  1. One simple question, if this is it, if this is how life with her will be. Will you be happy for the rest of your life?

    "When in doubt, do without"

Even if the other person is fantastic or "perfect" if you are not happy, soon both of you will not be happy and it's best to part ways.

  2. Been hit on by the few at make up counters. I had to get a bunch of things for Halloween last year and met plenty. I have a friend who also works a counter at some little chic place, she's quite convincing.

Moreover Winnie is right, automatically assuming that he wants a working girl and you can't find a ladyboy working a 9-5 is kinda silly.

Riding that bike I'm not surprised...

Jealous of the purple Chaly? Takes a Real Man™ to ride a tiny purple bike. Too bad I sold it about 3 years ago. Have a yellow one now, and in many ways it can be more fun than my 650r.

  3. thanks everyone you have all been amazing!!.

I'll look into all of those recommendations suggested above. We've started to get the ball rolling and getting pricing from hotels with their packages and menu offerings. I know there is probably not much of a right/wrong answer here but are is there usually much room for negotiations with wedding venues and meals ?. If so, would it be approx 20-30% off the list price?. would that be what i should aim for?.

Reason i ask is we have family in Bangkok who usually gets us rooms at Pathumwan Princess and the discount can be up to 50% off rack rates!. I know this is slightly a bit different but it's also common knowledge that prices for foreigners are signicantly increased once they know where you are from =)

    Also TASTE THE HOTEL'S FOOD

Many hotels here put out garbage for large functions and their premade decorations are tacky, another reason we went with a resort and Khun Saa from Iris

  5. I can see the case for not needing/wanting uniforms, but this ad campaign is utterly ridiculous. The uniform is not designed to be sexy, students wear them that way. If they get rid of the uniform, does anyone think that the girls will come fully clothed? These girls are going to wear short skirts and high heels no matter what (for the record, i have no problem with this thumbsup.gif ).

If they want to get ride of uniforms, then how about going about it in a mature fashion (pun intended).

I agree, the connection is laughable. Maybe they should worry more about the quality of education more than their uniform. But then again, I had stupid priorities in University as well.

As much as I love the girls in uniform, I agree that no matter what the dress code is, the girls will sexualize it (not a bad thing for an on looker) if they truly cared the admin would enforce it better. I know individual professors enforce it more than others.

As for a science faculty, I always had a strict dress code in lab. Improper dress meant you were barred from entering, simple as that.

If they truly wanted to talk about uniform not being a measure of education, showing university rankings of the US and EU where uniforms are not mandatory would have been a better campaign....

  6. That steed is a cracker. unfortunately the advertisement is over a year old and unlikely to still be available. The bike is 20 years old. Is that the normal price for a bike this old ? Thanks. I am a genuine buyer so if you know of a steed or something similar for sale at this price, I would be very interested.

All if those ads are no more than 3 pages deep on a fast moving board. He listed it in March, been bumping it since, now asking 65,000. 60-100k for a 400cc steed is normal depending on condition, 80-150k for a 600cc

Don't follow the steed market, might be a hard sale or something wrong with the bike or book. Mocyc.com is a great site too. My thai is to the point where I can read easily, so I either translate the page or copy and past it into google translate and press the listen button

  7. For scooters its better to rent if for only 6 months

    Disagree. 6 months x 3000 baht = 18000 baht

You can buy not bad scooter for 15000 baht and quickly resell it for 10000 baht or more, depends how quick you want get rid of it.

Also, in 6 months you might scratch your bike and rental company will charge you for repair a lot. If you scratch your own one, it will not decrease much on value.

I do not know how much to rent CBR250, but must be similar proportion.

800Baht per day with cheaper rates if you do it long term. But even if you get it for 15,000/months instead of 24,000 it's much smarter to get a used one.

Also, the Ninja250 should start devaluing much quicker now that the 300 came out.

While the CBR might be a better in town bike with the lower RPM grunt, the Ninja is nicer when ridden in the higher RPM's and looks 1000x better than the CBR

  8. You can get a decent scooter for 15k so you would do better to buy one, you can get a used CBR250 for 80,000

But the insurance is going to be more.

But it's much nicer to own. Do you have a place to store the bike when you are not here?

  9. ^ If people in Chiang Mai are happy paying more than what the fine actually is then that's up to them.

And yes, the insurance holds up according to the 2 or 4 people I know who have been in accidents with a non-plated but insured vehicle.

Thanks for the info Wong! I am going to ask the transport people what I need to get all of this done for my Chaly.

  10.

    Loud pipes save lives!

No further comment to such stupidity!

Disclaimer: I'm not claiming this would have resulted in death, just pain and injuries !

I was saved from an accident by having louder than normal, but still legal pipes.

As it was, i was driving down on pattaya tai and about to take over,

when this thai guy on a hunch got the idea of turning into a soi on the left,

without prior look in mirror, nor signal nor positioning.

It would have been a crash had he not heard something big was coming up his ar$se,

he had a change of heart and we could both carry on with our lives

I've also noticed that many Asians seem to be oblivious to horns as it's a frequent noise (maybe not so much in Thailand) But a quick blip of a throttle makes them aware much faster than a horn beep....

  11. 200-400? The BiB must be taking a piss on the guys I know who've had to pay this fine, Up here in Chiang Mai they have all paid 1000B

As for the 3rd party, I've heard about and seen this done successfully. But will this hold up in the case of an accident? I have a Honda Chaly and 1-5% of these bikes were ever registered. been thinking about selling it because of the no insurance thing. If I could get it insured I would be extremely happy.

  12. Denki pretty much nailed it.

The invoice may prevent you from losing the bike, but paying a 1000B fee and once cops start pulling you over for that fine, they won't stop as you become a cash cow for them.

As for not seeing anything for 70-80k, you are not looking hard enough. While you will not be getting a legal GB400/clubman or SR400, you can get:

    Savage

    Steed

    Vulcan

    XJ400

    CB1

    Super Four

    Virago

    VFR400

    Bros400

examples of such here in Chiang Mai:

  13. Hey, Not sure about her English abilities, but Iris Florist was both my wedding planner and my florist.

http://www.iris-florist.com/?page_id=200 Picture 1 and 3 are actually of my wedding at Kao Mai Lanna resort out in Hang Dong / Sanpatong. We picked this location over a Hotel because the resort was beautiful. I think we looked at the Chedi, but renting out the resort ended up being cheaper, but we had well over 150 people come.

She also handled all the cards etc etc.

  14. Everyone stating that they have never had a problem with AA have never needed to attend one of their counters. They are the slowest workers I have ever seen. They only leave one window open, despite there being multiple workers, they don't care that they take 10-40mins per person when they have a line of 20 people

You get this enjoyment while looking at Nok air right next door and see that they have multiple windows open and if they have a line it's moving quickly.

I only tke AA now if they are massively cheaper,
