  1. If that's the case then and you can't abide with Thai law then off you go back to the UK. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like it if the UK became chock a block with migrants that are there illegally.
  2. Those 4 people on that motorcycle are just as lethal on the road as a allegedly drink driver. The only thing that's certain in this thread is the riders on the motorcycle were a danger to other road users.
  3. And if he hasn't obtained a Thai driving license after being here for 3 months or more his insurance will be invalid. It's in the fine print if you are a farang.
  4. Pay attention to my posts. My children are teenagers and I've been here 17 years. That may help you understand that they're too young to legally drive a car. Also, as a family, we have 2 cars and shortly I'll start to introduce them to the basics of driving.
  5. If she'd been taught by a Thai in the ways they drive I'd imagine she'd be dead by now. Only if he's found to be guilty. What a lynch mob we have on this thread. Oh so you were there? Amazing.
  6. We know not if the motorcycle was roadworthy also ie all lights were working and his tyres weren't tread bare? I'll wait for the movie to come out.
  7. IF(?) he has insurance it's more likely he will. As I doubt the Thai will have. If they were on a motorcycle side car there is no way they will have insurance. If they were insured on a normal motorcycle then it's more than likely the insures will not pay cuz of the amount of people on the vehicle. Either way the farang pays for his Fortuner.
  8. Allegedly. Who sez they're poor? Just you Hammer. My family have a motorcycle side car. Are we poor? No. Far from it. Same goes for others around here who ride motorcycle sidecars. It is what it is and it serves a purpose, rich or poor.
  9. Do you really think the witness would come out on the side of the farang? ????
  10. Been here married for 17 years and have 3 teenage children. Thais as well as farangs show their stupidity at times, more so the Thais. Even my wife gets short tempered at the way some/most behave and act. I taught my missus to drive and it's her that now points out the error of their ways. So it's not all a one sided issue. This is basically a farang oriented site. If they have the same but in my country I'm 100% sure they would take the same views on us as we do on them.
  11. Now if the Thais hadn't broke the law there wouldn't have been as many people injured. If the farang is found guilty then they should take the Thais stupidity into account as well.
  12. It's not proven he was driving under the influence of drink. No proof he caused the accident. Only proof we have is the Thais were driving illegally without the the legal requirement expected of them.
  13. I don't have to see it to know it's BS. Try Googling.
  14. 1) Only one way to go where I live. 2) No person to be informed. Other than the embassy. 3) No will. All my assets the wife can access without a lawyer.
  15. Same for me. My wife will have easy access to her share of my works pension which will be paid monthly into our joint UK online bank account. Basically no need for a will.
  16. Wrong. After cremation, the remaining gold is essentially indistinguishable from the ashes to such a point it cannot be found.
  17. If you have a sound relationship then putting all your finances into joint accounts is a good thing? ????
  18. I can understand that but surely it's not the Buddha way to steal from the dead? There must be some bad karma that will that will come down on them?
