Woman Arrested for Allegedly Organising Fake Weddings
Bday Prang replied to snoop1130's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am News
The only strong message being sent out here is that AI has a long way to go before it can even produce a news article worth reading This forum used to be called Thai Visa and was my goto source for decent visa information, Following the involvement of AI in most of the stories on here nowadays, I would very reluctant to base any visa related decisions on what I read on this website -

Man high on marijuana crashes car, cuddles pets & smiles at cops

So now one can be determined to be "heavily under the influence" of cannabis purely on the word of a friend? but one needs to be properly tested at a police station for alcohol? Seems a little unfair, I call b/s on the whole story. The only things this incident has highlighted is, One, the appalling standard of journalism at the Thaiger, and, Two, The start of medias next wave of anti cannabis fairy stories that I predicted would soon follow the announcement of the authorities intention to recriminalize cannabis It doesn't seem to matter how incredulous the story , there is no shortage of people only two willing to believe what they read in the papers or especially on line Incidentally as far as I am aware, this is actually the first ever "news" report alleging the contributory involvement of cannabis in a traffic incident, and it is as I said above , based purely on the words of his friend, Now can somebody tell me how many instances of DUI have occured since the legalisation of cannabis , and in how many instances was a conviction secured purely on the word of an alleged drunk driver friend ? Is it only me that finds this rubbish an insult to one's intelligence -

So is her fate to be decided in court or in the police station? Abysmal reporting as usual -
So basically you "like" him based purely on his media image, which he doubtless has professional PR people taking care of. That sounds more than a bit weird to me. But then again I was never taken in by "celebrity culture" The fact is any support you may wish to give is limited to posting on here really, so as such it doesn't really matter who you side with , why even bother?

Tourists behaving badly told to smarten up or stay home!
Bday Prang replied to Shmo's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
well done, you even managed to mention Trump in a thread about badly behaved tourists. That's incredible ! Unless of course you were referring to the legendary british actor and star of 80's TV sit coms the late great Donald Sinden or maybe Hollywood actor Donald Sutherland -
World wide, very very few people become wealthy by being whiter than white, In Thailand nobody gets there without being as bent as a boomerang.Only an innocent child with severe learning difficulties would think otherwise. How easily some people are sucked in by a carefully choreographed media PR campaign is actually quite concerning. Not unlike white lab rats that have had there natural instincts bred out of them and display no fear of predators

There are absolutely no inherent obstacles standing in the way of bribing immigration or any other official in Thailand, This jokers "anti corruption" measures were limited to having immigration offices remove their tip boxes from the prominent counter top positions they used to occupy. Most tip boxes were simply moved under the counter temporarily, I have no grudge against him personally, but for any on here to actually support him or claim he is some sort of angel displays a child like naivety and a laughter emoji is unfortunately the only appropriate response available at present, Do these people also believe that politicians exist for the benefit of society ? "to make a difference" ? judging my some of the gushing comments about "Pita" it would appear so. I didn't realise such gullible souls still existed these days, bless them.

Well I wouldn't live in a "gated community" if you paid me, I also have fruit trees and a garden, I frequently make trips away, and have never had any issues. Kind of rubbishes your theory -

For all the good ot would do you, Imagine, as a foreigner, reporting squatters in your house, to the Thai police, from thousands of miles away, What do you think would happen, ? If you expect them to mobilise a swat team or anybody else for that matter , you are going to end up very disappointed. Are you relatively new to Thailand by any chance? -
Indeed , the operative word being "discourage" Its been proved time and time again that banning things does little to discourage anybody doing anything. Here's a novel idea, why not try educating people, and going one further amd really thinking outside of the box, why not start educating people at a very young age, After all its possible to convince young minds about the existence of fictional gods , heaven and hell , reincarnation etc. to the degree they believe that rubbish for the rest of there lives, wth some even prepared to don a suicide vest and sacrifice themselves on the orders of a cleric/ Getting them to believe that inhaling smoke or vapour containing chemicals, by comparison should actually be a piece of cake, And even older people were convinced to wear masks when out walking alone or alone in their cars recently Banned things become "forbidden fruit" which is always very tempting, even I can see that despite not being an "expert" They might also like to consider the national addiction to sugar which will probably be responsible for more deaths than smoking anything, not to mention the scourge of diabetes and the associated debilitating side effects which will place more strain on the health care system than tobacco ever has

wrong , Its almost obligatory in some places, Council estates in the UK would be one of them, Pro Palestinian marches would be another. as would almost any large gathering of protesting lefty activists Have you seen how the majority of politicians behave in the house of commons? -

But the recent disproportionate media coverage given to these stories recently seems to have taken in the more gullible. It only goes to show how some people on here are easily manipulated -

hardly anybody would come here at all Take away the seedier side of things and there is very little to attract people to this place that can't be found elsewhere. Its not particularly cheap any more either, and their reputation for fleecing tourists is well known, I reckon the TAT are well aware of this -

Are you actually serious or just trolling? I hope they find out who the illegal squatters were and arrange for them to get a bloody good hiding, ideally involving broken legs, Alternative accommodation can then be provided at a local jail or the immigration detention centre afterwards
