  1. It just so happened that the best years of my life started after 45. I didn't expect it. Life is a crapshoot, not crap.
  2. At least he actually did it instead of just saying so, unlike the lying orange man.
  3. How do you feel about pronouns?
  4. Looking forward to when they seize Trump Tower. You know, the one that on 9/11, just hours after the collapse of the World Trade Center, Trump was bragging that it was now the tallest building in the financial district.
  5. I hope Biden decides to not run, but I think Trump loses no matter what. Without compulsory voting, some voters need a good reason to go to the polls. Voting against Trump is compelling.
  6. Biden's best chance to win reelection is if crooked Donny runs against him.
  7. I think that's a great idea. If money's not so important, volunteer work can be very rewarding and would definitely reset your pleasure principle.
  8. That's it. That's the only ordinary downside (other than peeing a lot) to drinking lots of water (up to a point of course). Side effects might include leg cramps, light-headedness, stuff like that. Makro sells boxes of sachets of electrolyte powder. One of those a day would counter the loss.
  9. If there were such a drug it would be widely known and widely prescribed.
  10. I would have thought that, but then the OP said a cost of a trillion dollars, which I suppose is about what ten million would cost. ????????‍♂️
  11. I'm all in favor of universal healthcare, but I'm not so sure about your figures there. You're saying 10,000,000 of them have crashed? Only a few thousand have been built. It's been in service 18 years or so. That's 1,500 crashes per day, or 1 every minute, 24 hours a day, for 18 years. Maybe you accidentally googled Thai motocy crashes?
  12. I what you wrote in your original post is not 100% correct you might be wise to delete or at least edit it.
  13. When I bought from Apple in the US, using their free monthly payment system, they charged the full amount of sales tax up front, and the receipt shows it. If they do the same for VAT in Thailand then the monthly payments won't enter into it. My receipt from June, including the (outrageous) sales tax:
  14. "Using apps" has nothing to do with it. The charge is fraudulent and is merely labelled as "Google TikTok".
  15. Shouldn't the pardon also require a photo of him pointing at something?
  16. The detail is in the filing. Several thick binders of detail in which he systematically overstated the value of assets when seeking loans (fraud) and systematically understating their value when filing taxes (also fraud). These are not opinion. These are signed and sworn documents by Trump & his henchmen. So many that the filing is asking for summary judgement on the facts.
  17. Where are you coming from? It's likely that there are better options elsewhere. For example, I had two dental implants and a bridge done in Costa Rica. First rate work and less than in Thailand.
  18. If he eventually reached a plea deal I hope they get a photo of him pointing at something.
  19. Yes. It doesn't have to be well planned or well executed to qualify.
  20. Exactly. The only thing we learned from that is what weight and height he isn't.
  21. #1 Rule of Aseannow: No announcement is so good that an ex-pat can't find something to complain about.
  22. I think we've hijacked this thread long enough.
  23. Is that a known technique? The problem is not that the artery is simply flattened and needs to be reshaped, as if it were a rigid tube. As we age our arteries for various reasons develop a build-up of plaque that restricts the blood flow. The greater the restriction, the greater the chance of a cardiovascular "event". The stent compresses the plaque, reducing the restriction.
  24. Yes, I was immediately able to do more exercise. When the stent was going in I tried very hard to feel the rush of blood though the re-opened highway, but I could not. ???? I do an annual stress test, which has not revealed any further issues. If it does, then the dye test would follow. Here's my before and after:
  25. No doubt. But fwiw my US cardiologist agreed with the diagnosis, and there's no money in it for him. He's a great guy. Best doctor I've ever had. He's willing to talk about any health thing I want. He was a GP before specializing in cardiology. And when an older patient is paying by medicare, which typically pays less than 100%, he just waives the balance.
