  1. New iPhone every 3-4 years and maybe replace a battery once to just get the 1.5 to 2 days battery life again the entire time I own it. Not always buying the latest model neither never more then the basic model, is like 20K baht only + 5K batteries / 4 years = 6.25K baht a year average for having always the best possible tech and experience within the most recent 2-3 models. Battery life alone is just killing it, with a power bank I last easily 4-5 days without needing to even plug somewhere, I work with it a lot / move a lot.
  2. Tven just to offer the full range network of destinations with BA is worth to have at least one flight on it. This is what I like a lot with Emirates, they can really bring you from one place to another hassle free.
  3. Completely retarded. Welcome to the future in Thailand: where we move forward with technology to go backwards.
  4. Not that different from bars and places that nowadays think to still get away with these 7/11 bread breakfasts, with a tiny 'glass' of orange juice and 'instant toilet' coffee. To then charge like 140-160 baht for the set as well lol. I guess the reason it works is that many oldie suckers still pay for it. Else it was already better for the same as it is in quite a few places.
  5. You mean the board room of directors for the flying club right?
  6. I lived there like 7-8 years ago for 1 year and came there again recently, I was shocked. Many of the streets are entirely clean, more plants and trees, tons of new developments, amazing quality new roads (i remember one being made when i lived there and that one today is still pristine asphalt). Then suddenly dozens of high rise buildings and condo's, the malls that used to have a limited amount of brands now also have things like H&M etc aside from luxury brands but also all gadgets or other stuff you could need. Then knowing the median age there is 26 as well, they started from not zero but minus a lot on top, I actually see potential and think it is actually pioneers who already lived there a while to believe in a longer term future, or people even doing that today. But yes, everyone knows there is also these typical streets where you see these typical end of the line characters but be real, this is like a few dozen you usually see in very specific streets or bars as well, while almost anything outside of that, which is a lot nowadays, has barely a sign of that typical stereotype. You find 10X as much in Pattaya alone. I actually even think about it multiple times a week, to go back there, just because it is also so much more relaxed with the visa and full work / business options. Even the airport they just have ipads nowadays, you scan your passport and can even pay by card, 2 mins later a QR sticker visa is done. Then at arrivals luggage they have huge touch screens where you can book a cheap taxi of choice direct too, like Thailand? where are you? Like technology of Dubai standards suddenly in PP airport.
  7. With all the electrocutions, I leave it to the 'professionals' (hired 5 electricien showed me papers and first 4 still messed up).
  8. Yeah there are some specific things they do get done quick but to be honest these are also always services and things that are simply possible to get done right away. Not to mention, that fastness is also the reason you see 100 cables hanging around, that's what makes the entire streets with the electric look so insane. In a way i'm surprised nobody started a business to locate and remove them, the amount of fiber cable would be worth quite a bit.
  9. Just go to one of the government offices may it be the amphur or more like a city hall for ministry of foreign affairs, whatever else, and you suddenly see actual volumes of people that make you finally believe you are in a city with a large population. Is like everything you would expect to be walking around in city centers, to sit in restaurants and coffee shops, is actually always there. It just shows you how extremely bureaucratic it is here. To not even start about in depth details surrounding that aka slowness, needing endless papers, corruption etc etc. I really realized once again like today, needing to go with 2 taxi's and 7 people to the amphur to finalize something, that this is just like a industry lol, it almost made me happy to see so many Thais at once doing something productive, which is rare lol. The same time you see all hustling happening and what else not more.
  10. Seems like another bunch of freshly minted EU/UK passport holders now arrived here. I guess it the problems existing there are now going to be a standard percentage of people who are 'tourists' as well. Of course mostly paid for with tax money.
  11. If it was only allowed it would have been a thriving business already that in fact would help boost economy, force innovation to happen instantly much more, it would force Thais to level up their skills doing the same too etc etc etc. I could get a tour bus with polish workers here by the end of the month, if it was allowed. I would get super rich. Hmm wait, maybe that is why these elites today play exactly this game with the locals...
  12. That's an entire different subject and complete BS. People do not want children anymore due to finance, that is a global problem aside from the fact that older generations told us from kids age BS that our planet has too many people, which is BS too. What really happens is that they try to re-culture and repopulate countries the way 'they like it'. Or in a country like this; to get even more control in fewer hands while seeing the rest as cattle.
  13. They already provide plenty that comes similar to what you state, as well there is tax benefits of like 20-30K baht a year deductions per child alone already in place. To give a poor or minimum wage 1K for an extra child is just stupidity, it helps zero, just to buy proper milk costs a few K a month already let alone with diapers, wipes and a few other small things, that is the real problem. You can't expect people earning 12K a month each max, to get more babies costing minimum 5K a month each. If you want to promote having more babies give me like a 60-120K tax break and i consider one more. For the majority of locals and their salary, they already get enough exempted, as they can't earn more. As long Thailand keeps playing this game, pretending they not know the elite got this money, well nothing changes. With the little money they actually have, Thailand their system is actually quite good if you ask me. The entire issue is that the money is far from enough compared to those who need it but that in the same time is a result of keeping them uneducated and poor too. As if they were not they earned more + paid more taxes too. The elite is mainly the problem, and they obviously control the system. But the system as it is designed so far otherwise is actually really decent on many ends for what they can do with it on that level.
  14. Only way to have a chance in this country, assuming you kind of start without family support in any significant way, middle class style, you simply need to both graduate, get like a nice office job or whatever in BKK, and then together you can actually reach that 50-60K a month income level easily, pay off a nice 1BR condo unit in the city etc. But if you then add pictures to the equation or plans, it all shatters right away already, unless grandmother now moves into the 45SQM condo as well, or the baby is like shipped off as if you just were a surrogate parent. I'm not blaming the Thais for not having a lot of kids, I always wanted 2 myself but have to stick to 1 due to International school costs. At the end, I am the same generation as they are in my early 30s.
  15. You move to isaan never or when you somehow lost it and are retired. You not move their in working age as a westerner to do a business lol, then you simply lost your mind yourself.
  16. Feels like it, it is not. Many short time girls I sometimes have also feel like family lol.
  17. What is that like A class style ignorance lol? The Op is 100% right, it never been worse than this today since the Internet started and been in the business and sector. You want to tell people they have to be like techies now to find their way in a swamp of crap like most beta programmers etc also tell their customers.
  18. Just found out in recent days, after doing some technical research for a client who in this social media and mobile game, that for some strange reason almost all platforms allow unverified sign ups when they use random 'proxy pools' which is like a VPN for the less technical amongst us. This allows them to spam insane amounts on all platforms for X days or weeks until their accounts get banned again. All this makes like zero sense from a algo programming perspective to fend off such bots and it was a conspiracy since like 2016-2017 of the 'dead internet theory' to state that these social media platforms willingly allow it and up to 60% traffic is bots to generate more ad revenue. Then add on the developments with AI today, these comments and posts will soon look as real as real ones, one does not even know what it reads anymore. You could think to read a recent experience of a person in Laos while it was just AI. And that's innocent. Like if you would want to create a real new identity, it usually would require a brand new phone with a sim card as well, as they else simply detect it is an alias of yourself. It makes no sense to then have that loophole. They sell <deleted>ty bots and the like to automate this further and then essentially milk people to go to either silly dropshipping websites, only fans website or whatever else could skim a few dollars of you. This while the big giant platforms earn on the users and traffic boost of it regardless too + it makes ads more expensive. Anyway, I guess that is why I stopped using it since like 5 years myself already. Is like the entire world became a scammer, they scam using fake profiles with cooperation of onlyfans models, they sell you products on webshops for 100% the price and so the list goes on and on.
  19. ''Karen retiree barricaded himself into a room after refusing to pay more or leave this month to month rented room'' I should tell gogo bars the same, I always paid less fro drinks and did month to month too.
  20. What is so hard to even get from the very basic fact that you rent month to month, you have no right to stay, what a joke to even think this. Move along already or pay more. Have you even offered to stay while paying the new rate instead? If not, you are not even legally incorrect but also morally, to complain or ask about it here. Or are you indeed noisy and it is not about what you state? Left or right you have no rights on a monthly except for maybe that month, even then they could kick you out and refund, if they want to, or else it's civil court for you on that end too. Being part of the dusted living furniture does not grant rights either unless you were local on some land that nobody else claimed ownership over anymore since decade(s) up.
  21. I think we stopped using them like 2 decades ago in my country lol.
  22. They have these State apps nowadays for the digital RMB money where you can deposit using visa/mastercard as well. The thing is that they not work remotely so you just can get that done once you landed. It's called the E-CNY app but there is various I guess, I used to just transfer someone in THB to get CNY on WeChat.
  23. It is all these small things that add up fast in Thailand for real. It is same I just went to Cambodia and you then realize more easily as the EUR/USD is near the same today compared to when you are in Thailand: 50 baht only here, 80 baht only there, 120 baht here and before you know you spend 20 USD already before it is 3PM. One can maybe own a condo and always cook at home, sure, that really makes those costs little but then there is reality and a life too. I feel sorry for those at retired age to be here on so little, like what was 40 years work worth then. Is the entire reason I decided to do it the other way around and came here young 14 years by now, my entire adult life. I would not be that sure I want to even be here at a old age.
  24. Is a matter of time. I mean just with a Mac Mini and DeepSeek's Open Source version from today available alone you essentially already have this GPT as known online today so far, for yourself, isolated.
