I take care family. Are bargirls really good mothers?
scorecard replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Some uneducated, very naive parents are convinced by procurers that it's all OK, goof job as a waitress, clothes provided, good food, cash salary and more. Many of these parents have never been more than a few kilometers away from the village where they were born and have zero knowledge of the world. -

Here's an example; I conducted business lectures at a high profile uni in Bkk for several years. The faculty of sociology shared the same professors lounge / lunch room etc. We often sat with the sociology professors for lunch and at times they shared some comments about their latest research. Some of their comments were sad and disturbing. e.g. they spoke to children living upcountry with grandma and many time children said things like 'Yes I have a mother but I haven't seen her for a long time and I forget what she looks like'. -

But maybe that person has big money in bank account and only keeps cash small change in their wallets, and has large amounts of money in bank accounts and has many very valuable assets in houses, land etc. So how will 'forfeiting the contents of their wallet' have any impact? -

Has this answered the actual question? Seems to me the question is can the foreigner open a joint account with the name of the foreigner named first and the wife named second in regard to the name of the account holder? I guess that means right now. I have several joint savings accounts with K Bank, my name first then the name of my adult Thai son. But all were open 10 - 15 years ago, maybe the regulations have changed. As you might expect both myself and my son had to be present with proof of ID to open the account and we were told that for any changes to be made to the account we would both need to be present with ID. -

Agree. Could also be a week-end only program - classes all day Sat and Sun. -

True, for many decades BALI has been the main country Australian visit for holidays. Why? - Not so far, flying from Sydney 6hrs 30 min to Bali, from Perth to Bali 3 hr 45 min. - Quite a lot of English spoken by locals. - Good clean food and not expensive. - Good 3 star hotels quite cheap (big range of costs but cheap for Australians). And up to 6 star hotels if you want. Vegemite usually out on the breakfast buffet. - Safe, very little violence. - Great beaches. - Good safe local transport, use Blue Bird taxi if possible, no cheating. Some other taxis do sometimes try to charge more. - Plenty of shopping - good quality to poor quality fabrics, very reasonable prices. - Airport arrival easy. -

OK, but also true Australians at large (200+ years after Australia being a penal colony for the UK) are serious about such matters and expect the various governments to install serious laws about such subjects. From my knowledge the most serious is Japan. Japanese citizens are very very serious about 'don't drive after consuming alcohol'. I was there on a 2 year work project about 15 years ago. An engineer from Australia joined our team. He insisted on socializing with the Japanese team he was leading. The first time he took his team to a pub (actually a karaoke) after work he got drunk, he had a company issue car, he insisted on driving home, the most senior Japanese man in the team confiscated his car keys and a couple of others drove him home. Next morning at the office the senior western manager scolded him strongly. A week later he took his wife to a restaurant for a family celebration. Driving home he was stopped by a Japanese police patrol. He was breathalyzed and was well over the limit. He was held at the police station. Female English speaking officer was quickly organized and took the wife home and stayed with the wife until next morning. Early next morning a senior Japanese police officer called the company and advised that the foreigner would be deported the same day for the drunk driving offence. Police also called the female officer (at the wife's rented house) and told her to inform the Australian wife her visa would be cancelled within 24 hrs., and instructed the officer to help the wife pack all their belongings ready for going to the Kansai airport by midday that day. Early afternoon they flew out, returned to Australia. -

In some states in Australia, seriously over the state limit or second drunk driving offense brings compulsory 30 days jail and compulsory loss of license for 12 months. Third offense compulsory jail for one year, compulsory permanent loss of license, renewal of license not possible ever. -

I guess breaking a side window or the windscreen can be very fast with a heavy weight. Just 1 second, and open the door.
