  1. I have a serious problem with my window 7 new HP notebook

I cannot update my Adobe reader, it says i do not have permission.

I went to regedit and some permission cannot be change, some can.

I uninstall my precedent adobe reader, NOW i do not have it on my notebook (and need it)

it for any raison do not let me install a new version, Or older version.

I suppose the original reader came with the notebook preinstall, and for a stupid raison they lock on me, I have problem installing opera as well.

My last 2 situations will be to buy window 7 professional (that was on the plan) and do a clean install on the notebook or find someone who know

BUT BUT if someone have a clever suggestion, please tell me

    many thanks

PS i am log as admin and change the compatibility in th properties

  2. Have an Italian made Zanussi front load washing machine, no problems at all four years down the track. Front loader is the way to go as they use less water than a top loader and do not have an agitator to tangle the clothes. Still looks and performs like new.

It is funny I have a zanussi as well, bought them (washer & dry ) over 11 years ago.

Good machine, but I think do not sell in Thailand anymore.

Do you know it is the same company as Electrolux if you need repair.

At home overseas I have a asko

  3. where are the macro's located?

and get ur fresh produce from the fresh market, not the 'super'market. who get it from the fresh market a few days in advance - thats why it stinks. its decomposing.

    ef

Macro stores located all over Bangkok, not all are the same, the one I am going now is much better as the precedent.

Fresh fish as salmon, they have good frozen products blueberries / smoke salmon, but meats are not a buy for me.

I enjoy the shopping at Top for many products (central Pinklaow)

Fresh food market for duck fillet, fresh bone chicken, eggs, vegetable

    I like Foodland as well

The places i do not like are Tesco / Carrefour / villa market

  4. ADDED - Obviously the finance company will NEVER release the book until they are paid off. If the book is to be released, someone will have to pay off the balance.

I just wonder how a finance company will finance your car if the blue book takes few weeks to be issue to them.

In the main time, the blue book could be register to some other finance? non?

And I think it is very wise if bought a second hand car to deal between finance & vendor at the same time + walk away with the blue book.

In Australia to receive a insurance cheque from a total write off i did need to pass at the finance company to clear my account.

  5. I open coffee shops in Melbourne Australia (Acland street / Southgate) , from 1988 – 1997 I made enough to set up myself and retired at 40, bought one of the freehold along the way.

Now it is overdone, nearly impossible to compete, every man and his dog open a coffee shop

SAME in Thailand, it is overdone, 15 year ago, you will have the opening but not now.

Coffee bean, milk are more expensive in Thailand, with rental and overhead, I do not see any profit, every street have carts selling espresso coffee (not good stuff but they are here)

Difficult market, Starbuck restructure his business and close 61 of it 84 shops in Australia..

I seeing few posts for coffee shop in Bangkok in thaivisa, if you do a search you will find them.

Follow manjara post for cost and advice, it is accurate

  6. Jetstar - MEL-BKK especially at promo rates can be anywhere up 2 $500 cheaper than its competitors. Only other comparison for direct flight as far as i am aware is Thai.

I just booked starclass @ promo rate - return ticket March - April for $1040. Previously have only ever flown economy with Jetstar usually sleep most of the way but never had a problem.

I will comment after returning as to whether starclass was worth it.

I do not think they run this promotion BKK-MEL (return)

I took starclass last year, use the quanta’s lounge before departure (champagne & some correct food) as the meal offer in the starclass are the same as economy (just no charge).

On my return none of the dedicated check-in was open, and service was rude ! I write a complaint letter and got a call + complimentary voucher from them for next time.

I ring them from Mel, i was not sure if i was coming with the H1N1 and ask if i could change my return date, they very fast to tell you : As you using a StarClass at discount price the charge will be AU$200.

I am a tall guy & find difficult to travel with thai in economy (mainly the entertainment box under the seat)

I am really tossing at the airline i will use next time, malaysia airline is 20000 baht cheaper compare to Thaiairway (business)

The quote i got from Jetstar (StarClass 48000 bahts), it is half the price compare to thai business class.

I will be happy not to fly with Jetsar

  7. Therefore, before you leave the US buy yourself two pairs of the famous French shoes "Mephisto" you can wear them every day, and they will last you for about ten years each, this will solve your problem for some twenty years "shoe-wise"

The Mephisto shoes look really good to me, but buying shoes ‘online’ sound bit strange!

Only few shops around the world, wonder how they done before the online shopping times to become so exclusive.

MontBlanc, Gucci, Rolex, Hermes all have shops in major cities

  8. I bought Scholl shoes lately, I find them good.

My problem is I am wearing sandal 49 weeks a year and I need get out the tree for 3 weeks for travelling , I find it painful to wear shoes for more of few hours during meeting, walking !

Not looking at cost, what will be the most comfortable wearing shoes brand?

  9. I keep this place quiet; it is the best food and my favourite restaurant.

I go there generally with Chinese / Thai people, I will say pure Thai will not understand it and be shock by the price.

I went there 2 weeks ago, 3 people, bill was about 4000 baht

We have steam prawns, Poo Kay done (pickle crab) only I like this dish (raw crab), whitebait, Pla Boo (expensive fish), Crab garlic, plus other dishes.

    All was superb food....

I try 3 locations, but only one is number one, the two other I think it is too expensive for quality offer at the top expensive dishes I like to order.

If I have to go in the other locations I will take less expensive items on the menu.

Other locations are bigger / cheaper & perhaps more Thai people will go there, one is in Rama 4

Ring the number for exact address for other location.

The one i keep secret & the one who is the original Jengor is:

JE NGOR’S KITCHEN (SI-PHAYA) call to JE NGOG SEAFOOD

541/9 Charoen krung soi 39, New Road (Si-Phaya)

    Bangrak District, Bangkok 10500

    Telephone 02-2358537 02-2348275

Not far from Hualonpong station, not far for Sureewong Road

  10. Just a point for those that dont realise.....when an agent says there are no rooms available at a hotel that you particularly want to stay in then phone that hotel directly. There are always rooms available its just that the agents allocation of rooms has been booked up.

When I am booking a hotel I generally check agents prices and also phone direct to see how much the hotel is charging. If its the same price then I generally deal direct.

    HL :)

The inverse was for me, i ring the hotel i want to stay in, and they say it was fully book.

Looking around i find in agoda 2 set of rooms left for this hotel

  11. I am French, but Carrefour is out my list as well

Villa is totally out, it sold me items with a new sicker added to the old one

Tesco is not so good for fresh food stuff

The best I find so far is Tops / central in Pinklaow with best yoghurt, and some items I like (tuna in olive oil)

*central revamp is food center when Lotus open next door ! before was not interesting

I do Macro for smoked salmon / frozen berries / fresh salmon / organic veg near wisutacasa (not all have the same items)

Foodland is ok, i drop in it some time

But I still go to the fresh food market for many items (duck fillet / prawn / beef cheek)

  12. SIMCITY - wait till mine is done, will let you know. 2nd floor MBK, if coming in from car park, first one on north side of car park

I am in the same situation, i stupidly bought a TAG series 6000 many years ago, and every time I need to change the battery + service the price charge by Tag service centre are arsonist.

I do not where this watch anymore, and will not service it anymore by Tag

Bought a recto verso automatic Jaeger Lecoutre instead

In MBK, I remember a shop having some second hand watches and a sign if my memory is good saying: Farang customers do not tell me the price of my watches is expensive, keep in mind the tax here are higher

Just wonder if it is the same shop as the one you went.
