider this: • Open Settings (Win + I). • Go to Time & Language > Language & Region. • Under Preferred Languages, click the language you’re using (e.g., English) and select Options. • Scroll down to Keyboards, click Add a keyboard, and choose the Japanese IME or another relevant layout. • Test switching between layouts using the language bar in the taskbar or by pressing Alt + Shift or Win + Space.
  3. iPhone 5? Are they sure he hasn't been dead for 10 years?
  4. He's just repeating what Putin and Musk told him to say.
  5. He made a binding offer that was accepted. Then he decided it wasn't a good deal and tried to back out of it. Twitter sued Musk to enforce the agreement. That's what happened. As of October 2024, Fidelity Investments estimated that X is valued at approximately $9.4 billion, reflecting a 79% decrease from Elon Musk’s $44 billion acquisition price in October 2022.
  6. Musk tried to back out of the deal. Twitter forced him to go through with it.
  7. I've had 12 total covid vaccinations. Had my bloodwork done last week: 1. Lipid Panel: • Total Cholesterol: 118 mg/dL • Triglycerides: 58 mg/dL • HDL (HDLC4): 47 mg/dL • LDL (LDL Calc): 59 mg/dL • VLDL-C: 12 mg/dL 2. Glucose and Enzymes: • Fasting Glucose: 80 mg/dL • Lipase: 25 U/L 3. HbA1c: 4.3% 6. Apolipoproteins: • Apo A1: 134.0 mg/dL • Apo B: 55.0 mg/dL I'm healthier than I've been in many years. I also take rosuvastatin, which I'm guessing you're against.
  8. Why not order directly from Apple? Free shipping and free no-questions-asked returns.
  9. My guess is that boarding passes will still be issued. you just won't need them for routine purposes.
  10. Republican Strategists: "We need Pennsylvania. The Latino vote can get us there. There are 450,000 Puerto Ricans living there. I need ideas. Anybody?" "We could say we love Latinos." "Pass. Too obvious, too general. What else?" "We could propose a plan to rebuild Puerto Rican infrastructure" "Yeah right. Seriously, I need good ideas. Think outside the box." "We could have some guy on stage calling Puerto Rico a floating pile of garbage" "Excellent! Now you're talking! Let's go with that!"
  11. Only 4 weeks seems optimistic.
  12. Only two weeks left for that. And then two weeks + 1 day for the threads about Trump complaining the election was rigged.
  13. Eventually all the aging anti-woke people will be dead and then what's derisively called "wokeism" will be just normal human behavior. It's happened throughout history. Opinions that were once considered "radical and extreme" are normal now.
  14. As of iPadOS 18, the following iPad models are supported: 1. iPad: 7th generation and later (2019+) 2. iPad mini: 5th generation and later (2019+) 3. iPad Air: 3rd generation and later (2019+) 4. iPad Pro: 1st generation 11-inch and later (2018+), 3rd generation 12.9-inch and later (2018+) For what you're doing, though, I wouldn't worry about the latest OS. It'll work fine for many years after dropping off this list. They're remarkably durable. Apple will also sometimes release security patches for older OSes.
  15. In iOS and iPadOS the left-pointing chevron is the standard icon for navigating back to the previous screen. You'll see it a lot.
  16. Obviously not, or that would be the average, wouldn't it.
  17. Does that seem unreasonable? The tourists who I know spend 3 to 4 times that amount.
  18. Yes, it is possible to view the feed from IMOU outdoor security cameras on a Mac. While IMOU does not have a dedicated Mac application, there are several options available: 1. IMOU Cloud via Web Browser: You can access the camera feed using a web browser by logging into the IMOU Cloud service. Go to the IMOU Life website and log in with your account credentials. From there, you can view live feeds and manage your cameras. 2. Third-Party Software (ONVIF-Compatible): IMOU cameras are typically ONVIF-compliant, which means they work with third-party video surveillance software, such as: • VLC Media Player: You can stream the camera feed using the RTSP stream protocol if you know the camera’s IP address and stream URL. • SecuritySpy: A dedicated Mac software for IP cameras that supports IMOU cameras and provides various features such as motion detection and recording. • Blue Iris: This software can also work with IMOU cameras on Mac if set up using a virtual machine or via a network setup. 3. Mobile Apps via Emulator: If you prefer to use the IMOU Life mobile app (available for iOS/Android), you can run it on your Mac using an Android emulator like Bluestacks or NoxPlayer. This allows you to install the mobile app and manage your cameras as you would on a phone.
  19. "The average weight of U.S. women under 30 years old varies based on age groups and height. According to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), conducted by the CDC, the average weight for women in this demographic is as follows: • Women aged 20-29: The average weight is approximately 167.6 pounds (76 kg). This figure can vary due to factors such as height, ethnicity, lifestyle, and regional differences. Keep in mind that the average weight has generally been increasing over the past few decades due to lifestyle and dietary changes."
  20. Does 4K include the clinic fine?
  21. Afterward Trump was heard to mutter "What a beautiful road! I've never been there before"
  22. The first generation statins, such as lovastatin, came from red yeast rice. Fourth generation statins, such as rosuvastatin, are much better. High LDL has a large genetic component. Some people will never have high amounts of LDL no matter what, and some people will have high LDL even with proper diet and rigorous exercise. For them, statins or other meds are life-changers. There is no one-size-fits-all answer like those found in online forums. A cardiologist will work to find a proper solution for their individual patients. If you're in the US, find one who's board-certified. If your LDL is high the first step is to get it under control, often through medication, and then focus on diet and exercise. Also, the known best diet for long-term cardiovascular health is now well established. Thousands of papers have been published in the last 10 years. Eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, legumes, fish and seafood. Limit saturated fats. If you regularly eat those, you can also enjoy (in moderation) whatever else you like to eat. Ignore the gym-bros who promote things like the carnivore diet.
  23. Of premium phones, Apple's worldwide marketshare is 62%. Second is Samsung, with 22%. https://www.huaweicentral.com/huawei-ranks-third-while-apple-tops-in-q2-2024-global-premium-phone-market/
  24. Prescription medication for these things has been throughly tested and is relatively inexpensive. Production is tightly regulated and the dosage of the active ingredient carefully controlled. None of these things are true for supplements. The corporate side of Big Pharma is evil to be sure, but these drugs work. Diet and exercise is great, and of course a good idea in general, but when that's not enough the medication is the answer.
  25. iPhones are difficult to service. If something goes wrong Apple will deal with it. If you go to a third party and something goes wrong you might be stuck with it. Batteries are not outrageously priced. Considering the risk I personally would only let Apple do it.
