  1. Some years ago my MiL lost 5 Baht gold. A woman who lives opposite her found it. Knowing it belonged to my MiL she gave it back. She could well have kept it as there were no witnesses. In return my wife gave her a job as a house cleaner twice a week. She's a <deleted> cleaner but honesty paid in this case. Definitely trust worthy.
  2. As I pointed out earlier. They should never be taken as gospel to being correct.
  3. Along with many others on this thread. Another poster that doesn't know what he's talking about. https://petkeen.com/can-golden-retrievers-be-aggressive/
  4. Lets get things right. They are not 'Chanote' markers. They are concrete blocks marking land boundaries. A 'Chanote' is a certificate of ownership of land. Proving someone moved a land marker post is going to be an uphill task.
  5. Does it really matter about the markers? No, cuz they are easily moved/lost due to farming. The land papers are the most important thing along with the GPS readings.
  6. I find Honda self propelled to be the best lawn mowers available. But they have three faults. First you cannot have a mulching accessory. My garden is too big to collect the cuttings. Second they don't like wet grass. Third the handle bar is metal and my garden is big so I sweat a lot and the handle bar corrodes very quickly in time. Another small point is that they are very expensive.
  7. You won't go wrong in Thailand if you follow 'Hummin' advice 2 posts up. It just so happens I told an IO that I wasn't going to pay the 400 Baht he was asking me for to transfer the stamps from my old passport to my new one. He backed off. There is NO fee. Obviously he thought I was a newbie.
  8. How to open any Thai parking boot. Done and dusted in 5 minutes. Panic over.
  9. It's worth more than a look IMHO. A really well put together documentary about the death of George Floyd. Not to be missed.
  10. You managed to find a vet that put your dog down? I'm amazed. https://thairesidential.com/pets-vets-and-veterinarian-clinics-in-phuket/#:~:text=But things are a little,in a predominantly Thai area.
  11. If there's money involved of course they would. All started 10 years ago. https://www.thestar.com.my/lifestyle/living/2018/12/22/thai-temple-pet-cremation
  12. I had a disability parking badge back in the UK. Didn't take me long to realize that obtaining one here would be more trouble that it was worth. Thais disregard any notices that try to stop them doing exactly what they want irrespective of upsetting others. Outside most large supermarkets they have road markings telling them not to stop and drop off their passengers at the main doors. Do they take notice?
  13. It hasn't it still rolls on. I told my wife I was too old to tolerate having children. Even she wishes she'd paid attention to my warnings.
  14. Be careful. https://thethaiger.com/news/national/disability-rights-activist-jailed-for-shaming-a-motorist-parked-in-a-disabled-bay
  15. After reading https://asiatimes.com/2022/09/the-road-to-war-in-ukraine-fact-vs-fiction/ I believe The US to be the guilty party in pushing Putin to invade Ukraine.
  16. Yes they do. Because we never colonized it.
  17. Hence the need for a self defense weapon ie a stun gun. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/801-i3327539796-s12342170612.html?clickTrackInfo=undefined&search=1&spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.i40.15c86656X5HIP2
  18. Obviously they don't know who the absconding driver is/was. Before they can sentence him to 10 years jail they've got to prove he was the driver. The car may not have been registered like many motor vehicles in Thailand. Finding out who was driving is going to be hard.
  19. Brilliant documentary The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness
  20. Looking good so far.
  21. The OP should have published a photo of himself and I'd have asked some ladies around where I live. My wife is always getting asked if I have a friend who's looking for a lady.
  22. I recommend 'Dahmer' but I felt it was deliberately drawn out and so I fast forwarded parts that didn't really fit into the story.
