  1. Nothing actually worse than adults who assume things they know little about. I don't refuse to leave. I have a child here that I need to move with and re- establish in a new house, school and country. Moving isn't easy for those with a family and a house full of things.
  2. I would be there today if I could, but will be there as soon as I can.
  3. Do you have a computer? You obviously have internet, so you can google it. Pork Curry I've had in San Antonio and Austin has many Thai restaurants you can google their menus.
  4. Hawaii is one state. There are 49 more plus Puerto Rico.
  5. Anything you can get anywhere you can get in the US. There are hundreds of thousands of Asians there, along with chefs from Asia. Thousands of Asian markets where you can buy almost everything you can here,or grow it yourself.
  6. Crime happens everywhere, as do burger chains. You have to live in the US to know what's there. Can't go by a few Youtube videos and those that hate the US for their own agendas.
  7. The US has all worldwide food comparable and superior to the original countries where they're from, with a lot less chance of getting food poisoning than here, which is commonplace.
  8. The US has all cultures in one place. It's just cheaper here.
  9. Trees are there for a reason, and the Amazon was created for a reason. Look at how global warming has increased and a lot has to do with removing so many trees.
  10. No, you think you know more. Try reading that last link, as I know you didn't, before replying. Remember I said an open mind, not one blinded by boot licking hero worship. Facts and not opinions. Inflation has many factors, with very little to do with the president besides tariffs, which rise prices, ..............Seeing you didn't bother to read it, I'll post a few lines here.......... During the worst of the pandemic, prices started rising everywhere. Groceries, cars (both new and used), gasoline, housing. At one point, inflation reached 9.1%, the highest level since 1981, although it’s since cooled down. When things get more expensive, some want to blame the current presidential administration. Former president Donald Trump said both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were responsible for the record levels of inflation that consumers saw in recent years. But presidential policies did not drive the record inflation we saw during the pandemic, economists told Marketplace. “I think that people generally over attribute control over the macroeconomy to presidents,” said Tyler Schipper, an associate professor of economics at the University of St. Thomas. Supply chain issues had more of an effect on inflation than policies from either the Trump or Biden administration, Schipper said. There was pent-up demand as the economy reopened, while supply chains were “bogged down.” You also have to take into account geopolitical conflicts, like Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which led to higher wheat and gas prices. Both Biden and Trump signed COVID-19 relief packages that provided individuals, businesses and local and state governments with trillions of dollars in aid. That stimulus helped stoke demand and contributed to inflation, according to a study from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. But the St. Louis Fed said it also helped stave off “worse outcomes.” Hassan said it’s also unfair to blame the president for the level of inflation because prices rose around the world, and some countries had even worse inflation than the U.S. For example, inflation reached a peak of 11.1% in the U.K. and a peak of 10.6% in the European Union. There are some, limited ways that presidential administrations could implement policies that lead to price increases. If the economy is doing really well, tax cuts could drive up prices because people have more money to spend, Schipper said. And presidents can implement tariffs on goods, which can also lead to rising prices. U.S. consumers would end up having to pay for those tariffs. U.S. importers have to pay import taxes (i.e. the tariffs) to the U.S. government, and to compensate for that lost money, they’ll either eat the costs or pass them along to you in the form of high prices.......................................Like I said, time will tell.
  11. Yes, but trees are a lot more important than cows, and there are many places where cows can be raised without the need to cut down acres of trees daily.
  12. Reading up with an open mind instead of bowing down to a person with known issues is the best way to see whats the truth and what's biased towards one side.............https://www.marketplace.org/story/2024/11/05/heres-why-you-cant-blame-presidents-for-inflation
  13. Actually I do. I don't lean to one side and I'm not blinded by hero worship. I've watched presidents and what they did or didn't do since Kennedy, and it's always been much the same things. One side blaming the other, lies and biased opinions having many believe either way. I see things as they happen, from promises made and kept, to egos getting the best of those hired, to lies, coverups, Watergates, immoral presidents, and some of the best jobs done by presidents who many thought were weak.
  14. All types of Thai food is available in the US.
  15. Actually right on. Biden took on some of Trumps mistakes, along with mistakes from before Trump. Trump's doing the same things now, as all presidents do. Inflation has little to do with the president. You have to actually read things with an open mind before you judge. Hero worship has many blinded, like love for the Kardashians, Epstein, Bill Cosby, Babe Ruth, The Beatles or any other entertainers. Inflation fluctuates for a number of reasons, and the president isn't that involved. This is one reason inflation rose under Biden........... In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic recovery and the soaring gas prices after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, inflation rose to record levels not seen since the 1980s.
  16. America has some of the best food worldwide, with all foods from all countries in one place, which is the selling point. All of the ethnic restaurants have chefs either from other countries or had relatives that taught their skills to American chefs.
  17. I've had it a hundred times easy, in New Jersey, New York and Texas, and it all was just as good or better than here, mainly because the chefs were from here but had better health conditions in the states than here. My favorite two restaurants in San Antonio had people from Korat.
  18. Very small percentage. This explains most of it.............https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/111314/what-causes-inflation-and-does-anyone-gain-it.asp.
  19. I would think the main reason men are here is the younger aged women they can get with. The few women here maybe for business reasons. Take away the possibility of being with those younger women, what do you have? Cheaper lifestyle, yes, but would that keep those men here? The main reason men come here as tourists is the same. A sex capital with a lot of hot women, temporary pleasure with sometimes bad side effects. Thai food you can get just as good in most other countries. Temples also, although there's more here, all looking much the same besides the largest ones.
  20. And inflation doesn't just start when one president takes office, nor does it end for the same reasons. It's an ongoing problem with many factors, the least of which is who's president.
  21. Which is why accidents like this will continue to happen until those in charge are forced to do the intended job. There has to be care before there is change.
  22. Inflation has gone up and down all along, no matter who's president. Blaming one side isn't truth.
  23. Trees are indeed a renewable source for harvesting, like pine forests in the US. It's not renewable when they're cut down and replaced by cows, unless of course years later those areas are replanted in trees, but as we see daily in the Amazon, greed overpowers sense. Those cutting down the trees are looking for profit today, knowing they won't be here much longer, and to hell with what comes.
