They lost the reputation of being cheap 4 years ago already, not that that is gonna help them, the opposite in fact. Vietnam is not complaining of the tourist dollars that moved in that direction, neither does Bali complain about the loads of digital nomads who now spend 2K usd average per month there.

Looking for good cheap restaurant for daily meals
ChaiyaTH replied to khman's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Expect 60-80-100 baht to be the new normal, over the next 10 years. I consider a meal to be 100 average if having a budget place and also taking a fruit shake or water. -
That seems like a very dodgy and non official website and the IP being hosted in Marocco. In this case the setup could be that they either hacked lazada seller accounts or also pretend to be official sellers while then abusing it doing phising. You should contact the payment provider or processor they used to get them stopped I guess, then there is a chance you still see money back too.

Had to book 4 flights in totals for a stop by in Bangkok and another destination + returns. Booked with 3 different airlines, noticed with all the average price being higher too than usual. It always seems so innocent when 900-1200 was before and it changes to 1400-1800 average but it really adds up. Regardless, many of the travellers that came here are hard working people with not too much of a budget. That was kind of killed by the exchange rate as well rising prices locally already but now with those fares + dealing with higher costs back home, I could see they simply can't visit even they wanted too. I would personally just take a high speed train within europe and chill in the south of europe having still very cheap food and wine until things cleared up. Or go to mexico or something as an american. At least you could walk home if it became that bad in those cases.

Truemove works like a charm for me in Chiang Mai and Bangkok but always been a hell in Pattaya or down south. In that case AIS is usually the one doing well. If you have a yearly visa and lease contract should be able to get a post-paid plan, much easier to pay via the app each month as well to change packages. The prepaid packages always causes me issues.

But yeah, if it is legal, you can make quite a decent honest living here growing it, if you have a market to sell to. I believe selling it would still be illegal too as a foreigner right, they don't like competition too much.
-
If one wanna do and risk that with indoor plants on a large scale, as it seems to be legal so far, that is one issue less. Does not change all the other points and upfront financing costs regardless. So then people would borrow and pay insane interest rates to do such business. I do not see it happening soon, it just remains small to medium growers, limited high quality as 98% are newbie growers = current market prices. You will just get this just average indoor weed for 300 more standard perhaps. 150 will be mom and pop stores lol.

That is an outdoor plant and those can get much bigger, that also would be a mother plant meaning from the original seed and not a clone. That is completely different than growing indoors, as well for how much grams you would harvest. However you are not going to get that creme de la creme weed the topic starter was talking about, that is indoor work really. Also as far I know you need to register with the app / website and the limit is 6 plants (hence my example with indoors usually being 6 plants per square meter, due to having lights, air filters etc, they do not get that big. You could maybe have 600 watt of traditional light in a square meter tent, you would get 0.5 grams per watt if you are a medium experienced grower. So 300 grams per harvest would be very decent.

You don't see the bigger picture, if you commercially sell you have to go above the legal amount of plants. You would typically have like 6 plants per square meter, which is nothing much at all, you need at least 10-20-50x that amount. Aside of risks of lost harvest and more. As well more electric usage and renting a place to do it, running it etc. All of this needs to be financed upfront as well obviously, for up to 2 harvest and dry+cure = 6-8 months. Then you have those who do do it as a hobby and within the legal limits (or a bit above, or placed at several houses), and they want to get good value for their weed = the current market prices. It is very similar in Netherlands, and yes there too, if you would have your own little tent with the 5-6 plants + run the summers outdoors, the cost price is drastically lower and selling to friends price typically half of market prices. I do get the point you would say 150, if you would assume the Thai to be a productive worker and be happy with still getting an average of 500-1000 per day in returns if succeeding, while having a very lazy work (they should love that). But actually many friend to friend sellers also do so, it's just a small quantity per harvest so small circles.

Quality buds simply easily cost that money. You need expensive seeds imported, indoor growing means electricity cost, more time to dry but also cure as that is what makes or breaks a proper bud and harvest. Sure maybe 1K is a bit overly for weed but 700-800 for a proper one certainly is not. If you want something in between quality, a price of 500 baht would be very reasonable. I personally just smoke pure now from Thai stick, nowadays that can be gotten from as little as 50 baht per gram too, there is good and bad. If the market really becomes competitive over time and it is not just a initial hype only, I could see reasonable quality weed coming on the market for 200-300 per gram easily.

Doubt its even about being scared for covid and much more for hiding their faces and enjoying being anonymous. They are quite anti-social nowadays (specially in the big city like BKK). Many likely even see the benefit of avoiding sun tans too, as of the white skin obsession. Obviously the old people might still fear it, but they fear anything that isn't traditional and 200 years old.

Thailand officially drops mask mandate in late night Royal Gazette order

First 100 blowjobs tax free, after 5% for the first 100-150 blowjobs and 10% for 150 and above. -
From my experience it is usually really never about the difference of only 10-20 baht with a dish, what it really is about is that you could see more and more businesses being taken over to fake some hyper modern first world style, and then charge 120 baht for a coffee that used to be 40. As a result, many of those decent priced shops also have died of more and more. Anyway, today we have the inflation issue on top of that and the fact that many cheaper stalls remained closed, as there isn't enough tourism yet. I guess it is a matter of time we both see better exchange rates as well more budget options again, Thais will need it and a entrepreneur can still make a good profit offering decent prices food or drinks. Even with chicken now being 100 baht per kilo, you can still easily take 10 portions of pad thai out of that, make it 15 more for the other ingredients and they make a profit of 25 when selling for 50. That is a fat margin with often a high quantity of sales per day. TBH, I think they even get 15-20 portions out of 1KG chicken, and sell for 40 each. I mean some here name examples of people who budget on 500 quid, well, even they retired back then with 2000 quid, which should been enough and is the average already, and that isn't sufficient today for a decent family life here with 1 child (well it might just be enough, if you already got savings for later done separated). It is the Thais who will pay the hardcore price instead, they lived way above their means and now it's crashing down.

I know many good ones too, wouldn't mean I take them to be my life partner. My former weed dealer is very nice too, but i would not trust him in my house. Good or bad aside, I like them younger than 50-60. Better to be single in the land of the smiles.
-
Because they are bar girls.
-
Sure most of them nowadays do not look good at all, overweight being the main factor. At the same time there were so many bars prior to covid, at it's peak, I could imagine that also plays a big role. If there would be less bars, but good running again, you could automatically also see the prettier ones in a dense area. Now they are spread around, usually also fined early on the evenings already. TBH, it got so boring to me, I now spend the money on more expensive food, drinks and the like for myself instead. Just when I really need it only.

You should not keep them to that age in the first place...
