  1. What we think about the validity of these polls is irrelevant. What's relevant is what the maker of the poll thinks about it. And he seems to talk with at least two tongues.
  2. Me and a couple of friends were politely asked to leave during a Bolt ride within Pattaya as the driver just picked up a fare to Swampy so it's definitively something that's done. The driver was very apologetic and quickly ordered another ride for us so while not ideal no one threw a fissy fit.
  3. Elon Musk may restrict who can vote in some Twitter polls after users say he should step down "Hours after Twitter voters said he should step down from leading the company, Elon Musk late Monday indicated he would restrict who could vote in policy-related Twitter polls. Responding Monday to a tweet that said “Blue subscribers should be the only ones that can vote in policy related polls. Musk replied: “Good point, Twitter will make that change.”" Wow, what a champion of free speech he turns out to be.....
  4. As a City fan things are pretty good these days and I enjoy the EPL every week, and not being anywhere near a fanatical supporter I can enjoy the great football played by other clubs as well. I've really enjoyed watching Arsenal and their young and vastly talented team and Newcastle's resurgence is also quite astounding. Granted, they've gotten tons of money but that doesn't always translate into success on the pitch so huge kudos to the job Eddie Howe is doing. I've also turned into an FPL (Fantasy premier League) nerd so that adds another layer of enjoyment to it.
  5. ‘Time to end this nightmare’: Analyst Dan Ives says Elon Musk will likely step down from Twitter as company is on track to lose roughly $4 billion "Wedbush tech analyst Dan Ives believes the acquisition was the “most overpaid” in the history of the tech space, and he argues Musk is using Tesla to fund what could be $4 billion per year of “red ink” at Twitter. But he said on Monday that there may be hope for the EV leader yet as Musk, who recently lost his title as the world’s richest person, will likely step down as Twitter’s CEO after a new Twitter poll he put out Sunday."
  6. Actually, the EPL starts up again on the 26th, or 'Boxing Day' as my Brit friends call it. So fear not mate, football is only days away!
  7. Elon Musk is conspicuously quiet after Twitter users vote for him to step down amid chaotic policy changes "Given Musk’s propensity for tweeting, and his rapid decisions after previous polls, many expected he would have addressed the elephant in the room by now. But he has not. In fact, Musk spent most of Monday conspicuously quiet, refraining from tweeting for a remarkable 18-hour period." To paraphrase the saying Musk quoted; Be careful what you poll for, the result might not be what you wanted.
  8. Good comparison. Brexit and Musks involvement with Twitter are both disasters of epic proportions (though in scale nothing can of course compare to Brexit).
  9. I'll take that as a "So sorry, not able to back up any of my claims" then. Gotcha.
  10. Imagine Snoop walking into Twitter HQ, not with a kitchen sink in his arms, but with a huge bag of weed, contentedly puffing on a monstrous spliff! He then proceeds to perma-ban trump, the pillow guy and the rest of the sorry band of MAGA trolls that need a good kick in the posterity. MAGA meltdown of the ages follows.
  11. I think he bought it because of a ridiculously inflated ego, an ego that's taken a proper beating. Booed off stage, massively criticized, not least by some of his biggest investors, huge advertiser drain. He's finally realized what a massive doodoo the whole Twitter debacle has become and he's now running for the door, tail between his legs. Pathetic.
  12. One thing we have found out after this train wreck of an acquisition took place is that Musk is very good at flip-flopping. Twitter announces, then quickly retracts ban on promoting other social media
  13. I'll do that as soon as you supply proof of just a couple of claims that you've recently made: https://aseannow.com/topic/1280445-elon-musk-booed-off-stage-at-a-dave-chappelle-show/page/4/#comment-17785145 https://aseannow.com/topic/1280564-desantis-calls-for-florida-grand-jury-to-investigate-coronavirus-vaccine-wrongdoing/#comment-17784995
  14. Where a few see a sense of humor most see a moron embarrassing himself further.
  15. Apparently to attract all his haters to Twitter so they can vote. That means one of two things; he either wants to lose the vote or he has the emotional maturity of a petulant child (now who does that remind me of????). Either option should worry investors in his companies.
  16. Sad story for the fanboys. The 'crazy stalker' Elon Musk said was following 'assassination coordinates' in Los Angeles was an Uber Eats driver with an interest in Grimes, WaPo reports "The man who allegedly confronted a car carrying Elon Musk's son was an Uber Eats driver who believed he was connected to the billionaire's ex-girlfriend, Grimes, according to The Washington Post, but police say they have found no evidence so far to support the idea the incident occurred as a result of accounts that track Musk's private jet. On Wednesday, Musk tweeted a video that showed one of his security guards moving toward a man in a vehicle and filming the license plate of the man's car. Musk claimed the man in the car had blocked and jumped onto the hood of a car carrying his son, X Æ A-Xii." PS. When you name your child that you're a complete [deleted], no ifs or buts about it.
  17. By getting involved with Twitter and idiotically managing to paint himself into a corner resulting in the forced takeover he's stepped in it big time and he knows this full well. This is his lame attempt at extracting himself from the daily running of Twitter so that less of the blame falls on him when it tanks.
  18. Flushing out anti-semites? OK, genius move*. What other reasons would make this a "genius move"? *Irony alert
  19. I did the first report after returning to Thailand online so that doesn't seem to be an issue. Is @ubonjoe or any of the other experts able to shed some light on this issue?
  20. You always get the make, model, colour and license plate number of the car/motorbike when the ride is confirmed so that's never been an issue for me.
  21. Googled it and it looks like they only operate in Pukhet.
  22. Elon Musk Suspends Washington Post’s Taylor Lorenz From Twitter After She Asked Him for Comment on a Story "Washington Post tech columnist Taylor Lorenz said her Twitter account was suspended Saturday after she tweeted a request for comment at Elon Musk, the tech mogul who is the social network’s new owner, on a story she was working on. “Super crazy, Elon seems to banning anyone who disagrees with him,” Lorenz said in a TikTok video she shared Saturday evening. Musk has not publicly commented on Twitter’s suspension of Lorenz and there was no response to a request for comment Variety emailed to Twitter’s PR mailbox." Either Muskie is having a bit of a meltdown or his definition of free speech is more aligned with Putin, Xi and Kim. Or maybe a bit of both as the financial ramifications of this rotten deal properly sink in. As we now can see delusions of grandeur can be costly, especially if you're super rich.
  23. If you can find anything "winnable" about trump these days then I applaud and envy your sunny outlook on life. Life must be good in Bangrak!????
  24. Maybe some other posters can confirm/correct what I wrote about first reporting as I'm not an expert.
