A deputy, an insider or Trump? The race for US House Speaker
scorecard replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Meanwhile good governance for the good people of the US is not getting the attention it should be! -
QUOTE: "Lastly, I am about to get my PR renewed for the first time - does anyone know what documents I have to produce for this?" I suspect you're a little confused. PR is for your lifetime until you die (as per the title 'Permanent Residence'). It NEVER needs renewal and you don't have to have it re-endorsed, re-checked or anything similar for your whole lifetime. I'm wondering if you mean your 'Exit and re-entry stamp.?' That's a different matter. By the specific regulations which most PR holders follow you only need an Exit and re-entry stamp when you are about to depart / return to Thailand. In other words you must get a new Exit and re-entry stamp when you need it. You are not required to get a new Exit and Re-entry stamp every 12 months. it's not an automatic and not a compulsory annual renewal. You get an Exit and Re-entry stamp when you need it. PR holders who haven't been out of Thailand for many years haven't had a current Exit and Re-entry stamp in their PR book and their passport for years because for years they haven't had any plan to depart and return to Thailand. What documents: Changes a bit according to what Immigration office you go to. Basic documents will be: - PR book - Passport - Some Imm. offices might ask to see your Red Police Registration book. - Some Imm. offices might ask to see your Tabien Baan book. - Some might ask to see your flight tickets. - You will need at least 2 small photographs. - Completed Exit-Re-entry application form. - There's 2 charges involved: For the multiple entry stamp (can be used for 12 months any number of journeys out and in from date of getting the exit and Re-entry stamp): Put the Exit and Re-entry stamp in your PR book 3,800Baht Copy the same stamp into your passport 1,900Baht. (This is called endorsement.) Total 5,700Baht There also a single entry (single journey / trip) stamp available, sorry I don't know the charges for this. I've had PR for 27 years, I get the multiple entry Exit and Re-entry stamp at Chang Wattana Immigration office or Chiang Mai Immigration office. Most times it's all done within 30 minutes, depends if there's other PR holders there getting an Exit - Re-entry stamp at the same time. Never ever been asked for 'tea money'. You will see mention of getting an Exit - Re-entry stamp at the airport when you are about to fly. That's available to various long-term Visa holders (Visas which have an expiry date which usually need re-application / re-issue every 12 months), it's NOT available at the airport for PR holders. Good luck.

Chalerm Dares Thaksin To Oust Him From Pheu Thai
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"Without elaborating, the maverick lawmaker said the de facto Pheu Thai boss had not given him a cabinet seat only because he viewed him and his son as being “utterly irritating.” Sounds like a good reason to me, plus a few more adjectives: dangerous, immoral, unethical, highly corrupt, violent, at least...- 29 replies

Well let's see. Son and his wife happy with hospital where baby was born. Since discovered that costs of kids innoculations have skyrocketed. Consiering what other options are available. Several friends say they are very happy with the baby hospital on Chang Klan rd. Son called and was quite happy with the dicussions / services offered etc. Son and wife asked other friends, many good comments re the baby hospital. They will go there tomorrow to see for themselves the quality / professionalism of the baby hospital then decide for the future. Sounds OK / logical to me.

One experience I had, went to a nice resturant non airconditioned, clean, polite service. 3 Thai friends and myself. We all ordered gwiteoo dishes, nothing exotic, with chicken or pork, all ordered a small bottle of water. Nothing more. Thai colleague asked for the bill, cam separated into 2 parts: - Food and water for Thais. - Foodand water for farang. My bill water 180Baht moe than the avereaged price for the Thai customers. My Thai colleague asked why? Owner cam and said in Thai and in English "But foreigners have to pay more." Colleague asked "But WHY do they have to pay more, the food and drink is the same, cooking is the same, service is the same?" Response "If you don't pay we call the police. We walked out, for the next 3 days we ordered room service food (3 star hotel where we were staying) enough for 4 people all delivered to one room occupied by a Thai person. On second day and for rest of our stay one free Thai desert for all came with every order. Food was quite good overall about 30% cheaper than the initial price (for Thai customers) we encountered on day one.

Further, son and his wife already have 3 kids, 17, 11, 7, they're serious about all their kids getting a good vaccination spread. In the past vaccination costs at McC were not too bad but now very expensive and they have dropped their earlier system of combining 2 or 3 non-reacting serums into one injection at a quite reasonable cost. Hence looking for alternatives.

It was McCormick private hospital. However son and his wife tell me the costs of everything at that hospital are rising by the day. E.g. seems now to be automatic before much discussion '2 night', 3 nights' etc. (Had this several times for 7 year old daughter who regularly gets runny nose and non serious cough, Automatic 2 / 3 night stay and same medicine every time, same medicine you can buy, very cheaply, at every pharmacy. Room rate plus food, nursing, dr. visit etc., ends up being a big bill. New baby just coming up to 1 month and too young to start private Health Insurance. Son and his wife heard very good reports re the special Baby Hospital on Chang Klan Road and decided to give the hospital a try. Hence the questions about 30Baht health registration / card etc.

Thanks. The parents (my Thai son and his Thai wife) are the parents. They have asked Thai friends (also parents), nobody seems to know. Son called the well known CM hosptal where the baby was born, they claim they don't know. At this point all a bit of a mystery. Later today I will call the helth ministry hotline*, hopefully they can advise (*I've called the hoteline before (during the Covid- 19 era), plenty of English, and always got clear focused answers.)

And let's be honest, the vast majority of those sucked in are naive and poor and the immoral unethical clown still openly asks them for more. -

Read more, it wasn't the judges decision or suggestion to have a non-jury trial, it was trumps decision. All well documented on many respected news sites. -
Gunshot-Like Sounds Reported at Bangkok’s Shopping Mall

Why do you instantly introduce a divisive comment? -
I apoogize if I upset you, that wasn't the intent of my post, not at all. I agree 100% it's not your duty/resonsibility to have answers to every question/scenario. i agree, my guess is that foreigners receiving state pensions into Thailand will vey likley not be touched and in any case most (perhaps 99%) will be under the Thai personal tax threshhold. A buddy just mentioned that Thai citizens and foreigners over 70 years are in any event exempt from Thai personal taxation. He's trying to find this in writing. I'll share a link If i get one. Again, my apologies.

Looking for ChromeCast or similar device in Chiang Mai….
scorecard replied to SamSanuk's topic in Chiang Mai
Would you please share approx. prices, and I assume there's no monthly or other ongoing charges. Is that correct. Also I saw one chromecast ad stating that their 'item' came with details of an app to download to smartphone which then becomes a remote control. IS that typical. Once installed can you access, free, programs from all counties, and typically programs which generally incur monthly charges. Thanks. -
Same in Thailand, the Bolt screen shows the fares for 2 or 3 types of vehicles, customer selects one of the offered fares. I've used Bolt maybe 30 times in thailand, final price has always been he price I selected before the system confimed my booking and found / sent a car to pick me up. Agreed price remains on my screen until trip is fully completed. Never once has the driver asked for more.

Rand Paul: Withdraw Ukraine money if you want to avoid shutdown
scorecard replied to Social Media's topic in World News
You criticize others for being selective about support but you do the same. Your suggestion of NATO possibly starting WW3 is not valid at all.
