  1. Unique method of serving, some/many customers might enjoy it.
  2. So are you assuming that all BOLT drivers are dishonest?
  3. "...The investigative police have since been involved, attempting to trace the car registration number, phone number, and the driver's name without success...." BOLT is a well organized international operation giving quite good and very popular service. Used it many times, also son and several times used their services to take mid teens kids to school an return from school. Never once and problem whatever. I rather doubt BOLT would: - Not know the drivers name and details. - Be uncooperative with the police.
  4. "...should enjoy his fleet of luxury vehicles (a pink Bentley among others) on his tiny plot of land in Thonburi..." The tiny plot of land includes 2 full size football (soccer) pitches.
  5. OK, he popped up, now let's not see him or his violent sons for another 10 years.
  6. So to ensure clarity, he's not a seriously ill person and he's getting VIP hospital care in a royal room in the police hospital penthouse.
  7. Strange rules. Australian OAP and DVA recipients can have a direct transfer to any Thai bank, and both agencies encourage the recipient to use a joint savings account so that if there's sickness etc., the family can still access some funds. Mine has an ATM card, and the account is embedded into my internet banking so electronic transfers are easy for both domestic and international funds transfers. And I can access the funds using an app on my smartphone.
  8. And a nicely ribboned chicken or birds nest soup basket, carried by 2 pretties or 2 handsome boys..
  9. They will reconcile in any instant when there's cash available. But neither of them have much serious / sincere / honest value to add.
  10. You mentioned receiving the Oz gov't. pension. I assume you mean the Oz Old Age Pension (OAP), which by Oz legislation is exempt from Aust. personal taxation. As is the Oz DVA Service Pension and/or the Oz Permanent Disability Compensation Allowance, previously called the DVA Disability Pension, all exempt from Oz personal taxation. Receiving any of these payments probably means any other income is quite small (but I quickly add, that's not my business to assume). My Guess (just my guess, nothing more) is that Thailand will not 'classify' any of the above payments as taxable in Thailand regardless of 183 days residency etc. And in any case the total amounts would probably mean that person is under the lower income threshhold.
  11. " For those non-Yanks screaming about no more free ride from somebody's taxes? Welcome aboard." ?
  12. "Australia being a little brother to US, ...." Not sure many ozzies would acept that comment. Australians have a very different mindset / different attitudes / to Americans and thank goodness for that.
  13. Up to you. Keep in mind that 99% of PR holders don't see a problem, just normal not difficult processing.
  14. I recall several incidents at the final check before boarding at Suv. airport, one local budget carrier. Foreigners asked why many people were not being checked (passport photo and name compared to name on boarding pass). Response was 'they are Thai people so no need to check'. On one occasion one foreigner insisted that answer was not acceptable and insisted on a supervisor from the airline come to the gate. Foreigner said to supvr., 'is it not possible that the Thai person not being checked is a con-man, a thief escaping to another country, a terrorist etc?' Supervisor inisted 'not possible' and called the police.
  15. Only your word for your statement. Bottom line, not my direct concern, end of discussion.
  16. Perhaps better to invest the time and money is preventing the conditions which cause these incidents rather than a 'force' to sit and codjitate until something happens. I'd also worry about the quality / effectiveness of any training they might receive, and worry about the preparedness of any equpment they might have. Prevention please.
  17. Very probably happening a thousand times every day in every country.
  18. Criticism of how the LOS handles this is due. However there's many other countries e.g. the USA which has a far worse record of gun deaths, including large numbers of children but basically no action taken.
  19. QUOTE: "While you correct yourself later in your post, let's make it clear that the...." I don't but that argument, you're just seaching for anything you can to twist ...
  20. Quote: "...you wouldn't have to apply for a visa and endorsement every time (or once a year) you leave the country. ..." It's been said before by snr. Immigration officials that this shouldn't be labellled as a Visa, it should be labelled as something like a processing number. Endorsement is nothing more than repeating the stamp and exact same details entered in the PR book into the holders passport. What I find annoying about this point is the cost 1,900Baht for less than 1 minute work to copy a few numbers from the PR book to the passport. What a rip off.
