Move Forward and the double-edged sword of ‘orange fandom’
scorecard replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I take your points, what upsets me is the comments from the GOP trying to demand a stop to all welfare, a stop to education and health care support. Talk to some folks from the scandinavian countries who pay big taxes and many items are taken care of in regard to good quality of life, a civil society. I can assure you most will quickly confirm they have no objection. What of course needs to be in the picture is that the funds involved are spent very wisely and decisions where/how to spend are taken with good valid processes. I come from a limited socialist country, what I also love is that we take care of and suport the underprivileged who struggle to make good incomes and struggle to ensure their kids eat, and struggle to make good choices. We share resources with them and happy to do so. My own vieww is that ultimately most of the world will adopt some level of socialism, partly because the world cannot continue to accept the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer (plenty of valid data to support this) and more disadvantaged. My belief is that this will eventually cause some collapse of rampant capitalism which doesn't really give equal opportunity and is way out of balance in regard to a civil society. -
Can anyone recommend an over the counter sleeping pill?

I've used very warm milk with 1 spoon of sugar or honey for years. Works well for me and no hangover whatever next morning. Well proven, milks naturally contain a substance called tryptofan which stops the baby calf from drinking too fast and choking - a natural sedative. Suggested years ago by my respected local doctor in the west. -

GOP attitude, welfare, suporting each other, limited attempts to share the wealth, ensure all citizens have good health care are a waste of money. Strange how countries / governments which have a limited socialist agenda are balanced, suppotive, and caring and are well supported by the populace. And the populace quite relaxed / not concerned that this is how a % of taxes are spent. -

Before you do that call the BBL call centre and ask their advice how to proceed, 1333 in Thailand or (66) 0 2645 5555 from abroad. All the officers speak advanced English, good listeners and well informed. Good luck, -

Correct name is Thailand Immigration Bureau and on the overall police org. chart shown as a 'departmentt' of the Royal Thai Police. -
Perhaps true. Replace Prem rather than just disappear and lose face. Thai thinking.

" half communist half fascist ideas......." Communist - NO. Part socialist - YES, and copying sucessful governments in many countries. -
"Greene flips on public release of Jan. 6 tapes, claims it could ‘put the security of the Capitol at risk" She claimed she and others had tapes which show no violence etc. Now nobody can find the tapes. She's told thousands of lies and caused many serious divisive and wants he law to be what would be nice for her. she needs long-term jail, 30 years at least as punishment and as an example to others. Also just as bad, not one person in the GOP has mad any attempt to put her back in the appropriate legal/ethical/cultural boundaries.

AISPlay is another option. Need to have AIS internet in the house/condo as the main internet facility. No additional monthly charges if you install AISPlay. AIS will come, bring a small box, install it (very simple, 1 minute) all free. Many channels free, can select others and pay a monthly fee. CNN I think is 199Baht a month, BBC the same. Dual language choice on many channels. We had a second AISPlay box installed in my bedroom Not free - once only 1,000Baht for the box, no other charges at all except any additional fee based channels selected. Young polite technician changed the default language to English.

Thaksin Insists On Returning Next Month Despite Family’s Warning

I take your points however what the military did is absolutely not the intent of the law. But yes they did it. A question - is it likely the military would tell the courts to specifically overturn thaksins convictions / sentencing to jail terms? Rightly or wrongly I very much doubt the military would do that. If they did do that then surely the military could play GOD on any sentence given by a court on any Thai citizen. In other words total chaos, total destruction of the rule of law. -
Is there some confusion here? - To qualify for the OAP there is the 35 year rule, but that 'rule' doesn't impact portability. - For OZ citizens who have been outside of OZ for a long time, many can still 'pass' the 35 year rule. If the OAP is approved (must be in Oz to submit the OAP aplication forms) then that citizen must remain in Oz for a period of 2 years (but trips in and out of Oz are allowed and the overall establishment of the 2 year period is not interupted by the time out (building the 2 years continues on uninterupted). When the 2 years is established then that person has portability. Note: - The first day of the 2 year period is the day that person returns to OZ. - The first day of the 2 year period is NOT the day the OAP was approved.

What is a 'Wellness Clinic', how is it different from a basic check up with blood tests?
-
And some small local clinics have doctors who aren't qualified. Beware. Example: for years there was a tiny shopfront on Petchaburi Rd., in Bkk. opposite Pantip Plaza. MyAdmin. mngr took many Thai and farang employees there, some were sick, some needed medical certificates. (e.g. for Work Permits). The 'Dr' spoke good English, for work permit med certificates he always look quickly at the 'patient' and said 'two arms, two legs, one head you pass'. After many years his qualifications were challenged by someone and he was closed down by the police. It happens. Along that stretch of road there's also a couple of fake dental clinics. Maybe same in Essan locations?

For correct answers call the centrelink International office in Hobart, they have a dedictated free hotline from Thailand. Easy to find the free call number on the main Centrelink site. C'link officers always good listeners and clear answers. But note all calls to Centrelink and many gov't agencies (e.g. DVA and tax and M'care, and more) are recorded and saved. If needed C'link will review what you have said in the past. And C'link has a 24/7 link to Oz immigration records both in and out. "forced exile for 2 years..." It's not as bad as that, after your return to oz and show that you are re-establishing a home in Oz you can depart and re-enter Oz often, perhaps out of Oz for 3 weeks. And the building of the 2 years period isn't interupted. By the rules you are expected to inform C'link of any planned inter. travel but you don't have to tell them where you are going abroad.

Thaksin Insists On Returning Next Month Despite Family’s Warning

In the normal course of events / in the normal standard judicial processes he will be arressted when he sets foot on Thai soil and taken to jail. But right now he's making a lot of noise insisting he will come back. So what's happening? Does he have some personal way to be outside of the laws of Thailand? Lots of questions. -
Big response. Never heard of it.
