  1. Looks a lot like the Pomelo or Oroblanco, which is a cross between the Pomelo and Marsh Grapefruit.
  2. As some of our world leaders have already shown.
  3. Exactly, you "felt" more unsafe because you heard of the violence that happened there, although you also hear it here, and it's 5 or more against 1 here a lot more often, so you should "feel" more unsafe here because of that alone. Feelings mean very little. Everyone has them every day and most mean nothing, as like all feelings, they usually pass soon and are replaced by reality. There are countless people who spend most of their time indoors and the only knowledge they have is from the media. Others, like myself, grew up on the streets and lived it daily, in big cities and the country, where we saw what went on a lot more than those who rarely went outside. I saw violence, but not very much involving more than 2 or three against one. That was usually a friend sticking up for another when someone went after them. As many have said, here it might start one against one, but the pack mentality, which is a cowardly approach, has 3,4,5 or more ganging up against the one, kicking them because they don't know how to hit with their hands, or are afraid they might break their hands on someone's face, instead of letting the 2 duke it out to see who wins. Although there are many more countries that are more unsafe than Thailand, like African, Central America and the Middle east, Thailand isn't a very safe for tourists to visit, as we've seen here more on a daily basis for the last decade or more................https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/30317678
  4. Can't recommend as I haven't been there, but a coffee lover, so you could try this one. Pasha Coffee Cocktail Lounge-290/51 Beach Road-Pattaya City-Bang lamung District Chon Buri. maybe others have tried it here. It has good reviews. Here's more also............https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurants-g293919-c10663-Pattaya_Chonburi_Province.html
  5. So that is how you interpreted the history you were taught in school?
  6. I don't make up anything. Drugs are available in every country, no matter how strict the policies, because people like to get high. You can look things up as it's rather easy...........https://www.cnb.gov.sg/newsandevents/drug-situation-reports/drug-report
  7. Read what he said again, then my reply.
  8. This is wrong and many actually believe it. We're not carnivores and need fiber to have a healthy GI system. Look at the stats on colon cancer and see what the people who have it eat. The oldest living people on earth come from the Blue Zones, and they eat carbs, root vegetables, seeds, nuts, beans, whole grains, fruits, along with moderate proteins. can't argue with success. You eat a varied diet and you don't need supplements, unless you have a deficiency like Vitamin D. Modern science hasn't proven anything as most of the people eating carnivore haven't been doing it for many years. Nutritional deficiencies come from just eating meat. It's okay short term but shouldn't be followed forever, unless you are adding carbs daily in some form. It can also lead to cardiovascular disease.
  9. Not a bad idea to be safe, as you never know what restaurant owners do in countries without frequent health inspections. I eat salads almost daily, but at home.
  10. Drugs have been used here for decades, and it isn't from foreigners, meaning other than Asian countries, bringing it in but next door neighbors, especially Myanmar, which has the highest rate of meth use and production.
  11. Actually Singapore does have a drug problem with young users, even though they have a zero tolerance. People who want to use drugs will.
  12. You're really against weed it seems, but don't really know much about it, as is the case of many who've never tried it. No one laces weed with hallucinogens, as they cost money, are are just sold as is.
  13. People here get food poisoning all the time, from many sources, and many die from it in the US and other countries. Hard to tell where you got it unless it's the only place you've eaten at for a couple of days. I was referring to the healthiness of the salad greens available on salad bars. Chicken, left out like it is here, is the highest cause.
  14. Salad greens are among the healthiest food available, and most are very low in calories, unless you pile on the salad dressing.
  15. And Trump has 4 years to prove what his power can do for the average man, and not just the rich. Many in the US are brainwashed by this man, following him no matter what he does, and that's not a smart idea. People on the outside, who aren't political, have seen what politics has done for the US as long as they've lived, and both sides need work.
  16. Ever look up how many KKK members the US has? Along with other hate groups? ..............https://www.statista.com/statistics/740008/us-hate-groups-by-type/
  17. Who on the left supports terrorists and criminals? No one I've ever known. The definition of leftist is this.......... Left wing politics Left-wing politics describes the range of political ideologies that support and seek to achieve social equality and egalitarianism, often in opposition to social hierarchy as a wholeor certain social hierarchies. Left-wing politics typically involve a concern for those in society whom its adherents perceive as disadvantaged relative to others as well as a belief that there are unjustified inequalities that need to be reduced or abolished, through radical means that change the nature of the society they are implemented in...................Seems like people who are concerned with others welfare, so the nonsense the other side spews has little to do with the ideas behind leftist politics. Remember, I take neither side and only hope the morons can someday work together.
  18. The first time I came here it was for Songkran, where I met my now ex wife. I was 62 then and they had me soaked din a few minutes. I expected it so was fine with it. If you don't want to get wet, you have to stay in your car until you get to where you're going, hopefully not a place with revelers lined up.
  19. Not only a Thai thing, but in all my years, personally, living in big and small cities and the country, I have never witnessed this kind of unfair fighting, and neither has anyone else I've talk to this about. It happens more in a society where children are dismissed by parents and sent to grandma to live, while the "parent" feels they have to work in a far away city and send a little money back now and then, seeing the kids a couple times a year. This is because it's mostly single mothers, as the boys aren't being held responsible for the children they make by the court system, and Thailand leads the free world with children raised by grandparents, a full one third, while Laos next door has around 3% .This is full and not part time while parents are working and coming home to their kids daily.
  20. Lot's of tough people die every year from upper respiratory problems. And no matter how tough you are, you will soon enough be humbled and find out what t feels like to be older. I was the strongest natural man in most of the gyms I was in, but now my knees tell me I'm older, along with a hip and shoulder pain I never had ever. No matter what you do, father time finds you. Try listening to this classic Kansas tune and see what I mean........... .
  21. Yes, sometimes 2 will gang up on one and I've seen it a few times, but they aren't kicking them on the ground and in the head. Gangs are different. They will trash someone from another gang and even kill but this is one man. No matter what he did, you don't need 10 against 1 unless you are a group of undisciplined cowards. This is a Thai thing unless someone else here can say otherwise.
  22. Never being taught respect for life as a child. Absent or abusive parent(s), and a following of like minded peers. Cowards need numbers, and the only way to stop this is jail for a long time. 10 against 1 is more than the usual, but someone kicking is a boy who doesn't know how to fight and needs friends to back them up because they would be flattened if it was one on one.
  23. No expat is licking any Thai boots here besides those who act like Brown Nosers, thinking that will bring them favor. Why are you bothering being in a Thai forum if you live back in Canada? To gloat for some reason? Some of us are going to leave Thailand soon enough, and would not return to the forum as it doesn't concern them Some will stay because they like it here and are satisfied with the country. Every country has it's share of problems, some more than others, and to each their own. Canada is a beautiful place I'd like to return to for hunting and fishing, but being cold half the year isn't fun. Now that you're back, you have a chance to be an old fart in Canada on one of their forums, so you can relate. We are all just prisoners here of our own device.
  24. "I remember in the in Australia a toddler running away down towards the busy road , a elderly woman sees me she shouts stop the baby ! I shout no way I don't want to get involved ! " You actually said this, and did nothing? Says a lot about your character.
  25. You can do the best job possible and your child will go into the world surrounded by protection and love, but once they have peers, they can be led astray, into danger, or used by others who were raised to be predators. This country already looks at women as inferior, as does a few others, and that thinking has them being targets for any piece of garbage that comes along, disguised in a cute face and slim body, and lines of BS.
