But the question isn't really about medals or superiority in sports, which is still individual or team based, at least for a particular year. It's about are we really better in the eyes of Thais. This means little , as prejudice and money are involved, and that throws logic out the window anyway. Some locals hate all foreigners. Some tolerate them, and some like them, besides the actions of a few which makes a certain nationality look bad to some who are plainly close minded. You can't measure medals won per million because these are individuals that are the best (known) in a particular sport. Most of the population cannot win medals in anything anyway, so the amount of people doesn't matter. Again, I'm American but fully understand the US is all countries together, and not a separate entity like Germany, Spain, France etc.
-
An adult usually doesn't resort to generalizations about any one race or nationality, because common sense shows this is an impossible thing to do without knowing all about everyone involved. The US wins more medals but that doesn't mean all US people are better in any way than anyone else. The same goes for all countries. The US is a melting pot of all countries so being prejudiced against it means you're prejudiced against your own people, because of the former. No race or nationality is superior to any other. People are better in sports than others, but that's also an individual thing, The US has better regular football players than all other countries, but that's because other countries aren't as involved in the sport. Baseball is a US pastime, but some Japanese players have proven to be top of the line as far as talent for the game. If you're talking about people in general, no one is any better than anyone else, besides in individual ways. Some just act better than others, which doesn't mean they are better people, but they might act better socially. Prejudice sure rears it's ugly head here, and that shows inferiority as a person.

Thai Girl Rescued After Shocking Family Abuse Revealed

A father who sticks up for his father and uncle's predator ways isn't a father and shouldn't be allowed to be around his daughter without supervision. This is the lowest of animals that live here, and both perpetrators should be jailed for years to come. Hopefully the girl has other relatives that can care for her.- 12 replies

Why Do Thai Girls Love Getting Tattoos?
fredwiggy replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
The same with all my kids besides the 8 year old. They all have at least one,all are above average in IQ, and most have more, and my dad had one from the military, and his IQ was well into genius level, so that theory doesn't fly.Like most everything else that's accepted in the world today, people who get them think it's okay because so many others do. -
Some people, by body chemistry, attract insects faster and more than others. The same with me. Flies here try to fly straight into my eyes or nose, while a person next to me isn't bothered at all. I have gotten a few here to actually use fly swatters, as they didn't before, as they saw me and them also, have insects fly to them directly. It doesn't matter how clean you are, as they can attack right after you leave the shower. The only thing that does work is Deet or Off, which I really don\t like using but need to when cutting the grass because even in the sun the flies will find me.

Quite a few of us are into music so much we don't feel the need to follow others opinions on the subject. All one needs to do is look at the list of bands that make it to the hall of fame and those that still haven't and you'll see that some really don't understand what makes good music and only what's popular with the younger crowd.Just seeing Mark Knopfler, who's definitely in the top 3, as number 44 shows just how little some know.
-
I've heard all of his music many years before. He was a decent player but not in the top 10. Radio stations play the same songs all the time, and no one wants to hear the same songs all the time, especially older people like us that have heard them too many times already. This is one reason myself and many others don't listen to radio stations.
-
Radio stations play what they consider popular, mainly to younger listeners, and have overplayed songs for decades, while there are thousands of better songs that never get played. I lived in the San Antonio, Texas area in 1978-79, before moving back there again in 1985. Joe Anthony, called the Godfather of rock, was one of the very few dj's who played different bands, like Triumph, Budgie, Heyoka and others, who you would rarely if ever hear anywhere else, besides a few hit singles. He understood that listeners knew there was more than just one song on albums, and many of them were better than the hit singles. Beck, while an excellent guitarist, didn't make much in the way of hit singles besides Freeway Jam, because most of what the younger crowd likes has lyrics, lyrics they can relate to, which make it that hit single. Just like a lot of the pop crapola that millions listen to now. Much of it isn't good music but it has a beat they can move to. People like Mark Knopfler, who is one of the top 10 players of all time, only get heard because of Dire Straits, although his solo collection is just as good. Hendrix was an innovator, a decent guitarist but not in the top 10. He had feeling when he played, and it didn't take a person being stoned to like his music. The same with Page. He was in a popular band that played songs people loved, and he was a decent player, but again not in the top 10. People like Gilmour, Barrett, Campbell, Beck, Bonamassa, Santana, Schenker, Howe, Schon, Haynes, Trucks, Metheny, Gale, DiMeola, and a few others are more suitable for being in the top 10. You will rarely if ever hear the best music on the radio. There are countless progressive rock bands, which is some of the best music out there, played on the radio, besides older Genesis because Collins wrote some pop songs that went along with the others on their albums. A good song weathers the time well, and drugs have nothing to do with it besides the songs sounding better when you're buzzed.

He needs help no matter where he can get it, immediately. Mental illness runs rampant here as well as everywhere else, and it isn't something that's localized as far as treatment. They aren't "nutters" as one ill informed person put it, but suffering from an illness out of their control. People commit suicide daily all over Thailand, and location has nothing to do with it.

Why Do So Many Foreign Men Still Marry Short-Time Girls?
fredwiggy replied to JK-Trilly's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Manipulation is as tool used by most, but when it's used all the time, there are reasons for it..............While most people occasionally engage in manipulative behavior, a chronic pattern of manipulation can be a symptom of an underlying mental health condition... Personality disorders Manipulation is common in people with personality disorders like borderline personality disorder (BPD) and narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). People with BPD may use manipulation to meet emotional needs or get validation, while people with NPD may use it to keep partners in relationships. Other mental health conditions Manipulation can also be a symptom of other mental health conditions, such as substance use disorders and bipolar disorder. History of abuse Experiencing abuse can make someone feel unsafe communicating their needs directly, which can lead to manipulative behaviors. Manipulation is a dishonest form of social influence that's used to get someone to do what you want. Some tactics that manipulators use include:...Isolation: Isolating you from friends and family to separate you from people who might notice the manipulation . Playing the victim: Using martyrdom to guilt-trip you Devaluing and gaslighting: Making you feel guilty or confused to make you doubt yourself .Fear or violence: Threatening to leave you, hurt you, or hurt themselves to keep you under their control : -
Why Do So Many Foreign Men Still Marry Short-Time Girls?
fredwiggy replied to JK-Trilly's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Having the amount of partners you speak of doesn't coincide with sanity. Most women , meaning the average woman, only has 3-7 in a lifetime. Having as many as you say shows how a woman sees a man. That he's not special but just another number. A prostitutes heart is already hardened by the time she is either forced, coerced or manipulated into the trade. Even those that are in it because of past familiar abuse and or neglect have had an uphill battle in their minds all along. This doesn't factor into a normal adult one on one relationship in any way. Yes, of course we hear stories of how one married a bar girl that's been with multitudes and it's all fine, but we don't live with them and see the real picture of what goes on day to day. A prostitute looks at men as a means to get by to the next day, and not as a long term, emotional connection. This is about money. Yes, there are those that think all women are in the game for money, but it's to be provided for and it's not the same as doing things because you're getting cash. And a lot of women make their own money and contribute to the family pool, as a team. The amount of marriages that fail is high, mainly because people lack the ability to trust and give themselves up 100% to their partner, and having their partner do the same. Also because one or the other, or both, are tainted with baggage from their childhoods, and can't relate to their partner as an adult should. No guarantees in any marriage unless both are willing to make sacrifices and understand that things do go wrong in all marriages. The difference between a normal marriage and one with a bar girl are huge, It all starts at home. How they were treated at home, especially by their dads. If you start a relationship looking at what you can get from the other, it's already doomed to fail. -
Health officials suspended after video of fatal restraint emerges

If you haven't the skill to properly restrain someone, example here and also as a police officer or bouncer, you have no business working those positions. The hospital is liable here and the workers should be jailed. Hitting and punching isn't restraining. It's an ego gone astray. -

It has nothing to do with nanny thinking but care and common sense. If you're going to have children, you make sure you can provide a safe haven for them. No excuses for not wearing a helmet whatsoever. If you can afford a scooter, and kids, you can afford a helmet. -

They do, buy not having a baby on a scooter is the smarter idea. They have no business on scooters in any event, and anyone who does this cares little for their welfare. This behavior will continue forever until someone in power loses a relative. Life simply doesn't mean much here. -

Mother Finds 16 Year-Old Daughter Allegedly Working at Bar in Pattaya
fredwiggy replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Children run away from home by the thousands every year, in every country. Reasons for this are many. Some are being abused, molested or raped by family members. Some are being neglected, where mom and or dad don't want to be involved in their lives when they really need it, being teenage years, especially from the dad, who is her first role model, and how his relationship with her goes, is what she looks to in her future. If he's a loving, caring dad, she will look for that in partners. If he's distant, abusive and or neglectful, that will be normal for her and she will likely end up with more of the same. And if mom is also distant, she has to learn how to be a woman from peers, and they know very little themselves, and find out quick what the outside world is all about. If a household has two loving, caring parents, a girl is more likely to stay until she is ready for work or college, being supported by her parents until she is independent. That's the best scenario. There is also the rebellious teen, who has friends who are i broken homes, and this peer pressure might lead her astray, so she's with boys while she's too young, drinking or drugs. This is the one who's likely to run away more, looking for her own way, and finding hell along the way, because there are many predators looking for her at the same time. -
Trying to tell another narcissist what to do is futile unless they can gain from it. Borders will never be shut down as the rich will always hire illegals until they are punished for it, and migrants only come in legally to work. I doubt prices will come down anytime soon. Letting men compete in woman's sports might stop in the US but elsewhere? What we do to Iran is based on what they do to us or our allies, and I see it coming no matter who's in charge. Like I said, time will tell.
