Breach of rental contract
Jan Dietz replied to Mturner159's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
What does your contract state? At least you're "entitled" to take 30 days to find a better place, won't be hard. -

Simplest way: Buy a USB stick. 32GB should be more than plenty. Provides an easy backup as well for about nothing. SanDisk is pretty OK

Does it have a reasonably standard power supply (desktop computer type)? If so, start by replacing that.

You will need to declare and figure out double taxation laws all by yourself 🙂 Basically nobody knows at this point. Published rules are simple, anything remitted to Thailand after 2024/01/01 is taxed as Personal income tax. Online calculator: https://ata-outsourcing.com/calculate-your-personal-income-tax/

Two factor authentication (2FA) app (urged by WISE)
Jan Dietz replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
You can use any auth app, it doesn't need to communicate with anything after setup. The extra security benefit it the 'something you have' part of authentication. The key stays on your phone and together with the current time it comes up with a predictable number the server can verify. Recording a bunch of numbers doesn't help you deduct the key, so you will need to hold the actual device (unlocked) in order to identify yourself. It's a nice extra layer of protection beyond just a password which regularly gets stolen :) There are three common factors used for authentication: Something you know (such as a password) Something you have (such as a smart card) Something you are (such as a fingerprint or other biometric method) -
Try re-seating it (yank it out, clean the connector with a soft brush, firmly press it back in), and/or try a different HDMI port. Looks like a bad contact. If not, you can do a factory reset, online info points at maybe an issue with the HDR setting.

Just wondering if there's an actual need for a push button at all (I understand with the given lowish resistance given), but why not permanently wire in a 1K or so resistor 1/4W and a red LED? This will trickle charge the caps on the inverter, and all failure modes are accounted for: - Short: LED is bright - Resistor bypassed: LED fails open If you're paranoid you can add a car fuse 5A or so. Mind you for me 5V is the 'high voltage rail' so I may be missing something ????
