  1. People put China down but it will just get better in terms of the quality of its products. Japan was put down in the 70s and it just rose and rose in quality. Of course, the Chinese scumbag government is another story.
  2. Just found this. Doesn't seem seem available anywhere. It's a short. Not sure what that means. If anyone knows where to find it please post details.
  3. This is for the young Thais who see no future in Thailand. Today one told me she has lived half her life under this regime. Many many others want to flee abroad for better lives with human rights. Honestly, I've never seen Thais so disappointed about their lives. Sometimes you just gotta fly away as soon as you can.
  4. You could take a raft lunch trip in Kanchanburi. You just talk to the people who arrange the trips right there near downtown Kanchanburi. You could visit the 100 year old market in Suphanburi. Look it up online. A day walking around the temples of Ayuttaya with noodles for lunch. Get on the Skytrain and take it to the end of the Sukumvit Line. From there about 100 baht in the Taxi and you are by the mudflats and sea. There's a science research area there and a long pier that you can walk out to the end of and have lunch in its restaurant. There may be other sites or stops along the skytrain to fill the day. Dreamworld is an amusement park which is near Future Park Mall Rangsit which has ice skating.. There's also Suan Siam for a waterpark but not sure where in BKK that is. The last recommendation is the Annual Thai Family Nudist Festival which this year is going to be held with the Thai 420 Ganja and Mushroom Festival on the same day in Nakon Nayok. No, I'm just kidding.
  5. It's also true that Ronald McDonald is a Scottish name and he has a strange resemblance to a Braveheart character from history.
  6. I can prove it's true but this is the top brand of TP in Scotland. It's the Scotland version of Scott.
  7. These could be vaccines that have a shorter expiry date or something on them or vaccines which were to go to some other place but were rejected for whatever reason. There's lots of possible reasons why they might not fit the original promise. Even damaged shipping boxes could worry some people. The US has a lot of stubborn people who don't want the vaccine so vaccines in various places around the US they planned for Americans may also be starting expire so they have got to get rid of them at the last minute. With some people desperate for what they think is a better vaccine you'd think there would be a huge back market going on for this stuff. I wonder what is going on out of sight.
  8. You mean mysteriously miscounted by the Thais who receive them. Most will go the the rich, powerful and connected.
  9. Those getting sued don't have much hope, but they can organize a coup and takeover the nation without fear of legal problems. Once their generals are in power, they can have their trial their way with their courts if they want. Signing off on a thesis is a lot more legally risky in Thailand than taking over the nation using the military.
  10. SO many interesting movies and series to choose from. I already watch way way too much TV. I just have to watch at least the first episode at least to see if I'm missing something good.
  11. On a side note, I took my 25-year-old Thai daughter to get her first Thai passport in UbonRatchathani early this month. We got there on Friday and the passport came via the post office's express mail on following Tuesday. That was fast service! At the time, there weren't too many people there when she went in. It probably took her 15 minutes to submit the documents. The previous time there, we probably spent an hour or so there due to lines of people.
  12. In the past month, both windows computers we have (from Thailand) have had popups saying your license has expire please renew or something like that. Well, you know what they are being form Thailand. This made me think about real versions again. I bought many of the old ones up to Windows 7 and was happy and could install them. Then I bought a new laptop and Windows 7 wouldn't work so I had to use Windows 10 but at that time gave up and did what 90% of Thailand does instead of buying the real thing. Now, there's Windows 11 and some are talking about needing another faster PC for the best experience. It all gets boring. I don't like this number 7.8.10.11 bs too. They used to go by year. Are you buying into a 2011 Windows version? Shouldn't it be Windows 21? How about using a color like Microsoft Blue or Windows Omega. Just ranting. I'll cough up the money, try to use Ubuntu again or buy an Apple.
  13. I've just come back from the Northeast to Prathumthani and one thing I notice different here is that at night around 2am there's a white fog or smog everywhere. It's been cooler so maybe it's that, but I worry about air pollution. We have what I guess is a small trash to energy plant about five kilometers away and some nights its exhaust pollution has made a direct line for our apartment. Around the time Covid hit in 2020, I felt I was hit by what I thought was the PM2.5. I didn't wear a mask for that pollution and at that time people hadn't started the masks for Covid. Despite living in the same area 20 years, I never was affected by the air pollution that way others claimed to be. I still don't know if it was the 2.5 which got me which was an issue up until Covid became the issue in Thailand. I felt a serious loss of breath for six months after that and still have issues. The masks we wear today make me feel like I can't breath a lot of the time but I wear them. Anyways, just my experience. I hope the air pollution problem isn't as bad as it was in the past.
  14. Thanks for the answer. I get that but Korat and Chaiyaphum don't necessarily go toward Bangkok or the Thai seacoast. Some of this may or may not go through Esarn in the Mun river to Ubon and into the Mekong. I believe the Korat dam water will go that way now after talking to a friend but I'm not sure about the Chaiyaphum stuff. That could go the way of Saraburi towards the lower lands. If it doesn't it might cause a problem on route 2 like we've had in the past. I don't want to get stuck in traffic on my way to Surin.
  15. Is this water going to cut off the route 2 highway or the lower route 24 to Surin? Anyone live in Korat and have insight on this? Is this the same water flooding Chaiyaphum or will that water go another way?
  16. Riding a motorcycle one night I got bitten by some smaller bug. I don't remember the name but right after it happened I felt it come on strong. The mark might have lasted a day or so. I guess it was a bug that doesn't normally bit unless it feels endangered. Sometimes it can get between the cloth and you and it reacts. For some reason something that looks like an Earwig came to mind. I don't really remember it well, it happened decades ago. The Net says while they can bite, they rarely do. They also have pinchers. It could have been this one, too. I just remember it was about this length.
  17. Now, Twitter will caught up in financial investigations more and more and it will start going the FB way with more and more verification of the account owners and sharing of more and more data with authorities. It'll lose the last of its lingering wild west freedoms it has had.
  18. I think the Thai pronunciation for this company is Supabol. They should be taking bets.
  19. 1) Where is the water from Petchabun ultimately going to? Bangkok? 2) And what about Chaiyaphum's water? Is that going into Korat ? I just wonder if water will block that Esarn highway because I'd like to go to Surin from Bangkok soon. On the general topic, I noticed they have let out water from the canals where I am in Prathumthani. I guess they are preparing for what's on the way.
  20. This is an oldie from the 1930s remade in the 60s I guess???
  21. Here's one that I remember from a very young age. Not a movie. The opening is powerful and the haunting images of faces burning I think would shock and attract the interest of TV viewers today were this on regular TV. It's just history but for me the best documentary series despite its age. The first episode is here but you can see the opening of it. Older folks will remember this well I think.
