Instore bakery Big C not making bread
ChaiyaTH replied to Chongalulu's topic in Western Food in Thailand
Barely and most of that goes to Africa as well. -
Like having a contract in Thailand is worth anything, that is just between your ears. Even it is signed, and even you started already, they still fire you whenever they please.

"Stubborn" child, 11, was chained up and whipped by grandparents in NE
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Are you kidding, they would get away with it way too easily. Let them rot in prison and hope they develop kidney stones without treatment. -
LOL why would one still buy anti virus software + on CD. This is like going back in time a decade. You can just purchase it online, download it, install it and be done.

And that is supposed to be the 'art teacher'. Feel sorry for the majority of kids, no wonder they behave how they do as young adults.

Vietnamese mother and daughter drown in sea off Phuket
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Seems the rate of people dying in Phuket is higher than new borns since they reopened. -
What they expect, it is the main station for Pattaya, you might as well bulldoze the entire soi's and beachfront, it's all dirty there. Same with Jomtien, looks like a ghetto. To go there for some hardcore holiday parties and fun yes, but to live there, one must lack creativity or just frequent bar girls all the time, else it's crazy to stay living there.

The police is so desperate as they do control all late-night alcohol related venues. They are begging for this as they then will not prevent us smoking it for health concerns, no, they will start to milk it out with brown enveloppes and bribes to us instead. Not seeing this happen anytime soon, at best the police can extort businesses selling joints for a fee.

No injuries after Nok Air 737-800 slides off Thai runway
ChaiyaTH replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Chiang Rai
When you slide off a runway but got away without any injuries but are more hyped up about the fact you were not offered a snack and water in time. 2022. Anyway, this is why you are supposed to keep your seatbelts on. -

Malaysia Detains Thais Who Tested Positive For Marijuana
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Good to know I won't be using that border, never did either anyway. The last time I left from Chiang Mai on a domestic flight they swabbed my carry-on bag for that drug machine tester, never happened in my entire life here 10 years long. -
FTI Says Foreign Land Ownership will Stimulate Economy
ChaiyaTH replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It will not support economy at all, it will just make specific areas and places even more over priced at best. And get more ugly projects that are left empty or poor maintained after 5-10 years. If they would let everyone buy 1 rai of land, things really going to be nasty with investors using nominees too. Why not limit it to people who worked and paid taxes at least 4 years, been married 4 years and/or have a child in Thailand. Or retirees who been here 4 years too. -
There is no need to pay them lunch money in the first place, but yeah, stupid to then package it as such for 500B too, just add it to the wage or leave it out entirely. You have to be a hardcore boss here, pay them poorly but at the same time reward them with penny stuff like a free dinner, KTV one night. Being nice is a weakness as a boss, you ben nice socially, not business wise.

It happens from low paid jobs to decent office jobs with 30-50K baht salaries all the time, Thais are to blame in this and no excuses are possible. Not to say it is that much better with nearby countries though. Earn the money abroad, spend it here is the rule. Or accept reality; no need to pay them better, just offer them social rewards like a dinner party at the end of the month, or KTV. Keep them poor, else you are sponsoring them to save money up and leave too. This is thailand right.

Not sure what the 'junta hoops' mean either, there is no real issue at all. You can easily make things work within the options available, even as a visa runner. This has always been the same in the past already too, the only real change there is they now sometimes complain + the limitation of 2 border runs a year. The real reason is purely the costs, it is way cheaper in Vietnam, before covid you could see the big crowds we used to have in khao san, but now in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. For digital nomads, they do left due to the hassle, and frequent Bali and Vietnam instead. Then we have the retirees, anyway, still putting all those people together, they are small numbers in terms of 'arrivals per year'. Their spending might be good but that is not the subject if talking about tourist numbers. The reason tourists stay away is due to my points / comment above. In Vietnam you get 10 beers at 5 dollars, a room for 5 dollars more. In Thailand you lost 15 dollars just to take a minivan ferry combo to the Islands. That is a lot on the theoretical 1000 baht a day budget of backpackers (assuming the old 30-33 baht per usd forex).
