  1. also, thaksins claims of a definite return mid july might be stirring them up.
  2. In other words never post again.
  3. Would be interesting to know his / PTs / the reds real game plan on this. What are ther really trying to achieve? And what will it do to disrupt an ongoing MF led gov't?
  4. On the other hand does he really think he can walk into Thailand as a free man?
  5. Agreed. And 'selected on merit' should mean: 'selected because of well noticed, consistently noticed high performance giving high value and noticed to be making contributions which show high insight /new thinking well above the capabiliies of other staff'.
  6. "...The "intern" needs to break those barriers (the "glass ceilings") with unconventional populist addendum to move the nation out of those traps rather than adjusting to those traps. MFP seems very capable to do so". Well said, spot on.
  7. And seems to me would bring even bigger vote numbers to MFP. (But of course still might need coalition partners and senate votes.)
  8. I use BOLT often in CM, asked several times when QR code payment will be available. answer every time 'QR code is coming but not sure when'.
  9. Have several farang friends using Krung Thai banking app on their phones (Bkk, CM, Pitsanalook). Try a different branch. Once set up (super easy) if makes payments very quick and easy.
  10. Yes, ATM machines disappearing by the minute across Chiang Mai. Pantip plaza and nearby zero machines. Seven minute walk to nearest bank & ATM. Small shops in the malls in CM were cash only but within last 6 months 99% offer QR code payment, some now won't accept cash. Also disappearing from 7/11 stores. I use BOLT taxi, excellent service, cheaper than GRAB, but cash only so I have to check what cash I have every time I go a BIG C etc., mall to be ready to pay BOLT driver.
  11. Maybe a domino effect - going down one by one.
  12. '... re invent things'. They should make themselves more aware of competitive advantage.
  13. 1. There should be a level playing field. 2. For decades there hasn't been. We had laws on this but somehow the big players got past these laws and created mega companies which dominated the market and controlled prices / kept prices at high levels. At the same time this created profitable investments for SET players. But also lacking in ethics and what's morally good for society. 3. These mega companies should be broken up. It can be done. 4. The broken up versions might need to find ways to win customers. That's capitalism at work. 5. And perhaps they should make themselves more kniwledgable about competitive advantage. 6. If this reduces return on SET investment bad luck.
  14. I remember this was well reported in the newspapers of the time. (Way before internet news sites.)
  15. At least Chalerm seems to have retired, or died.
  16. Please keep in mind that many landlords (incl. me) have had many errant tenants, therefore they apply the get tough approach.
  17. ',,,barely readable English.' Folks are entitled to have an opinion and it should have some rational but their english abilty should NEVER be a factor in whether they post or don't post. Yes unfortunately some posts are probably trolls and some posts (possibly paid) are probably part of planned/structured activities to push people towards or away from a specific party/coalition/grouping. It's been said a million times: - The military should not be involved in any way but they are and we wait to see what they will do next. - The election clearly indicates a very large number of Thai folks want change and they have indicated clearly the direction they want the country to pursue. We wait and see. I have an opinion too - I'm hoping Khun Pita is the next PM and hoping that the coalition remains intact so that real meaningful change gets enacted.
  18. Would you like to try to command this 'gang of violent offenders' through proper/real military training and in the combat field.? I recall an incident where one such conscript who was uncontrollable (contrinuously refused to comply with basic orders), extremely violent to other recruits and even more violent to the training NCOs and had damaged property was discharged and quickly.
  19. Enough, enough, every point has been repeated 10 times already. Can someone please close this thread?
  20. A few hints from the abbot of his disciples/attendants would quickly prompt a number of large donations from worshippers eager to 'make merit'.
