3K for five days? Or 600 baht per day. Even hard to find a dump for that price pre-covid.

you know there are really reasonable rooms you can stay 1st and 5th day for 450-500 baht, right? if you dont know use your friend, google or just take a walk around instead of walking at sukhumvit soi nana.

but like i said i didnt know about the PCR prices so now that makes sense.

I downloaded SSO Connect app, and entered my SSO number and password that was registered on their website: https://www.sso.go.th/wpr/main/login

Shows menu where I can see all payments going back decades. Doesn't show the QR code like yours, though, in any of the menus. That's on iOS. Just total paid in, along with last month payment, and icons for various health services, as well as payment details page and one where you can make payment. The settings page is all inactive. Overall, a very poorly written app. Explains 2 star rating in AppStore.

for the app i think i didnt entered my password. just asking for the SSO number and your phone number then it directly gives that QR

I am not a big fan of this nexus between government-hotel-and-hospital. But if you choose to come to Thailand, instead of going to another place it is what you pay and not a crazy price. The question is why do you want to come to Thailand? Are you looking for your thai brides in Thailand? If not, you can go to any other places that do not have the nexus.

im living and working in thailand for 17 yrs dude. take it easy. just wanted to know why so expensive. didnt know PCR is that expensive. feeling better now?

check out your preferred T&G hotel website to pay online.

can also check out aq.in.th website for list of approved T&G hotels.

for example, i'm considering aster hotel pattaya (walking distance to my condo) B7700 for day 1 & 5.

why so expensive for only 2 days?! is it like actually you are paying for full 5 days or 2 days?

if for 2 days 7700 is crazy. Actually its crazy too for 5 days.

are there any hotels cheaper? something around 3K ?

Also what if i bring my own ATK with me? can i use it or i must theirs?

cant i arrange a hotel like 2 or 3K and tell them this is only for 2 days thing?

please dont tell me hotels are just abusing this because you have no other option?

  5. balcony is open area, he can smoke there. Sorry, there is nothing you can do about it. I know its so annoying, but its also his right to do.

My next door (house) really liked to smoke right in front of my home because he cannot smoke in his home, and he drops his cigar left again right in front of my home. I put a no smoking area sign in front of my garage door. And put all his cigar left overs into his garage. He got the message, didnt talk with me for 3-4 days, we are ok now and drinking again together.

about BBQ, actually he can do that too. Some condos dont allow and its in the contract. If not there is nothing can stop you or him to do BBQ.

@problemfarang I haven't heard of anyone using their social fund cards to apply for a ThaiPass. If you do this perhaps you could start a separate topic to keep others in the same situation up to date.

I don't wish this upon you at all, but I am wondering what happens to someone with this card who tests positive on day 1 or day 5. I really hope nobody has to find out.

sure, i will post a new topic when i start things.

yes, if you have social insurance from where you are working in thailand, immigration and embassy accept. no need extra 50K usd insurance

    thnx

You don't need a physical card (which are no longer routinely issued) to apply for Thailand Pass.

Go to: https://ssoconnect.mywallet.co/ and enter your SS number and mobile phone number.

If you don't already have a wallet app on your phone then just follow the instructions on the above site to install.

    You should then see a screen like this;

Take a screenshot of that and upload that as your proof of insurance for Thailand Pass. I know it works because I have done it and there were no issues.

    great, thanks a lot

Laos is still closed to individual visitors, so depending on when you want or need to apply for a visa, a better nearby option to check out might be Phnom Penh.

They have published such lists as well, that you can find here: https://phnompenh.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/additional-documents-required-for-citizens-from-certain-countries

    great, thanks

i will not insist because im not fully sure but i think laos is opened. Not sure can go but i think farangs can come from laos. Checked their website and it seems can come to thailand but not sure if we can go there yet or how

But it seems you are very right. it seems Phnom Penh is the best option. Because its sure they accept farangs at the moment. Need to find out how to go and what need to go there. I need to do it in coming 2-3 moths because i will have holiday for 2 months so great time to do. Also it looks like we can go to cambodia via land border and their website says all we need is to show them 3 dose of vaccines, thats all... arrival visa on land border also can.

If my country is not in that 22 country list, do you think i can get the non-b in 2 days like old time savanakhet visa?

From the embassy in Kuala Lumpur website. Note there is a lot more than 20 countries on the list.

do you think you can find the same list from Laos thai embassy? i checked but couldnt find it

You will need to apply for a plastic social fund card at your local social fund office. This is to ensure your social fund payments are up to date.

They are valid for 2 years from date of issue. They cost 10 baht and take 1-2 months processing time. They are posted to your employer.

    great info, thank you

and.. what documents do i need to apply? I already have it but not plastic only paper one. And i have my social security no too.

  11. Hi,

i read somewhere (cannot find now where) that if you are out of thailand (for visit home country or else) and coming back to thailand, if you have a work permit and non-b visa and if you have social security number (thai government insurance -that white small paper-) provided from your work you DONT need to make any covid insurance when entering to thailand. is it true?

Also i couldnt find anything about non-b and work permit holders or maybe i missed it in this forum. Can someone provide what we need to enter thailand if we have non-b and work permit.

Im planning to visit my country for 2 weeks in April or May. And i dont want any surprises when coming back.

  12. To be honest if you are married OR retired, you can use any good agency no problem. If non of them, many agencies will not or cannot help you because actually there is nothing they can do.

When you use an agency, most of them will try to do things as legal as they can do. For example if you are married they will ask all documents, photos, etc. which you need to give to immigration anyway. The only thing here is the money which they can provide but you cannot. Thats all about the agencies. For example they cannot help if you are overstay 2-3 years. Which creates a question like then why i use agency.. So you can say agencies can only help you about the money (400K or 800K) thats all. So again if you are not married or retired, im not sure if you can find an agency which can help you. Maybe they will suggest you some ED visas but again thats something you can o without their help.

    thats been said.

I will try to explain you something about agencies. yes, they can solve he problem and again if you are married or retired. But the thing is... you will be never free again.. Always have to do your visa with them. whatever they say you need to do.. im using an agency and im really happy, shes doing everything no headache and i suggested her to many people in this form, some used her and they are so happy. BUT i always feel not ok about this. because at the end of the day its not legal and there is a chance you will end up in a situation you really not want. When everything back normal the first thing im going to do is leave the country and get a new non-b and come back. Trust me soon or later you will feel the pain and weight on your shoulders if you use agency. At first it seems great. i know...

I have a friend used agency to extend his non-o thai wife. they divorced and he is still on non-o extension.. he is having this stress moments every night thinking what if his ex-wife gets angry and tell things to the immigration?! because wife started to complain about the house they bought and she gave to him when divorcing but now started to ask to pay the full bank loan and of course he hasnt got that money... i know you are not kind of in this situation but the thing is.. YOU MAY soon or later.. who knows. but i gave you this example just to show my point about agencies. its like when you are in, you cannot out that easy...

dont get me wrong im not blaming any agencies. all im trying to say is its not the best way and you will face it soon or later.

my suggestion is dont use agency if you can. find a job.. im sure you can do teaching..

    good luck

I should be pretty much fluent after 11 months of classes. Could you explain what non-teaching jobs I could do once I am fluent in Thai? In case it matters, my bachelor's is in Management.

About this you can apply international companies such as companies in sri racha, chonburi area. Have many transportation and trading companies there. But the thing is they already habe someone in that position from the company from their country. So its not easy for you just walk in and give your cv and wait for a chance...

Or you can apply for thai international company but its also not that easy. You csn find a company doing business with usa or other. And try your luck.

Tbh your chances are really not good to find a job in thailand. Many companies alreqdy have their men from their HQ already.

You can also try a position as HR. I know 1 2 company their hr are farangs because they are oroginally chinese companies.

  14. If i know correct a thai company only can hire a foreigner IF he has something special like thai cannot or not at best level. Which means like hiring a foreigner to teach english.

Your best shot would be a manager position if he has a hotel or likewise. For car wash obviously no need a farang to hire. Security, guard.. no way as you probably know it already even before creating this post.

Also your friend must holding a document from the government or labor office giving him a permission to hire a foreigner. This is not easy to obtain for a thai company if its not working international or a language school...

If your friend is reqlly close to you tell him to show you as a partner. That will work for sure. I know someone did that.

Again another thing is even your friend has the dpcument saying he can hire farangs, and hires you... you need to prove that your elite in this field so he needs you. For example if he hires you as a cook labor office will ask you to prove it, if your degree is engineering.. they will reject your work permit. You must be holding a related degree. I think you get the point what im trying to say.

So actually you have 2 options:

Tech or find a company you can hire you in your skill or training or degree.

Thank you. May I know if I am in Thailand with my non-o marriage visa and find a job in Thailand. Can I apply work permit and all the document finished in Thailand? Or Do I need to come back to my country/ Thai embassy in my country to finish the document?

If you have non-o you can find a job, can get a work permit and you can extend your visa one of the method, thai wife or work.

No need to leave the country all can be done in thailand

when I download the app, it’s in Thai/ English, and asks for an ID
