  2. Lost me....
  3. I would never deliberately lonon to tik tok but It does seem to pop up quite often hidden in other 'sites'.
  4. Well yes, a melting pot. Pity nobody tole the white supremacists who seem to claim they are the AMERICANS.
  5. Whatever you want it to be, perhaps you could test it: -Go to OZ and lodge application for OAP -One week later fly out of OZ but return within 7 days (a 'short absence') -Wait for 2 weeks to see if there's any comment/action from C'Link. - Now fly out of OZ and return 10 days later (just to test re 'short absence') - Now fly out quickly after that and return 14 days later.. Keep this up until you get a reaction from C'link At the end of the 2 years fly out and never return to OZ - wait for a reaction from C'Link. Now you can be a good boy and share all of the above for all Aussies.
  6. Watched an incident in the bigger than massive arrivals/passport hall at Shanghai International airport some years back. Hundreds of arrivals joining the arrival lines every minute. Lines look long but 99% of arrivals through immigration within 5 to 10 minutes. I joined a line, instantly rudely/abruptly confronted by a loud American mid aged woman asking me and others "Where's the line for American citizens and are the passport officers for this line american Citizens?, And she continued loudly "I refuse to allow non-americans to touch my passport". Loud but ignored. (In fact there is no special line for American Citizens.) An old Chinese Immigration officer is walking along the line, speaks perfect english, asking to see passports and documents and explaining that he's checking people have the correct documents and fully completed etc., 10 seconds or less each passenger. He gets to the loud US woman and she yells at him "don't touch me, and I don't have to put up with this I'm an American citizen". Old Chinese officer just keeps moving, but American woman reached out and grabs his arm and twists him around and he almost falls over. Again she yells at the old officer. Officer says a few words into his microphone on his uniform and within a few seconds 2 young quite tall strong soldiers appear (no guns at all). They know the drill, they quickly stand either side of the woman and put their arms under the womns armpits, lift her up and feet dangling carry her to the end of the line and gently put her down and they disappear. Old officer has carried her cabin bag to her new spot on the line and he quickly goes back to where he was working and continues. Hundreds of arriving passengers now looking at the Aerican woman and clapping. She freezes for a few seconds then runs back to the room before the arrivals hall. By this stage hundreds of people are through passport stamping and collecting their luggage.
  7. Sure and I've tried to totally TURN OFF predictive text, but never succeeded. HELP...
  8. Thanks, I'm aware of the clown you've mentioned. What I suspect also 'fascinates' many across the world is the antics of trump. So many lies and untruths. And the ridiculous carry on of falling in love with/love letters to and from the Nth. Korean dictator. Plus 3 meetings with the same man and on all three occasions the Nth. korean ran rings around him. Plus so many investigations and evidence but the attorney general hasn't laid one charge. Plus so much negative press about the supreme court judges including one judge whose wife appears to have been quite active in the 'big lie' bs. Not a good look.
  9. I sometimes wonder if Americans have concerns re the ignorant dangerous types who now (at least in the public sphere) dominate American politics and all on view to the whole world?
  10. And the US newbie here on Thai Visa (Asian Now) many years back who posted he was shocked that the site hadn't automatically changed another persons post from kilometers to miles. Another member responded saying 'are you aware that Americans rank 4th or 5th place re total numbers of foreigners living in Thailand and most of the foreigners who make up 1st, 2nd, 3rd place are Europeans and Australians where all measurement, volumes, distances, money is in the metric system?' Newbie responded 'can't be true because everything at the airport is written in Thai and in English'.
  11. Like loudly asking 'where is the line for American citizens' at Hong Kong (and other) airports.
  12. Ohh at least, but you have to wait and see...
  13. Well I didn't know that, OMG.
  14. As already suggested write to or visit the Australian PM. Perhaps visit him with a gift of a case of wine.
  15. Perhaps you should contact the prime minister and complain.
  16. Me too, but I was a bit lucky, I have Thai PR (25 years), the Thai gov't issued an order that re-entry expiry dates that had expired were continued. I got back in on a waiver. All processed in a few minutes at the passport desk at swampy.
  17. DIY, be careful of: - Some aspects of Thai laws on this subject are not exactly the same as in many western countries. E.G. who can be executor? Is being a benficiary and the executor allowed? All laid out in the Thai Commercial code (available on line in English). - Don't include 'situations' which are acually illegal. - Ensure that what you say cannot be interpreted 2 or more different ways*. - Ensure that what you say in Section XX doesn't clash with what you say in another section of the will. *If this happens and the will has to be processed by the Thai courts to get court orders to take to banks, Land Titles office etc., etc. , there's a very good chance the judge will not process the will, and they don't listen to comments made by family/old friends etc.
  18. Why don't you call them and ask. But perhaps not a good idea, it seems you don't believe what they say. So perhaps better to fly to Hobart and visit their office with a videooperater to record your discussion.
  19. Sounds like you're well prepared. Good luck.
  20. As I believe I indicated the C'Link lady was making a bit of a joke rather than stating a specific policy. Also, as I stated the C'Link lady mentioned there is a policy on this subject but it's deliberately not fully revealed. She also mentioned that there can be several absences in a year for several weeks without causing any problems in establishing the 2 years. You're a pain in the ass.
  21. What else would you expect? C'Link is responsible to organize pay out of millions of OZ taxpayers dollars, they did what they're responsible for, nothing more / nothing less.
  22. Good points, let me cut and paste a comment I made a few minutes ago: "Let me also share that on the second local personal visit the lady shared that almost everything is now computerised (all in Canberra) and the various actions are computer generated. This comment followed her initial comment that processing of new applications is now much faster because it's all computerised (I got my first payment 2.5 weeks after submitting the application)."
  23. AGree, all as should be. C'link hasn't done anything wrong or naughty.
  24. That's not what I said and you know it. Again you're trying to find something to cause complications.
