  1. There is ALWAYS a 2nd wave.  I don't know why people are talking about it like it's some dire prediction that nobody is sure about.  It's an absolute certainty and already happening in some places.  Probably never ending waves until it just because part of flu season but they will gradually become less of a news story as herd immunity takes hold.

I'm so proud to be graciously able to stay on a yearly allowance in a country that is so technology great on all worldly levels. I just hope it is true for once!

Spoiler: it's not.  There is a massive difference between saying you are making good progress and releasing a properly tested effective vaccine to the masses.  It's still a year away at best and I can almost guarantee you it won't come from Thailand.

Agree! To those who peddler hoax ideas like this pandemic is some sort of liberal leftist conspiratorial hoax take a look at the numbers out of Spain Italy Brazil and the next terrible phase that seems to be unfolding in the US to see a glimpse of what would have, and might still happen, if this things is not taken seriously.

if it was being taken seriously then American leadership would be encouraging people to lose some weight instead of calling it a liberal hoax.

While that two-block section of 16th St. has been renamed Black Lives Matter Plaza on Google Maps, still wating for a a satellite update to show this new "statement".

Half-expecting ag barr and his little green men to paint over it, all in the name of "law and order".

They have no authority to do that and the mayor knows it.

More than a few, many millions and what of the non black citizens of America, what are they to think now?

Not the brightest mayor, wouldn’t “all lives matter” be more inclusive?

Actually, I thought that was a brilliant move.  I think this was the same guy who rejected bunker boy's idea of having an authoritarian gov't style military parade as well.

  5. The latest craze is intermittent or micro fasting.  I don't have a weight problem but I do have a problem with weight fluctuation from time to time.  It seems to have helped with that.

There are different ways to do it but what seems to work for me is to just delay breakfast.  Instead of eating right after I get up, I wait a few hours.  From what I have read it's supposedly good for you to get hungry once in awhile and stay that way for a little bit.  So that's all intermittent fasting is doing.

Honestly, do you really think anyone anywhere is going to travel there?  Other than a few old foggies with too much time on their hands and money, nope.

Speak for yourself.  I'm looking at flights right now and not some old foggie.  It's just that as of this moment Thailand is a non-starter.  However, I'm fairly confident this silly idea of quarantining all tourists for 14 days will go away any day now.

Yes because there were no lockdowns in 1968. Assume for a minute that no country imposed a lockdown for Covid. We could be on a million or more deaths already. Swine Flu and SARS were contained relatively quickly so the damage was limited Unfortunately China held back far too long before telling the world of Covid.

It's important to point out that lock-downs and travel restrictions etc. were NEVER intended to prevent deaths.  They were ONLY intended to flatten the curve.  Put another way, they only change the date on the death certificates.

But now that gov'ts have gotten used to the power that people are allowing them to wield, the narrative seems to have changed.  Now they seem to want endless lock-downs and restrictions because....reasons.  You rarely hear them talk about flattening the curve as the reason anymore because the statistics show that's already happened.

For me is my $100 studio apt--Plenty of cheap food options and affordable healthcare--simple living

As all of the above are $$$$ in Trumpworld--where I am currently stuck--I regret coming back in march

I dont golf or pay to play--I ride my bike--eat street food and got my teeth cleaned with filling for $65 where it was quoted at $160 just for a cleaning here in covid city---certainly doesnt feel like my America is great..

Where in Thailand can you get a $100 studio apartment?  Certainly not in Pattaya or Bkk.  At least not anything even remotely to western comfort standards.

    I find your post odd.

It's in the vein of regarding 45 as just another president with normal pros and cons as any president.

    No!

There is nothing normal about this man and his presidency.

His rule has resulted in massive damage to both domestic American society and international relations.

Some may take generations to repair. Some may be permanent.

So you want something positive about him?

How about something like the trains are running on time?

He has probably being trying to defund what little assistance Amtrak may still get to try build that stupid wall of his.  Or at least defund whatever gov't agency oversees and regulates them.  So sadly no, not even that.

Trump says he went to White House bunker to 'inspect' it - not because of protests

"The president also denied that tear gas was used on peaceful protesters outside a historic church in Washington DC, to clear way for him to stage a photo opportunity"

Yes, bunker boy didn't actually poop his pants, he was just checking their capacity.

Calling any US politician a marxist is an insult to Karl Marx.

At least he didn't try blame Hillary or Soros.   So could have been more cringey. ????

I guess "I don't take responsibility at all" bunker boy is somehow totally absolved in all this.  He's only responsible for good things that happen. ????

  12. I have walked out of restaurants after waiting while watching several tables of people that arrived after us getting their order taken.  It's not that uncommon to get wierd non-service like that.  When you do do it, it's best to not try make a scene imo because it's a loss of face and Thais tend to react badly to that.
