  1. Best chance would simply be by going out a lot in Bangkok at the expat bars or other places where you get to talk. Then you usually will meet people who know already 1-2 people, and then from there you easily get to know people. There is usually always work awaiting to be done, due to the shortage in being able to find programmers.
  2. Seems you have no clue what you are talking about, he could easily make 4-5K USD a month just doing small gigs with Python, PHP and SQL, his main skills. I do the exact same thing and not even work fulltime.
  3. One wonders when they finally update anything about this, I mean people would suddenly all need accountants or tax numbers etc etc etc. Let alone the global taxes potentially, to keep us in the dark now since june 5th?
  4. Small or big fish is not relevant, they do not have to chase us, we will come to them for our visa's and when we arrive or depart regardless. And then it's a criminal thing to not have filed and paid the taxes too, resulting in still paying + a fine + potential jailtime + blacklist. It's very naive to think that way.
  5. That's the only thing that bothers me right now, and I have to enroll him end of this year too. We could live 6 months on and off but then how to do that with school. Only option reasonable so far seems to be doing homeschooling, but that will take even more time from me for sure, as I am pretty sure she will not do it properly. I think for myself and most people it eventually leads to just coming here for holidays if at all. One part in me says they will never do it anyway but at the same time they have done so many things nobody expected, this would not be that surprising anymore. I mean, they even stop giving people non-o single entry visa's if not having 400K in a Thai bank, which defeats the entire purpose of that visa for those who live abroad and visit 1-2 times a year for 2-3 months. They clearly been motivating us to leave since nearly a decade.
  6. You are aware that you are speaking about like nearly a year minimum wage, like western terms: 15-20K USD, if you say it is reasonable for Thailand? The court here assumes minimum wages, that is why many fines are considered a joke to us aka very low. Like child support by judge is only 3K a month at most. To have received 50,000 baht is actually a lot already I think.
  7. That's the main thing that Thailand offers yes, the rest is just classical things that are not extraordinary such as: beaches, mountains, temples, some basic water parks and general activities you have basically anywhere already, and they cost a lot most times. That is the entire reason they have been trying since 5 years to diversify the offerings here from TAT and Gov side. It is also clearly visible in guesthouses etc, there is way less offerings and flyers than there once were, or they simply not run at all during low season. To not start about that half is not maintained and old (zoo's, waterparks etc etc).
  8. I remember many years ago I was casually stopped in sukhumvit by 2 on a bike, I was drunk, they knew. So we basically ended up in a hot pot place, where I had to pay for, aside from a bottle of red label, which we all shared... I mean that was a great deal, it costed me like 2-3K only for DUI.
  9. You must have been living under a rock if you didn't see how everything in nightlife, activities and more has been in a heavy downtrend ever since 2019. No matter where you go, even nana or soi 6 in pattaya, it's not close to how it once was. And that is just one thing, I was talking other events. Everything here is just simple, same shopping streets, there is barely variety.
  10. That's not even that much more unusual, if you then take a Business man from that same Shanghai city, he could likely buy 6-10 floors, a small building. Now let alone if they form groups, which they do. It's peanuts for them to do.
  11. It's called survival if you live in a 20-40sqm shoebox with 2 people fulltime.
  12. Sounds to me the real issue here was that you started a court case for something insignificant, hence you were only rewarded with 50,000 out of 300,000 baht maximum compensation. So if it was a more proper reason, you likely would have been break-even on the costs, or even have made a small profit? Normally, as lawyers can vary in how much they cost, there is simply standard compensation fees. The lawyer is likely afraid that the judge will laugh at him for billing you so much, and he for that reason cant order the other person to pay for that.
  13. Yes it is like a sand clock: the bottom is smoking and the top is not smoking. Currently the top fills the bottom, but when the bottom is full, smoking is now dull, turning it around by not being a smoker would be fulfilling again. I seem to have some version where it takes less time when filling it up to the other side of it again though hehehe.
  14. It's more likely the other way around to be honest. Most people get an increased desire for actual sex with a partner, when not smoking after smoking a lot.
  15. Guess that makes sense, they were still far enough away for it to be nearer to KL than BKK, or near enough.
  16. Nothing wrong with being sober, I just always feel sad if someone leaves weed behind forever, while it might not been the cause. In your cause, I understood already its just a break, i have no opinion otherwise on how people smoke, not my life. have a good one.
  17. Well in a way, yes, many of these International sport groups that do events in another country every year, or just go to another country with all their people once a year, avoid Thailand as of the issues with regulations, they would need work permits for their own instructors, for the 1-2 weeks event or hire Thais that would be useless. Basically nobody here wants to organize anything, nor bring their own groups of travellers as a small travel company guide abroad, because you are always being hunted down like a jew during WW2, as soon you do anything commercial or appearing to be commercial. That's why Thailand became so super dull and boring too. Only a few big players can do this, for them it's no issue to obtain the paperwork or staff etc.
  18. Just buy some of the xtra small ones with their papers, if you didn't like it i pay you back.
  19. Just try purize activated charcoal filters with ceramic ends, they have glass too but that is not comparable at all, and you would not use that in a paper joint either. Me thinks you might do smoke too much in the early mornings lol.
  20. You are missing out on the good life then, try it with a coffee and a mixed hybrid joint.
  21. I am totally not into edibles, even I know I should, as you say smoking is not exactly good, that is also the only argument against weed IMHO. To take regular breaks as a daily smoker is important in my opinion, I didn't mention that part but I usually have a week break with just 1-2 small pure ones when visiting Vietnam every 3-4 months. Since I use Purize filters in my joints, I cough much less though, and the taste is better. I do mix with tobacco, love the taste.
  22. Hehe I always start with a joint and coffees with 4 hours work, then I do a work out with dumbells, then a shave and shower + breakfast lunch at once. After 2-4 hours more and done for the day, all this wil smoking, just not super strong. To me it is really like a medicine and mainly for the taste, i'd say i'm pretty much always at the same level of high 24/7. Id love building and painting some fences for money with a joint as long its not too hot yet in the early mornings.
