  1. Plenty of time to continue the endless repetitive whinging about 14 years of an admittedly useless Tory government whilst he and his new gang of incompetents prepare their own memorable legacy which will no doubt be the same as the one left by the last labour government. I cant imagine anything improving for anybody ever again regardless of which gang of self serving idiots is in the driving seat. Deciding whether to vote for the Tories or labour is like having to choose which terminal disease one would prefer, I think both party's are already fully aware of that and always have been. its the electorate that needs to wake up. as the politicians have no inclination to change the system that has served them so well at our expense for such a long time.
  2. Yeah right , Do I take money from the defenceless vulnerable pensioners living hand to mouth and give a huge inflation busting wage rise to the train drivers who backed by a powerful trade union ( also one of my many financial sponsors) are threatening to continue the endless strikes, Or vice versa ? I bet he spent a very long time agonising over that "difficult decision" So now that he has no need to listen to either wing of "his" party its his way or the highway is it ? are we now at the mercy of a dictator He was not voted in on the basis of any of his party's stated manifesto , he was voted in on the back of a protest vote by the rather small proportion of the electorate many of whom were prepared to cut their nose off to spite their face, and most of who will now be mindful of the well known adage "better the devil you know"
  3. Hope fully Soon to be out of here, Two tier, Free gear , Sir Kier , The labour peer I'm sure the tabloids will make a better job of the Headline than my effort, but seriously he really isn't doing very well at all. The media seem to have smelt blood and could well be building up to the sort of hate campaign that they normally reserve for mortally wounded prime ministers who's days are numbered I doubt they will have to look very hard or dig very deep to uncover material that will discredit him and his cronies further If it was the Tories the resignations and defections would have started already , but non of these lot have anywhere to go . Reform certainly won't want any of them Rather worrying is the thought that if he was removed Angela Raynor might succeed him, all be it temporarily until they can find a proper replacement as apposed to a "box ticker" Bet she could do some serious damage if left unsupervised She would be highly unlikely to resign, as neither MacDonald's or Wetherspoons are taking on at the moment and the benefits system is tightening up Starmer on the other hand will probably never have to work again , well not until all his freebies run out
  4. Well deserved in my opinion, he accuses people of trouble making and trolling , yet his entire contribution to this thread has been nothing but trouble making and trolling. I was thinking of blocking him too but I find him , like many of the idiots on here rather amusing Besides which I never blocked anybody before and don't know how too lol
  5. Very true they have it all nicely tied up Don't forget about The duty free / king power scam too, I also heard that the entire rice exports are controlled by a small number of selected families too. Some here really do live the life of riley, their wealth must be unbelievable. Am I jealous yes, If I had the opportunity would I do the same ? of course
  6. maybe , maybe not personally I haven't had any significant problems But they are not responsible for handing out prison sentences and they are not the keepers of the keys despite what they may have told you that is the job of the courts. Sounds like they have "had your pants down" in the past ? How much did they take you for?
  7. Does your crystal ball also predict the winning lottery numbers ? From a recent thread on this very forum Posted yesterday at 03:51 AM The Cannabis & Hemp Act of Thailand just dropped: 2025 marks the beginning of Thailand's cannabis leadership in the region Keepers of the supply chain face stricter oversight; consumers will be punished with fines for sheer stupidity only. Carl K Linn Thailand unveils new bill to regulate cannabis while keeping it legal As of January 1st, 2025, cannabis consumers in Thailand will have access to the same wide array of dry flower currently available. I think it needs either recalibrating or taking back to the scammer who sold it to you If you will insist on posting misinformation at least try to keep it "on topic"
  8. I didn't know that, because it isn't true, Indians are generally referred to as "khaek" which means "guest" I don't think its particularly pejorative Chinese are often referred to as "Cheen" or rather more impolitely as "jek" are you relatively new here?
  9. Off topic but I will reply, The police were warned off hassling people for cannabis possession just before the change in legislation after they tried to make an example of an elderly person who was "caught" with a very miserable example of a cannabis plant in their garden. Now considering that there are an estimated 10,000 cannabis shops openly supplying what must amount to millions of recreational users. how many arrests for cannabis possession in the last couple of years are you able to provide links to in order to back up your claim ? don't rush I have all day
  10. The topic of this thread states that the baht surged in a similar manner to how it surged in 1998 which is incorrect it did not surge it plummeted in 1998 do you understand that ? If I can get a better exchange rate from anywhere else to that which is on offer from a bank then that becomes the exchange rate I will take advantage of whether its official or not is of no interest to me
  11. Are you not aware of the relatively recent changes regarding cannabis use. "locked up with the keys thrown away" really ?
  12. The average exchange rate is totally irrelevant if one was not here for the whole year Although I imagine the logic behind that statement evades you. What bars were offering was relevant as they were offering more than banks and money exchangers Why would I need to "deflect" anything from somebody of such limited intellect Again look up the meaning and definition of trolling before making such baseless accusations, My original comment was concluded with the words "Am I "confused" or was I dreaming? which several members correctly interpreted , (and politely responded appropriately to,) as a request for clarification as to whether my recollection was flawed or not, hardly the actions of a "troll" Although I am obviously guilty of not allowing for the presence of the village idiot but i will try to put that right here and now Trolling...." to make a deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them" Clearly your rather aggressive response to my totally unprovocative earlier post perfectly matches the above description . Troll
  13. Thanks for saving my sanity, I distinctly remember getting of the plane at Don Muang and the first thing I did was look at the rates on the exchange booths, I could not believe my eyes, I think it was around 80b to the pound double what I had been getting the previous year Happy days indeed I had twice as much to spend as I had the previous year. Still managed to get rid of it all though lol. Mostly on whores and alcohol at least I didn't waste it
  14. Thanks for the confirmation, I have just been accused of trolling by one "enlightened" member (presumably another "expert") I seem to be attracting a lot of them recently
  15. Do you even know what trolling means ? it appears you do not. I did not specify how long that exchange rate lasted for , but it was certainly more than a few days. some of the bars were even offering 100b / to the pound as an unofficial exchange rate and 50b to the dollar for a limited period. where you even here then ? The average exchange rate is actually irrelevant in the context of my post which you seem unable to understand, but being the patient guy that I am I will try again just for you . Read the title of this thread and then refer to my post again. The baht was not "surging" in 1998 it was seriously in decline due to the Asian financial crisis Maybe in your head a surging currency means a currency reducing in value, to me It means completely the opposite,
  16. Has bitcoin suddenly become non fluctuating ? It was worth $71000 back in march and was around $46000 just a couple of weeks ago, currently around $62000 certainly appears to be plenty of scope to be negatively "affected"
  17. Strangely I remember things a little differently . I was getting 90+ baht to the pound in 1998 but before that it was around 40 Am I "confused" or was I dreaming?
  18. No he's not , It was never his intention to keep any of his promises, And had he told the truth about what his plans were nobody would have voted for him
  19. I came in 1995 for exactly the same reason, I think back in those days everybody came for the same reason, and , people were a bit less pretentious. Thailand was a lot more fun back then and nobody even mentioned the words "family resort" it was sin city simple as that and I loved it. Sadly the world is full of puritans and kill joys, they don't like to see people having fun , some have tried their best to have it all stopped and the "family resort " was their intended aim, but they never quite managed to achieve their intentions so what's left is a bit of a sad hybrid , there maybe a few water parks and other stuff for families to do but there is still a lot of mongering going on, but its far from ideal and a poor imitation of what it used to be. It puts me in mind of "soft porn" narrow minded people don't like to watch it and neither do those who like hard core porn I haven't been there (properly) for a long time must be 20+ years but I did spend a couple of days there with the missis a couple of years before the covid scam, I was not very impressed, the bar girls all seemed to have got a bit fatter and more ugly, and the place just did not have the same vibe it used to have , I doubt I will ever go there again, and I feel a bit sorry for those who never really experienced it back in its heyday
  20. To become an electrician, plumber, carpenter or mechanic following the traditional route one would expect to serve an apprenticeship of around 4 years including studying at a technical college maybe one day per week to obtain a formal recognised qualification. Yet it appears anybody with no experience whatsoever can simply slip into the position of prime minister . easy as that. Its not just in Thailand either, we are currently no better off in the UK and have not been so for as long as I can remember. Currently we have a lawyer sat in the hot seat , before him it was some sort of an investment banker. I don't really want to look any further back in time. What is it that makes these people feel qualified to fill such a position? or indeed makes those that put them there feel the same way? I know she's " square faces" sister and he's pulling the strings and making all the decisions etc but it just seems a bit weird to me that totally unqualified people with little to no experience are not only allowed to hold such positions but that they appear to be accepted and taken seriously on the world stage by other politicians many of whom have been at it for years. Personally I wouldn't trust any of them to be capable of completing the most mundane of tasks even making a decent cup of tea. No wonder the world is in such a mess On the other hand I might just have a go myself, can't see that I, or anybody else for that matter would mess up any worse than the current lot
  21. You are joking right ? immigrants are treated as vip's in the uk it native brits who have become second class citizens in their own country.
  22. As far as I was aware Corbyn was put there as a joke, many true blue tories signed up as labour party members just to vote him in as leader, knowing full well that it would render the Labour party unelectable. They were not wrong either
  23. The first thing that struck me on my initial visit to Pattaya in the early 90's was the pristine condition of the drainage pies and the area adjacent to them . I am horrified that such an outstanding feature has now been disrespectfully soiled,
  24. I would imagine he has "people" to do that kind of stuff for him, probably the same people who collect from and return him safely to the day room
  25. well this timely clarification of the legalities should, at least , enable most of the A. N killjoys to sleep easier tonight.
