They work in Thailand no domestic cases in 12 weeks, the only ones they had are people arriving on repatriation flights again that’s if you believe what they say ?

If they work then how come there are no cases now with no lockdowns?  I know that must give you a headache forcing you to think it through and realizing that doesn't add up.  And again, there is no such thing as no cases anywhere like it's totally irradicated from Thailand.  That's pretty much impossible.  Just like it's not possible to totally irradicate the common flu even with vaccines for that.

Appears to work in Thailand if you believe the numbers ?

Please provide the evidence that is because of lockdowns, which they have not had for months now.  By your logic the number of cases should have gone up after the lockdowns ended.  And no, there is no such thing as no cases whatsoever.  That's pretty much impossible.  Sooner or later there will be more cases.  Whether that's because they can't hide it anymore or more testing or whatever.

Peru had one of the strictest lockdown policies early on and now they have some of the highest numbers of cases.

Sweden never had lockdowns and they are no better or worse off than many countries that had lockdowns.

The evidence is there in plain site for people willing open their eyes.

Thailand will have to do what other countries do self isolation and if there are any outbreaks have local lockdowns. Because they have lock downed they have no idea how to move forward they have got to accept Covid will be here long term and learn how to manage it.

The verdict is in and lockdowns don't work.  I don't know why anyone is still doing it other than to try look like they are doing something.

Sweden becomes an example of how not to handle COVID-19

But the death toll from Sweden's outbreak is now the fifth-worst in the world, per capita. The country's mortality rate from the coronavirus is now 30% higher than that of the United States when adjusted for population size.

They are basically equal with the US on that meaningless statistic you mentioned as are about 10 other countries.  Well within the margin of error which makes sense because all it is showing is percentage that die which should be very similar in 1st world countries. But they are far far below on number of cases per 1 Mil which is a much more meaningful statistic you conveniently ignored.

This is not surprising. America is not the only country to have exceptionalists. The Thais have done a remarkable job of propaganda for many years. They truly believe they are the undefeated master race of Asia. Mongkut and Chulalongkorn did a masterful job of protecting Thailand against colonization by simply ceding certain land holdings to European powers. This is the kind of brilliance that would have saved Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar if they had leaders with this kind of diplomatic savvy.

I'm not sure if it's that simple.  Thailand is a hierarchical society so you have to look at it through that lens.  A lot of Chinese Thais think they are better than Farangs but Issan Thais don't.  It also may have something to do with their education system.  I don't think they are taught much about the outside world and they don't seem to have that much interest in it either.  I was watching a WWII movie with a girl once and she asked me with a straight face whether the Nazi's were the good guys or the bad guys.  True story.

Anyone know a doctor or specialist that is willing to prescribe twice-weekly testosterone for TRT that won't charge 10,000THB for a single Nebido injection every 30-90 days at their clinic?

I feel like I've contacted every clinic in Thailand and it's the same story. Firmly against anything else (sutanon for instance) and even had one doctor openly laugh when asked about injecting multiple times a week

And what does that tell you?

Well that will be Singapore out of the financial doldrums, with the arrival of the big spending kiwi contingent ????????

A lot of connecting flights go to Singapore.  You need connecting flights before you can get to Thailand.  To put a new spin on an old saying, It's checkers not chess.  NZ is a direct flight to Singapore so that's probably one of the reasons they are allowing it.  It would not make sense to allow people from a country that can't get a connecting flight to Singapore anyways.

Thailand seems incapable of creating underground transportation. Instead you have to have these fugly concrete elevated rails blocking the view. They just love their concrete.

I think the fact it's by the ocean would make that a problem, at least near beach rd where it's needed.  And it would flood every time it rains.  So elevated does make more sense.

Whenever I hear monorail I think of that Simpsons episode.

There is some truth to that.  They always seem like the least expensive most practical option at first but always end up costing a lot more and having all kinds of maintenance issues.  They would be better off just doing a scaled down version of Bkk skytrain.

The clown should stick with dodgy property development and golf courses, the job he's got is out of his league! He is making America and Americans look stupid! I know they are not all stupid and I sincerely the smart ones get out to vote in numbers to remove this fool before he does another 4 years of damage!

1x Adult British  2x Childrenn Thai/British, trip to UK to visit family.

BKK to UK-Manchester July 15th 2020, most things were normal except had to wear a mask on the flight and fill out a form on arrival in the UK. cost baht 220,000 ( for 3 people )

Booked return flight for 21st August with commercial airline, then later realised all commcercial flights for August had been cancelled, then read the news about Thailand only running repatriation flgihts.

Getting back to Thailand is more difficult,

    1. no commercial flights only 3x repatriation flights per month ( each flight only 50 seats for Non-Thais ) cost baht 83,000 economy / 350,000 business ( for 3 people )

    2. fit to fly certificate and COVID19 lab test no more than 72 hours before flight, cost 15,000 baht ( for 3 people )

    3. medical insurance 100,000 USD to include COVID-19 cost ? not yet established

    4. on arrival into BKK go into quarantine for 2 weeks at a "ASQ hotel" cost approx 100,000 baht ( for 3 people )

    Sorry, I mean 802.11 ...

Yes, but the problem is phone's hotspot wifi on same channel works, but not AP WiFi...

I'm trying to see what phone's hotspot wifi uses , b or g or n protocol, or is it ac, so far no luck, it's Samsung S6...!?

AP is using n, because I get 65mbps on speed test, the g can only go up to 54mbps according to 802.11 documents...

So I think the problem is there. We had AP on g before , well b/g, but next condo found out it was slow, and mentioned it to me, after some checks I remembered AP was set to b/g , by me, because we had some stability issue. After I set to b/g/n and speed went up...

But we have stability issue again now. I'm just reading on the web that n is more prone to interference in general, hence all the issues we are having..., and my headphone too...

Location matters.  If you are 1 m away from your phone but 5m away from your router you might not see interference from a microwave on the phone hotspot.

Anyways, when I had those problems it ended up being my neighbors cordless phone and my microwave.  Changing the WiFi band didn't matter 2.4Ghz cordless phones constantly frequency hops and microwaves kill all the 2.4Ghz bands.

You can get apps for your phone that show nearby wifi signals.  So I would take a look at that and try pick a band that nobody else nearby is using.

Or just get a router that supports 802.11a and just use the 5Ghz band.

  12. So is that where the current train station is?  It sort of matches up with the map of that area but it could also be the area around the South Pattaya train station across from Thep Prasit Rd.

I think this is more than just a pipe dream since the high speed rail is already approved and this development is being done by the same company building that.
