  1. Such wisdom.
  2. If they are so concerned why have they not taken serious decicive action, years ago, to stop this activity by imposing very high fines, jail sentences, confiscation of property suspected of being obtained by less than ethical means, etc Steep enough that it really frightens them off.
  3. Further: - Have all the TV aound the table been charged previously with theft or similar? - How many more exist and are regularly actively involved with theft, harrassment of folks on Beach Road (or any road), but didn't get an invite. Seems to me this 'event' lacks credibility for many reasons.
  4. Nowadays in many areas of business / manufacturing / marketing 30 seconds delay is unacceptable.
  5. How thick / thin would the gold plating be?
  6. "Something was very wrong with him as he couldn't speak English." A very strange perhaps very arrogant comment. Can you speak Thai?
  7. And those that do get sent to hospitals outside of the jail, how many are 'living' in rotal suites at the police or any other hospitals?
  8. That's your version, not necessariy everybody's version.
  9. Well I'm having difficulty to stop BING search fom popping up again. Several times i've gone through the steps to 'totally remove it' but it bounces back and I don't want it.
  10. But the reality is he doesn't deserve any support.
  11. Please share an update on your recovery. And hoping you'll be fully fit very soon.
  12. Many of the items you list / describe can be fund in many cultures. Many of the items you list / describe are true of a small % of the local population and could relate to either male or female Thai folks. And I have no hesitation to say I have many sincere and helpful Thai friends. I've been here 35+years, I've had 2 nasty experiences with foreigners stealing from me. Plus about 1 year back a drunk American hit a car driven by my Thai daughter-in-laws aunt. Severe damage to the car and the middle aged Thai lady spent 1.5 months in hospital with numerous injuries. The American tried to flee but was caught quickly by locals who tied him to a post until the police arrived. There's an ongoing battle to get him to pay for the repairs to the Thai lady's car. The American has insurance but refuses to lodge a report with the insurance company. But does that mean all Americans have the same attitudes, of course not.
  13. But it's obvious from the events since his aircraft touched down that his 'surrender to authorities' was/is not 'standard'.
  14. Repeat, please get well soon. As mentioned, sounds like your lucky not more injuries.
  15. He's still a rat and I rather doubr other inmates are given such 'entitlement's'.
  16. Perhaps convicted criminal would be more acceptable to you.
  17. You seem to be very protective of the rat.
  18. "... when there is a brush with another arm of government ..." e.g. car / motorcycle accident, police are called by someone (maybe not you) police investigation uncovers overstay. The person involved might be the safest driver in the world but there's a large % of drivers on the roads everywhere who cause accidents, you can't control them.
  19. And a good drop. Times change with beer, I was recently given a full big box of San Miguel light cans and I quite like it. Since bought a big box of cans.
  20. I was working on a project in Singapore (from Oz) in 1981 when the company suffered a major serious break down in it's manufacturing equipment. Estimated to take 1 week to get the replacements parts from Europe to S'pore. My manager in S'pore suggesed I take a holiday for 1 week and he offered a sponsored return airfare to any nearby country. He asked "Have you ever been to Thailand?" I said "NO" and a few hours later I landed in Bkk with a 4 star hotel booking on Silom, first 2 nights already paid. Taxi driver played games with 'never heard of the hotel, never mind i take you to better hotel'. I got out on the forecourt of the 'better hotel' and asked the bell boy where my booked hotel was located. The boy laughed and pointed to the next building. He carried my suitcase next door, both hotels same owner. Next morning I hailed a taxi, driver agreed to take me to a spices and herbs shop (I had the name and address). Taxi driver took me to a jewelery shop inside a compound with high walls and big gates. Two hours later I stood at the big closed gates and eventually the shop owner unlocked the gates. I bought nothing. And more for 7 days. Quite an experience for a very young naive Ozzie boy. At the end of the project i went back to OZ but got quickly transferred to Singapore office and then to Thailand. Many years later I applied for Thailand Permanent Residency and got it, that's 27+ years back. Been here ever since.
