  1. Exact what I do since recent times, just as a in between and let's see what really will happen. She gets a good gift and that covers now her allowance, my son, school costs, rent, utilities. I just keep sending a small part for myself, worst case I'm good to pay over that. Otherwise spending at a minimum, no purchases, no extra money into Thailand etc etc. Had a buffet setup prior to 2024 starting as well.
  2. Is no perhaps about this at all, you just have no idea at all how things work clearly. Wether someone is liable for tax is one subject but the only person being liable for it, is the end receiver, not the sender. So the fact that you send it a brokerage send it or jesus send it, doesn't matter at all. Unless you of course send it to yourself but in that case it is not gifting nor paying/sending to a third party (person). Also if a broker sends money, they still do that in your name legally / tax wise, even it comes from their bank. If you instead want to talk about someone who before giftig it to their wife, still had to pay profit taxes in the origin country where it was made, or some personal income taxes over there, that is also a complete different subject as well not related to Thailand itself.
  3. That's why many of those tourist are going to Vietnam since years already... Even Thais start going there for it + sea food + even shopping of clothes etc. Meanwhile business owners are actually workers of landlords.
  4. In the business of taxes that is actually your problem and responsibility. That's the entire issue in the global landscape of rapidly changing tax and VAT rules too, it's hard to keep up as a individual or SME. Same as they can still get back to you for 5 year history in 5 years from now.
  5. LOL wtf 500 baht fine and 5000 baht compensation, how did he get away that cheap. Just a 50 baht difference to define it a real joke.
  6. As always just wait and see what happens. That email I got from kasikorn demanding I would sign some documents, I ignored, and all still works perfectly fine.
  7. LMAO so half of the daily posters here not even live here. That explains so much too lol.
  8. As far I know the nr 1 divorce reason in the west is as much due to finance issues as it is here so knowing that, the only difference is what each person accepts for their life standards, nuff said. It is not that long ago, just like 2 decades, that in the west most often the male would also earn 70-100% income. That they scammed everyone in the process and then let everyone focus on being equal is the real joke. It's not that different materialistic either, you used to fix your pants until it was really done and now you get a new one if there is just a tiny stain on it.
  9. It's an expat / foreigner forum, I guess you really don't get it so never mind.
  10. The idiots are saying this what, every quarter since 2014? Then they made visa's hard to support that idiotic idea, to then now have flooded the country with broke idiots on 5 year DTV visa's while they make it hard for genuine people that lived here a decade plus. I am so disgusted by it that I am just feeling bad to spend money here. They deserve misery.
  11. Ehh if my memory serves me right they have repeated this crap statement since the military coup in 2014. With like zero results today.
  12. Thailand and luxury: we increased the price 10X and now it is a luxury place, otherwise we give you the same crap. Guess they have to figure out the difference between expensive and luxury.
  13. Thailand can't offer luxury, they can't even do basic service properly in any place here. Even at fine dining restaurants it's a joke, like you see someone 'trying to do good' as if it is some new intern back home. If my monthly income only increases enough, I would actually move to another country to get that and many other things on a higher level in my life. Let alone if I would be rich, why would I even bother going here.
  14. Yeah someone is trying to create chaos again clearly.
  15. What are you even trying to say? That is foreign news, they also kill dozens of people daily in 30 other countries. This is a local thing and when a foreigner kills someone on a bike, that is simply news. He <deleted> himself up big time by getting a photo on his knees, now it got media attention big time. If he did not do that or that photo would not been made, people already had forgotten by now.
  16. Got intel that he is needing to pay a lot of moneys to settle. If not jail.
  17. It is, a lot of names make no sense and there is no in depth information about each one either. I have visited the National archives in Netherlands several times, not only the one in the hague but also the one in the north, was part of my studies at the time. Knowing who I am today, if I lived at that time, high chance i would be on it myself too, if that would have given me food and I would have had no other options.
  18. This will settle for money at the end... RIP.
  19. Yeah because it is an extra ordinary amount that is locked unless you change the default security setting. So you did not allow yourself to pay the bill and now play the idiot blame game. If that same card had been stolen and someone took out 170K in one go transfer, you would have cried the other way around.
  20. I doubt this list can be accurate, Spain has average incomes half of what it states for the Pension to be. In terms of pensions in Netherlands is about what you made, it can be zero. Social welfare from 67+ would depend single or couple and is around 800-1200. Most simply depends on actual pension you did or did not build up during career + paid off house / savings. In average proper done scenario's the Swiss figure is then the same for Netherlands, Germany etc etc too. A quick check says that Spain is anywhere from 650-1200 euro average. Gotta hate all these fake lists and data, same as with Americans where some people earn like 100-150K a year but nobody mentions the part they also have fixed costs for like 100-150K a year, to have a same life as a state where it is 50-60K a year.
  21. I figured the secret is to switch multiple times per year between the south and the north of Thailand. It is just a bit difficult to do that when you have a family with kids going to school or you are older etc. You can almost entirely avoid the pollution seasons, the wet hot seasons, the raining seasons etc. For example the past months and still now the north is absolute perfect while Samui etc has rain / flooding. Soon pollution starts here followed by hot weather while it then is quite perfect down there / has a breeze. After when it gets super hot down there, it is kind of nice in between again up north. After the real rain starts in north, the south is again better. When it starts south, the north is better again.
  22. I used to just smoke inside my own grow tent as it has the ventilator and filter in the first place to prevent weed smells. I likely would have done that too if I lived in a condo where others complain etc. It worked fine that way when it was illegal too. Is a win win situation anyway, you make your own quality clean weed too.
  23. Meaning UOB sucks and Bangkok Bank does great. BKK bank simply has logical standard limits by default which you can easily change yourself in a matter of minutes.
  24. Some of my European bank accounts already do this when I send over 2-2.5K euro at once I need to do a quick face scan. I think it works great and certainly don't mind it, it was more work to use these old school identifier machines.
  25. That is not how taxing works, you can still be considered an economic resident if you are not a tax resident anywhere else. Many europeans make the same mistake by all making a company in Dubai to then still go back home for many months a year, turns out they are considered at least part a economic resident and are taxed back now many years in history. The same will happen by those who ignore this significant Thai change. They already fine tune the laws now, and you will see this in coming years globally more: if you were a resident for the past 3 years out of 10 years, you remain taxable. France already implements it as a test. You have to focus on minimizing your taxes legally.
